surf’s up (2007) is just. such a novel concept for a movie.

like someone had to go into a boardroom and say “i have a movie idea. it’s a mockumentary about surfing penguins. the main character? whiny teenage boy who wants to leave his hometown of Buttfuck Nowhere, Antarctica. he’s played by shia labeouf. main character goes to the nashville of penguin surfing to make it big and meet his hero. the soundtrack? green day. the antagonist? diedrich bader. any questions?”
