A story I submitted for school

“It’s nice outside today,”  Noah says as he calmly walks along the sidewalk beside me. “Yeah, I’m glad it’s not freezing, these uniforms are not made for winter,” I say as I fix my uniform for the millionth time. “I would wear the secondary uniform, but it’s not my style,” I say honestly, which earns Noah a laugh. “Of course, couldn’t have you out of style, sis.” I simply smile as we keep walking until a beep from our watches catches our attention. “Well, that’s not good,” I say as I look at my watch and see a blue flashing light. “It’s a code blue, definitely not good,” Noah says with a small sigh. “Guess we get to skip school today… Mother is going to be mad.” Noah says as coordinates show on the screen of our watches. “At least we won’t have to walk far, the location is in that old warehouse on Oakwood Street, y’know, the one that’s been having reports of anomalies from other Catalyst hunters,” I say as I cross the street to get to the warehouse. “Yeah, I know that one, supposedly someone’s brain had turned to mush, right?” Noah asks with slight disgust. 

The twins start to make their way to the old, dingy, and falling-apart warehouse. “I think so, I don’t know how that would’ve been possible, but it supposedly happened. Maybe it could’ve been spores, but that would mean everyone else’s brain would also turn to mush.” I say as I think on it, but not for long. I climb atop some crates to a nearby window and I climb through it, Noah following close behind not too far behind.” Can we not talk about brains turning to mush anymore? I don’t want to hear the possibilities of my brain becoming mush.” Noah says with a disgusted cringe. “Alright, no more talk about it, big baby,” I say and I fully climb into the building and start to look around. “Wow, it’s musty in here, holy cow…” Noah says with a cough as he fully climbs through the window. “I wonder what triggered the Code Blue, I  see quite literally nothing but dust and left behind equipment,” Noah says as he starts the look around while I look at my watch to try to see what specifically set it off.

 ��Um… So we’re looking for a disk thing. It was apparently stolen and tracked to here.” I say as I look for the disk, but to no avail. I suddenly have the feeling of someone watching me, and I look around me and I feel a sudden chill run down my back when I look at a dark corner of the warehouse. Before I know it, the shadows disappear and the disk thing is revealed. “Um… I found the disk think and most definitely an anomaly.” I say as I quickly pick up the disk thing, grab Noah’s arm, shove him out the window, and follow closely behind. “Ow, Nova that hurts,” Noah says as he rubs the area where I grabbed it. “You will be fine, the worst it will do is lightly bruise. Now let's go, you out of everyone knows that I don’t mess around with shadow anomalies.” I say as I use my watch to open a portal to the Archive Council Hall. Noah walks in first while I look back at the warehouse window and see nothing. I walk into the portal and to the Council Hall.
