1. STEP 1: Drag the photo into the workspace, and double click on the photo to PLACE it (the X on the photo will disappear).

STEP 2: Right clock on the photo's layers and select "Rasterize Layer" from the marking menu.

Frequently used Functions in Maya

1: CREATING POLYGONS

1:  Choose polygon from the shelf 2: Click and drag on the grid to make the polygon to size.

2: MANIPULATING THE POLYGON

1. Choose one of the Manipulation tool in the tool box (move, rotate, or scale) 2. Click on the polygon you wish to manipulate. 3.Click and drag one of the handles to manipulate the polygon mesh.

3: SELECTING DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF A POLYGON

1. Right click on the poly to bring up the fly out menu 2. Slelect the component you wish to select ( Faces, Edges, vervex, or Object)

3. click to select.

4: ADDING AN EDGE LOOP TO A POLYGON MESH

1. GO TO MESH TOOLS>INSERT EDGE LOOP  2. click on an edge to insert an edge loop 3.make sure you click on the selection tool to get out of the insert edge loop tool.

5: COMBINING POLYGONS

1. Shift click all the polygons you wish to combine 2. GO TO >MESH>COMBINE in the menu bar.

6: ADDING MATERIALS (COLOR) TO A POLYGON.

1. Right click on the polygon to bring up the fly-out menu   2. Click on ASSIGN NEW MATERIAL 3.Select the type of Material Lambert (matte) Blinn (eggshell) Phong (shiny) 3. click on color box in the material attribute menu and select a color.

7: DUPLICATING A POLYGON

1. click on the polygon to select the polygon you wish to duplicate.  2. hit CMD + D on you keyboard to duplicate polygon. #. use Move Tool to move the duplicate out.
