"can't really say they're my favourite." the brunette shrugged. "people always seem to make terrible decisions and walk straight into danger."

"yes-" diane nodded but her brow furrowed. "i just need something to make my bedroom windowsill look a little less bare but i'm not quite sure what type i want to choose." the woman sighed - picking out flowers weren't really her thing but perhaps they should have been as she loved getting them and displaying them.
flowers were her least favourite thing, which made it ironic that she spent most of her days getting paid to make floral arrangements for people. turning her head, the grip on the vase loosens, although quick to fix it atop the counter. “ hi. ” a beat. “ i’m fine. uh — how are you? ”

anywhere with elena ( @anoetics )
"no-" diane called out as all she saw was a blurred background screen before her phone died. "honestly, you think i'd remember to charge it before this happens by now but i'm somewhat reactionary." the woman chuckles as she looks to elena. "god, sometimes i miss those brick things that you had to charge, like, once a month or something. do you have some sort of charger?"

"please drop the ma'am. i'm not that old." she doesn't even leave room for a rhetorical question as she knows she won't like the response. fiona's eyes flicker between the bartender's eyes and the glass, each time, he's looking at her. "why are you looking at me like that?"
toothpick bitten between pearly whites, lashes blinking before he fully registers what she's requesting. “ yes ma'am, your wish is my command. ” he flirts with a slight upturn of the left side of his lips, popping open the wine and pouring the red liquid into the glass, eyes never leaving her own.

"well, you know, i saved you some embarrassment with that one, right?" diane chuckled, leaning in as she did. "you don't give me enough credit." the woman somehow wondered how she'd got so lucky, to have a son like roman. evidently things weren't as perfect in the wexler household as they pretended it to be but it was alright because she had him. "you look after me. thank you."
〝 and is that your objective, unbiased opinion? gees, mom, some missed opportunity there … could've named me diane jr., set me up for success in life. 〞 subtle mood shift picked up on, roman steers clear of the subject that is his father. 〝 right! 〞 a hand clap. 〝 one stack of blueberry pancakes, coming right up. 〞

"it's not like i'm leaving her to it. i get up in the night, sure but she does as well." fiona shook her head. "look, i don't know how it all went down with her kids, okay? but i don't want some random stranger coming in and making themselves comfortable." - with our baby, she just couldn't say it. fiona felt disconnected. fiona richardson didn't cry often, not when someone else was present but she could feel tears forming and clouding her eye sight. "what if she just has no use of me?"
〝 babies are a lot of work. 〞 thank you, captain obvious. 〝 sleep deprivation's part of it. you've got deep pockets, could get her some help, take the load off. and if that doesn't do it … well, then you've got a problem. 〞

"you do realise you're not meant to pour it that quickly." the woman's brow furrowed as she glared at him, an attitude that was unprovoked but she was snobbish when it came to wine, even if it was only the house red. "what are you smirking at?"
toothpick bitten between pearly whites, lashes blinking before he fully registers what she's requesting. “ yes ma'am, your wish is my command. ” he flirts with a slight upturn of the left side of his lips, popping open the wine and pouring the red liquid into the glass, eyes never leaving her own.

"i wouldn't say that i work too much, i've just got a lot up in the air at the moment and don't want to miss anything." fiona was dedicated to her work - it energised her in the way her family life just didn't but her wife knew what she was like before they got married. "she's never seemed to have a problem with me before. i understand we have a young child and perhaps it's a little too much for her."
〝 that's why i do what i want, and don't what i don't. no point in both of you being unhappy. 〞

diane had attempted to blank the other but she'd only feel comfortable doing it if it weren't totally obvious. "lennox." the woman sighed as she chose to acknowledge the other. "fancy seeing you here." there was a long pause from the blonde. "how've you been?"

"can i get another, please?" the woman returned her glass of what was once wine to the bar and raised her eyebrows. "house red, please." fiona would always make a point of using her manners, even if her brash tone let her down.

"damned if i do, damned if i don't. that's what every day feels like now." fiona was worried that her marriage was falling apart with her absence and she couldn't quite find that sweet spot.

"right." had she forgotten or had he not even told her? the woman was unsure of that. "hey, it's a classic and it's not my fault that dianes tend to be really talented. i was going to start with that, yes, but was thinking i'd watch some more bette films that are available, actually." diane sighed, now hung up on the possibility that her own husband didn't tell her he was going to be out - it should have been expected.
"im just surprised, that's all." diane was quick with her retort, putting her hands up in a slight surrender. "hang out? is everything alright? i was planning on making myself look presentable for anyone who mat knock on the door then just watch some movies but you're more than welcome to join. think your father already went for work." it was a weekend, wasn't it?

〝 i need an occasion now? 〞 typically, yes. despite a close relationship, roman wasn't sneaking into his childhood home every weekend for impromptu breakfasts. 〝 no occasion. just thought we could … hang out. 〞 real unsuspicious.

diane couldn't help but smile at her son. "oh, you spoil me! you know i do like blueberries. so what's the special occasion?"
〝 morning! who wants blueberry pancakes? banana? or, if you're feeling sinful, chocolate chip. 〞
