It’s Finally Done.

Yes the house in the Florida Keys was finally done. Now Barak and Carly could move into their brand new home. Since Barak was on an east coast  mini tour he got some of his friends to help Carly move stuff out of their Brooklyn home.  He got  Bruce, Rob and Marc to help Carly pack up everything for the move down there. Carly had her dad, mom, Bruce, Rob and Marc help her bring in all the furniture into the new house.  Carly’s parents understood why she and their son-in-law left New York. Carly’s parents were thinking of leaving Mesa Arizona. While her sister Jill and her hubby lived outside Seattle Washington. They lived there since Jill worked at Boeing. Jill is an aircraft designer. Her hubby Steve is a pilot for Delta Airlines. Now with all these people crossing the border Carly’s Carly’s dad had decided that he and his wife were going to move further east. Just where he wasn’t sure. Carly’s mom was thinking maybe she and John would move to

Are You Ready?

Barak was getting ready to go back on the road again soon. There would be some changes to his band. Russ McKinnon his drummer was leaving him. In Russ’s place  was going to be another former drummer Mark Scholl. Mark was with Barak between 1990 and 1999. He was also loosing his base player. So Steve Donaghey was  his bass player. Steven had been with Brian Murphy between 1975 and 1979. Steve would be Barak’s new bass player. Barak’s band would consist of the following people. Mark Scholl, Vanesa Brown , Steve Donaghey, Mike Lent, Ron Pedlley, Dana Robbins,  Billy Kidd, Kion Harris, Robin Hendricks and Joey Melotti. The new tour Manilow Live 2021 would begin in New York City in February at Radio City Music Hall. The dates were Saturday February thirteen and Sunday February fourteen. Barak  was going out on the road to promote his latest album called Shadow Man. The Shadow Man delved deeper into the Shadow Man who use to live in apartment 1A at the Mayflower apartment building in Brooklyn New York. He now lived in a beach house in  Malibu California.  Barak let mayor Bill de Blasio know that he was performing at Radio City Music Hall for two nights. So there was nothing that mayor Bill  de Blasio  could do about it. He also let the mayor know that New Yorkers were tired of these lock downs that he and Cuomo were putting on all of them. If they didn’t quit neither of them would get reelected. Barak knew when they were up for reelection. So he wouldn’t be voting for either of them. Neither would a lot of his New York friends. Barak said he was bringing classy back to this tour. Barak sent Marty, Bruce, Enoch, Jack, Marc and Garry a photo of his soon to be new electric vehicle. Barak was buying a Volkswagen ID-4 electric vehicle. The exterior color was a teal color. While the interior was black. Barak had already put a down payment on his ID-4. Barak had gone down to the Florida Keys in two thousand nineteen. He went there to look at some property. Barak decided to build a house down in the Florida Keys. He loved the Florida Keys. Not to hot not to cold. Barak knew he was going to have to put hurricane windows and shutters. The house was going to be a four story home with a basement.   Now the  basement would have Carly’s home office, game room, half bath and  a kitchenette. The first floor had a coat closet, living room, dining room, kitchen and half bath. The second floor was the master floor with lounge area, bedroom, bathroom and closet. The third floor would have two bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry room. The fourth floor was his at home recording studio, office and half bath. This house had a front porch plus a back porch. He was even having an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven. Barak sold his Brooklyn Heights home to a person from the west coast. The person was moving back from California to New York City. Barak had finally had it with New York City. He didn’t like  mayor De Belaso nor did he like governor Coumo. He hated the lockdowns. So moving to Florida was the right thing top do. He was going to open his third 1943 British American Gastro Pub in Key West. Number two was across the pond in London England.

Surprise!

Surprise everyone. My new album Shadow Man which was to be released in April of next year. Will now be released this year in October to be exact. The  actual  release date is Tuesday October 13. Then that night me, my band and backup singers will be doing an online concert. Not a ninety minute concert. Oh no but a full two hour concert that will feature all the songs from Here At The Mayflower and Shadow Man. My encore numbers will be some of your favorite songs of mine. All you have to do is go to my Tumblr account and leave the song you want me to sing. I’ll put up the entire list of all the songs you suggested. The top five songs are the ones I’ll do. Also coming out in October will be the fall 2020 newsletter Here At The Mayflower/Shadow Man Edition. This edition will give you the 411 on the Mayflower apartment building and the people who live there. Now I need some suggestions from you guys on something we can do for next year 2021  So you know I’m sort of an extreme sports junky. I do mountain biking, kayaking and white water  rafting. Then four years ago I tried zip-lining and loved it. I even went rock climbing once. Garry thought I was crazy for doing that. That’s one thing I have never ever done again. After posting a message to his fans Barak got a call from David Taylor his manager. David heard from Marc that Suzanne was telling everyone about Barak’s love life and  his politics again.  So let’s see  said Barak according to Susanne I’m a gay Democrat.  Actually  I’m straight and married.  Plus I don’t put my political views out there for everyone to know.  My mom Edna and step-dad Willie were life long Republicans. Mom’s favorite President was Ronald Regan. She also loved him when he was an actor.  When I lived in Bel Air California I was able to get  his autograph for my mom Edna. David said he was glad that I didn’t live in CA any more because of the wild fires.  David recently was out in LA to visit his family. He went past my old address in Bel Air. Said the home on the property was way to mid-century modern for his taste. Then he took a drive up to Malibu where he saw Suzanne’s new beach house. Her old beach house burned to the ground years back. David took some photos of the front of her beach house. He told me he had to leave quickly since he saw Alan’s SUV coming down the street. Suzanne also has a home in Palm Springs which  she considers her secondary home. Suzanne’s  Malibu beach house was her actual  home. She  wasn’t to happy when I put my beach house on the market to sell it. Just like she wasn’t happy when I sold my Palm Springs home. I know she keeps telling people I’m moving back to Palm Springs. Well I’m never moving back there ever. Worrying about wild fires and earth quakes is not my thing any more. My other friend Lorna lives with her husband Colin Freeman in London England most of the time. They did have a home in Palm Springs. But they sold that home since neither of them were crazy about the wild fires and earth quakes either. She and Colin also have a home just  outside of Larchmont New York. That home is a farm house. Lorna has a barn for some horses that she and Colin love to ride.

Number Six.

Monday July 13th was Barak and Carly’s sixth wedding anniversary.. Six years of wedded bliss for the two of them. Barak  took Carly on a getaway for their sixth wedding anniversary. They took an Amtrak train up to Boston where they caught another Amtrak train the Downeaster to Wells Maine. From there they rented a car to drive to Kennebunkport. Barak had gotten them a cottage at The Cottages at Cabot Cove. Barak mentioned to Carly that they were not going to move from New York City just because of the riots. You have your Brooklyn Pet Care  animal clinic. I don’t want your clients having to find another veterinarian for their animals. Once they got home Barak checked his email. He had gotten emails from Garry and Marc. Garry heard that the Westgate was not reopening their theatre for the rest of this year. So Brian had to reschedule the rest of this years shows for next year.  Now if it was up to the Democrats we would be  most likely quarantined for the rest of our lives thought Barak. We would only be able to go out to get food, drugs, doctors offices and gasoline. In essence they want to run or ruin our lives forever.  Garry also said some people were talking about him being a loyal Democrat supporter. You and Mark are the only two who know what my political party is.  Suzanne was on a radio program and told the host that your beard was a Democrat. Carly is not my beard she’s my wife. Carly is also a life long Republican not a Democrat. Suzanne still wants me to come out as a gay man which I am not.  Because of the pandemic I’m putting out my new album out on Tuesday October 13th. This will be a special treat for my fans to tide them over until we can get together again.

Hi everyone it’s me Barak here. Here is the cover of my new album that comes out in April of next year. The name of the album is Shadow Man.  I decided that the Shadow Man needed to have his own story told. The Shadow Man is a pop singer/songwriter. Who kept his personal life a secret. “No one knows you but they all love you. Don’t let them get to much of you.” The Shadow Man always wanted to get into the music business.

No I’m Not.

A reporter called Barak to ask him if he was going to be a part of Hold The House fundraiser. No I will not be a part of the Hold The House event said Barak I don’t take part in political stuff like that.  Like I’ve said so many times before I don’t share my politics with anyone. Barak figured that  Brian Murphy was taking part in that since he is a Democrat. I don’t want people liking me  for  my politics. it’s all about the music I make. Barak was online and saw that someone had mentioned that Suzanne’s name had been added to the list of entertainers who were taking part in the July 12th  political benefit. I’ll be in the studio with Dionne Warwick during that time. Ron Dante is co-producing her new album with me. Then in January 2021 he’s co-producing my new album with me, The album called Shadow Man will be recorded in January 2021. It comes out on Tuesday April 20, 2021. I’ll be heading down under in June 2021 for some shows. That’s Australia and New Zealand. Some people have asked why I don’t do concerts in Asia and Europe. I got booed off the stage in Hamburg Germany and in Tokyo  Japan.So I never scheduled concerts in Asian and European cities after that. It  might have been because of my 2:00AM Paradise Café jazz album. I went out on my first concert tour to promote that album in 1984. That album was a jazz album. I’m guessing those people weren’t interested in jazz music. People in the US knew who I was because of my Broadway career. They knew me for all my Broadway musicals. I had a very successful Broadway songwriting career before I became a recording artist. I haven’t given up on my on my Broadway career. Me and my songwriting partners have written a new musical that is called The Mayflower . We are hoping it hits Broadway in the fall of 2021 or the spring of 2022. The Mayflower delves into more of the stories of the tenants that live at the Mayflower apartment building. I may take my new album Shadow Man and turn it into a musical some day. Barak also heard that Brian Murphy was canceling the rest of his 2020 shows at the Westgate because of the corona virus. Boy are his fans going to be pissed off at him for doing this. I’m going out on the road at the end of July. Me, my band and backup singers are doing some concerts at outdoor football stadiums. So fans can self distance from each other. I’m playing Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, Houston,  Las Vegas, Arizona, LA, San Francisco and Seattle. We’re doing two nights in each of those cities. Their football stadiums seat 60,000 people.��

Hi Gang Barak here. We’re just itching to get back on the road again and make music for all of you. We have been using a giant hall to practice in. That’s to get our chops loosened up. I have most of the same band and backup singers as before. That’s Russ McKinnon drums, Marc Levine bass,/vocals,  Mike Lent guitar/vocals, Ron Pedley keyboards, Jay Scott trombone, Kevin Malloy trumpet, Dana Robbins saxophone/vocals, Billy Kidd keyboards/vocals, Kia Marx vocals and Joey Melotti keyboards/vocals/music director. I did loose David Rosenblatt and Dean Jarvis. They went back to Vegas to play in Brian Murphy’s band. Now that’s ok because I got Vanessa Brown to come back out with me.  Vanessa played percussion during my Big Fun Tour de Force Tour and my Barak Manilow on Broadway tour. Kion left for his own recording career. He got a contract at Motown Records. In October his first R&B/soul album called Spicy Hot comes out. Congratulations to Kion on getting a record deal. with Motown. Make sure you pick up a copy of Kion’s new album when it comes out in October. Before I go to far Marc Hulett my favorite video guy. Came out and video taped one of our rehearsals for a surprise concert for all you BMIFC members.  Monday May 25th at 8PM over on B-TV is when this video will air. The video will stay up the rest of this month and all of June. Rumor has it Brian Murphy is finishing his latest album which is a Christmas album. I did hear that Brian’s back with Arista Records and Clive Davis.  Brian told me himself he’s back with Clive and Arista. So that’s how I know that piece of news. I was at Arista for a little while.  I left in 2000 when Clive Davis was told to retire. LA Reed took over an ran Arista into the ground. Arista is now a part of the RCA Music Group which Clive Davis is the president of. Brian begged me to come back to Arista. I told him and do what more covers no way was I going to do that again. I’m in the middle of writing songs with my songwriting partners for a new original material album. I’m going into the studio in January 2021 to record it. The album will be out in April 2021. Once we are done writing all the songs. I’ll put up a list of the  song titles that will be on the album. Then you fans will get to vote on which song should be the title of the album. The fan who picks the winning title will get a vinyl copy of the album autographed by me. Adrienne and I wrote two songs for Dionne Warwick’s new album. Which I’ll be producing next month. Dionne Warwick just signed with Concord Music Group. Dionne was looking for a new record label. I suggested she sign with Concord Music. I mentioned to her that Kenny G, Dave Koz, James Taylor, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney are also on the label. Dionne already knew that I was on Concord Records.

FOR SALE!

Marty called Barak to ask him if he was selling his home in Brooklyn. Selling my home said Barak no I’m not selling my home.. Where did you get that from Marty asked Barak? One of my friends out here saw a snip on ET. The friend said the female host said you were selling your Brooklyn brownstone and moving back to Palm Springs. She said that you were moving back because you missed it so much. She mentioned that you were getting a divorce from your wife. So you could come out of the closet like Brian Murphy did back in two thousand and five. This way you could be your true self a gay man.  No I’m not moving back there ever again I’m not gay nor have I ever been. Getting a divorce from Carly never. I wouldn’t be surprised if Suzanne wasn’t the one talking about this. Just like she said that Garry and I got married on Andy Cohan’s talk show. I haven’t talked to her  since I moved back east here in two thousand and four. She’s still  friends with Brian Murphy. She still sees my home in the Mesa. Since Brian bought my home back in two thousand and four. He always admired my home and said if I ever decided to sell it let him know first. Before I put it on the market I told him about selling it. Brian bought my house for four times the asking price. Marty said the reason I asked is because I herd from that person that you talked to a real estate agent about selling your Brooklyn brownstone. I haven’t talked to any real estate agent recently. The last time I talked to a real estate agent was when I was looking for a home in Brooklyn. I finally got the home renovated. I renovated my at home recording studio which is on the fourth floor. It has my recording studio. office kitchenette and powder room.  After I moved in to the house I renovated that floor to make it into my at home recording studio. The entire floor needed new recording equipment. That’s why while at it the entire floor got a fresh coat of paint. New powder room fixtures, fridge, microwave and office furniture. The other thing the home needed was a new roof, gutters and down spouts. We went with shingles. The name of the shingles is Williamsburg Slate. The people who owned the home before me told me the names of people who did work on the house. I used the same roofer they used.

Hello It’s Me Again.

Hi everyone It’s me again Barak. When I did my recent Q&A Nicki Heart asked me a question. She asked me “Barak what are you doing New Years Eve 2020? I hope you be doing a show or two.  The I’s have been dotted and the T’s have been crossed so now I can answer  her question. Yes I’m doing two show this New Years Eve. They are Thursday December 31st and Friday January 1st.  I’ll be in Orlando Florida at the Amway Center those two nights. This year need to come together as a BMIFC family for some “Big Fun”. After what we have been going through right now. So to go along with my two concerts the BMIFC is having a Big Fun In Orlando Convention. Vikki and I first thought about a party week. But I said no this has to be a convention instead. The Orlando Convention starts on Wednesday December 30th and run through  Sunday January 3rd.  It starts with a meet and greet Wednesday December 30th and ends with a Q&A Brunch on Sunday January 3rd.  All party goers will get tickets to both of my shows. I’m doing two nights at the Amway Center Thursday December 31st and January 1st. Our hotel is the Hyatt Regency Orlando with 1,641 rooms. Remember when we had our Orlando Party Week in May of 1989. I came down on Thursday for a Q&A. The night before I was on Arsenio Hall’s night time talk show. I’m also calling the Friday afternoon bingo game. I’m giving out autographed CD’s as bingo prizes. When we can gat back to being close to one another I’ll be going into the recording studio with Dionne Warwick to record another album with her. The two of us will be doing a duet together on the album. I just found out Brian Murphy has Clovid-19. Marc said he got it from his husband Gregory Knoffler. So he and Gregory are stuck at home for a while. I went out on Thursday for some gasoline and groceries. Got caught by a police officer. He asked me where I was going. I told him I needed gas for my SUV and some groceries. Luckily I had a sharpie and some CD’s in my SUV. I knew the officers wife was a fan so I gave him a copy of Williamsburg album autographed for her. Later on when I went to my websites community page I saw her thank you post. I’m also taking part in an album to raise money for health care workers in New York City. On this album are Judy Collins, Chita Rivera, Dionne Warwick, David Grohl, Billy Joel and me Barak Manilow. We are doing our favorite songs  from our favorite Broadway musicals. We each get to sing two songs.Then as a group  we’re doing Give My Regards To Broadway. Garry suggested I do Marry Me A Little from the re-release of my Trying To Get The Feeling  album 2006.  Then something from one of my Broadway musicals. I decided to do Who Is The Shadow Man from my soon to be on Broadway musical Mayflower.  Who Is The Shadow Man was written by Barak Manilow music/lyrics. Marry Me A Little was written by Broadway songwriters Stephen Sondheim. I found out Judy Collins was doing Send In The Clowns another song written by Stephen Sondheim for his musical A Little Night Music. Chita Rivera is singing America from West Side Story music by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim.

The Latest News.

Hi Gang,                                                                                                                It’s me Barak with some great news.  I will be re-starting my Something’s Comin’ Up Tour in August. The first show in August will be the Denver show on Sunday the second. I’ve also added a second show on Monday the third. Tickets for that show go on sale this Thursday April second at 10AM EDT. Everyone in my band and backup group does not have the Corona virus. Both me and Carly got our flu shots. This coming Sunday March twenty-ninth I’ll be live from my at home recording studio on the top floor of my Brooklyn Heights town home. I’ll be taking requests from my vast catalogue of “Beautiful Music.” Sorry for the pun guys. Do you have a question you want to ask me. I’ll be answering your questions that night too.  Also I’ll be showing off my at home recording studio. Now what that all means is I’ll be live from my at home recording studio. I’m going to show you around my home studio. I’ll be taking request form my vast catalogue of songs. Answering any questions you have. I’m starting this at nine pm EDT,  eight pm CDT, seven pm MDT and six pm PDT. I’ll be asking you fans questions. Be the right person with the answer and you’ll get the autographed CD of your choice. Some winners might even get a surprise CD autographed by me. Brian Murphy wouldn’t do anything like this now would he? Heck no he would not. I need to let Max, Bialy and Ringo outside to do their business. Brian’s Sick Again.

Carly heard from Zoey that Brian Murphy had canceled his Thursday night show at the Westgate. Zoey got that from a group on Facebook she belonged to.  Carly told Barak what Zoey had told her Barak mentioned that Brian seems to get bronchitis an awful lot. She also told Barak that Brian was doing A Gift Of Love number four Christmas benefit shows. Barak was somewhere down the road in Buffalo New York. Tuesday March 10th Barak was doing the Key Bank Center. The show was sold out just like his entire tour was sold out. Next up was Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Detroit. Barack was mot going to let the coronavirus stop him from continuing his Something’s Comin’ Up Tour. Barak thought “They need me to make them feel better.” So when Barak played the Boston area Garry and Denise came to his show. Most everyone had moved back east. Marc Hullet, David Taylor, Vikki Thomas and the rest of the BMIFC people. Eric Schaeffer his current personal assistant was from New York.  Of course people thought Barak should not be out on the road considering his age and health. Lets see I’m seventy-six with no health issues what so ever. Where as Brian Murphy is seventy-three and has atrial fibrillation. Brain had already rescheduled the rest of his March shows. Plus all of his April and May shows.  Barak did find out from Marc Hulett that Brian Murphy was going to be on Rosie O’ Donald’s show on Sunday night. Thank goodness she didn’t invite me on her show said Barak. When she had her talk show on CBS she invited me on. But Garry always told her no. Garry hated Rosie O’ Donald. Garry also didn’t care for Joy Behar either. I never was on The View. As for talk shows I’ve done Mike Douglas, Ellen, Rachel Ray The Talk, Johnny Carson, Arsenio Hall, GMA and The Today Show. Marc figured someone on Rosie’s show Sunday night might bad mouth the president.  Brian Murphy was on Rosie O’ Donald’s show as well as The View from his Palm Springs home in the Mesa. Barak had postponed the rest of his Something’s Comin’ Up Tour till August because of the virus. Instead Barak was going to do an at home mini concert. This would be from Barak’s fourth floor recording studio at his home in Brooklyn Heights. He was going to allow fans to email or skype him their favorite songs that he could play for them. While he was at it he was going to show the fans around his at home recording studio. He was also going to introduce fans to his four legged furry kids. Max six year  old male black Labrador Retriever, Bialy two year old female Labrador Retriever and  Ringo Carly’s one year old 13 inch lemon Beagle.

Barak?

Hi gang. It’s me Barak with a long over due Q&A?  So bare with me I might be a little rusty at this.

Debbie Farris: Barak do you still drive a Range Rover?

Barak: No I don’t. The last one I had didn’t last very long less than two years. I got that one right before I moved back east.  After I got settled I decided to take a Sunday drive out on Long Island. On my way home I saw smoke coming out of the engine. So I pulled off to the shoulder got out and walked away from the Rover. I then called the emergency number for help on the freeway. Just then my Range Rover exploded. Yes it blew up everyone.  For a while I rented an SUV.. I actually decided to wait until after got my house in order before I bought myself a new vehicle. I decided no more Range Rovers for me. I finally got a new set of wheels. I bought myself a Jaguar e-Pace AWD forenze metallic red exterior with ebony black interior. I use Mayflower movers to bring all my stuff out to my house in Brooklyn Heights. Bruce, Rob, Marc and Gary helped me get the moving van unloaded. I was without wheels for a while. But that was ok since my house is three blocks from the subway station that takes you into Manhattan. Also I brought my bicycle with me so I could cycle where I needed to go. Now after I bought my Jaguar e-Pace SUV I ran into some New York City fans. They saw me get into the Jaguar in front of a restaurant I had lunch at. One fan asked why I was getting into to the drivers seat. I told her this is my new set of wheels. Wait till they tell their friends that I drive a Jaguar e-Pace SUV. I can hear them now Barak’s got a Jag. Barak’s a Jag.

Rita Kelly: Barak when does your Something’s Comin” Up Tour start and where does it start?

Barak: I did two shows Monday December 30th and Tuesday December 31st at the Nassau Coliseum out on Long Island. The actual touring starts on Sunday March 1st in Montreal Canada. Then I go across half of the US from March 1st through May 10. In June I’ll be across the pond in the UK. I’m taking off July, August and September to record an original material Christmas album. I wrote ten original Christmas songs for this album. I’m co-producing it with my friend Ron Dante. Ron’s also singing back up on the songs. October starts the second half of the US tour. That’s October through the end of December. I’m doing two concerts connected with the BMIFC Seattle Convention. Wednesday December 30th Tacoma Dome Tacoma Washington and Thursday December 31st New Years Eve Roger Arena Vancouver BC. Right now I’m finishing up the tail end of  the BMIFC Seattle Convention with Vikki. Convention goers will get a ticket to the Tacoma and Vancouver shows.   I worked my usual Manilow Magic top get a great hotel rate at the Sheraton Grand in Seattle. The Sheraton Grand Seattle hotel is at 1400 6th Avenue.  The Sheraton Grand Seattle has 1,236 rooms. There will be more than enough room for our conventioneers. There is a restaurant, wine bar and Starbucks inside the Sheraton Grand hotel. Plus loads of meeting spaces for our convention activities.

Peggy Willis: Barak what’s next in the future?

Barak  Besides working on a new original material album for twenty twenty-one. I’ll be going down under to kangaroo country Australia for some shows. As well as New Zealand for some shows. Australia Perth two shows, Melbourne two shows, Sydney two shows and Brisbane two shows. New Zealand Christchurch two shows, Wellington two shows and Auckland two shows, Vikki and I have  decided the twenty twenty-one convention will be down in Melbourne Australia.  This convention will take place during the month of June. The convention dates to be exact are Thursday June 17th, Friday June 18th, Saturday June 19th and Sunday June 20th. Those fan who come will get to help me celebrate my 78thj birthday. Our convention hotel will be the Crown Metropol with 658 rooms. My two Melbourne shows will be at the Rod Laver Arena 14,820 seats. Fans who come to this convention will get tickets to both Thursday June 17th and Friday June 18th shows.
