My roommate thought she hated cooking and then she moved in with me and started using knives that were actually sharp and realized cooking is fun. Sometimes I wonder how many other situations are like this. It's not you, or your skills. It's just the lack of correct tools. Everyone knows you need a knife in the kitchen but no one mentions a sharpening stone.

And the first normal sized Long Quiet is done! I tried to incorporate more of the anatomy from The Princess and the Dragon chapter of the game, while still keeping the tail from my original Long Quiet sculpture because it makes me happy. And I think the scaling worked out really well this time around - his wings give him the hulking silhouette from that chapter, but he's small enough to still reasonably pull off the more tender/affectionate gestures the character displays in others. That's really important for the display I want to put all these guys into - he's gotta be able to hold Thorn with affection, for example.

Two down, three to go. I might not do individual posts for the remaining three Quiets - they're functionally the same sculpture as this one, with just minor variations in expression, which makes them less interesting on the individual level than the princesses were. But who knows, we'll see!
