okay so as I was saying to kate, I feel like emma knows the selznicks pretty well since they are so close with the connors and idk she’s probably just kinda low-key adopted them, too, tbh, and even tho chris is like in his thirties she probably kinda acts like his mom sometimes smdh

okay so I definitely think that emma knows will/the selznicks since they are so close with the connors/from when he dated val and I feel like she loves all the selznicks a lot??? tbh she’s probably tried to adopt all of them too #facepalm (she has a problem haha) and yeah ... like obviously she’s not as close with them as the connors or anything, but she likes to know that they are doing well, etc. etc.

so emma is kinda like natalie’s second mom, so I feel like she’d def know james!!!! honestly, I think she thinks that they are perfect for each other and she’s so happy for them and loves james a LOT and tbh she’s probably just kinda adopted him too smdh and bakes him cookies and makes sure he’s invited to all of the hughes/connors/walker family things <3

okay so I feel like emma def knows stella since she’s living with her son haha??? tbh she’s probably there a lot just like apologizing for adam b/c she can’t imagine what he’d be like to live with if he didn’t want you there ;D

EMMA LOVES SETH TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!! <333 anyway, I feel like emma has basically been his second (or really third b/c natalie is his second mom haha) mom since he moved here and she def is always looking out for him/hella concerned about him like 24/7 haha and def uses the fact that he lives in the same building as adam as an excuse to check in on him like all the time and bring him food and casually hang out and do his laundry and like other mom things smdh <3

emma loves natalie so so much!!!!!!! and honestly, I feel like she was really shocked by how meredith just kinda abandoned her kids like that, especially b/c she could never imagine doing that to adam for anything, and like ... I feel like that def damaged her opinion of meredith tbh (not that she would ever talk badly about their mom to them but yeah). but ugh also like she knows first hand what it is like to raise a kid on your own and natalie was basically raising TWo while still being a kid herself and emma is like “how????? did ???? you??? do ??? that???” and doesn’t blame her at all for seeking out her and tbh emma was there for all three of them from the start, and def there to help out, but especially with the girls tbh b/c yeah they were in high school and you know that there were a lot of things that john was clueless about haha. and yeah in a lot of ways, natalie and valerie are def the daughters she never had and she loves them a lot and is so proud of both of them and ugh <3333

omg so emma just loves cece a lot!!!! like idk how long cece has been working for emma (do you think this is her first summer with her???) but regardless, I feel like they just hit it off immediately and like they work really well together and emma is always like “hey if law school doesn’t work out, you can be my #2!!! jk jk .... but not really” and honestly, I think part of her is kinda sad that she’ll eventually have to leave but at the same time she’s super proud and excited for her that she’s following her dreams and doing what she wants and she’s just so happy for her. 

... also I just see these two taking a lot of tea breaks haha

Cece is honestly beyOND grateful to have this job like Emma makes everything possible by employing her honestly <333  I also feel like Cece really admires and looks up to Emma, yknow?  Like, despite adversity, she’s done all these amazing things on her own and Cece honestly wants to be like that someday <3

okay so Emma loves Adam SO MUCH!!!! and like idk exactly what happened with his dad, but however badly things ended there, Emma would do it all again in a heartbeat b/c it meant she’d have Adam, you know? And I do think she struggled a lot w/ regards to his dad b/c I think she’s just someone who likes to fix things and sees the best in people and I just think that she really wanted it to all work out with the three of them. And I’m not sure what kind of person he was, exactly (I mean obviously an asshole but idk much beyond that????), but I def think she loved him despite his flaws and idk really wanted to help him be a better person and tried for years and kinda broke up and got back to together with him a couple of times b/f she realized that he was never going to change and yeah. I really think she regrets that, though. 

Also, I think she worries a lot about Adam and she kinda feels like she failed in him a lot of ways??? Like he’s 24 and he doesn’t have a real job and doesn’t have a real apartment (i mean he’s living in a tugboat <33) and like she knows he’s this brilliant kid who could do so much better and she’s wondering if she screwed up somehow along the line ... I mean, at the same time, if Adam is happy with his life the way it is, then she’s fine with it, but I’m not sure she knows if he is or not??? like she just wants the best for him okay like he deserves all the happiness in the world and she just wants to give it to him!!!!!

Age: 47 Occupation: Owner of Rusty Cottage Antiques  Description: Emma grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, near the Maryland line. She’d never left home until she went to college in Norfolk. She fell in love with the area and decided that, after school, she wanted to move to Virginia Beach. She was anxious about the move when it came time, but when the older brother of her best friend, Meredith, said he wanted a change of scenery, too, and would go with her, Emma felt more at ease. She worked odd jobs before she finally set up her own business. She got into a bad relationship, however, shortly after moving and she ended up pregnant with Adam. She and her ex never married, but he was in and out of her life as Adam grew up, and it wasn’t until recently when she decided to end things for good. Emma has no idea that her best friend, John, has loved her for years. She, however, has never thought of him that way, but she wouldn’t know what to do without him. He was there for her when no one else was when Adam was born and growing up, and she was there for him when Meredith and her husband couldn’t be bothered to raise their own children anymore and John’s two nieces and his nephew came to live with him.
