One positive note - there was progress in the sense that against Notre Dame, we could not come back. Against USC, we were down by like 20 and we came back and almost had the opportunity to make it OT. And this is without Azzi.

At the same time, UConn has a massive post problem. Ice should not be starting. He needs to invest in Jana the same way he has invested in Sarah because for the few minutes Jana was in there, she contained Kiki. Morgan Cheli's ceiling is so so high. But we need a post player. Watching everyone have their shot blocked was painful ngl. We gotta work on that too and also wish our bigs could do that.

Geno mismanaged Azzi's minutes in my opinion and also KK's, who was the reason it turned around even if the box score doesn't reflect it.

There has been progress, and all this was initiated by KK, because before her, we played as if we were just passengers. That first half was sickening to watch.

Neither Ice nor Jana impressed me; they both seem too shy and passive, which we can't have in this position. Morgan actually moved me and I'm glad she got minutes. The block party was something else 😭.

I don't think they could have done anything else. They were hoping that Azzi would change the momentum (as in the game against Ole), but when it became clear that she was going to take hits while her shots weren't falling, the risk wasn't worth it. I was a little surprised that KK didn't play in the 4th, but I can understand that we were at last settled on defense and needed the calm choices of a senior to make the plays.

kk was also the best primary defender on juju, when you let kk guard her it allows paige to not exert all her energy on the defensive end. paige scored the most when kk was the primary defender on juju, that isn’t coincidental.
