I think there's more satisfaction in being an insecure beginner, perservering, working, learning, going through this entire arc and coming to a point where you feel competent, both as a doer and a teacher (even if you might never teach your craft to someone else) than there is satisfaction in immediately being great at something. I really don't care about natural talents and born masters. Sometimes it feels like we've come to a point where any work and effort is considered oppressive. Of course, insecurity and embarrassment are debilitating and incapacitating but, I'm going to quote fucking game of thrones at the lot of you and say "fear cuts deeper than swords".
