“…Let us visit Christ whenever we may; let us care for him, feed him, clothe him, welcome him, honour him, not only at a meal, as some have done, or by anointing him, as Mary did, or only by lending him a tomb, like Joseph of Arimathaea, or by arranging for his burial, like Nicodemus, who loved Christ half-heartedly, or by giving him gold, frankincense and myrrh, like the Magi before all these others. The Lord of all asks for mercy, not sacrifice, and mercy is greater than myriads of fattened lambs. Let us then show him mercy in the persons of the poor and those who today are lying on the ground, so that when we come to leave this world they may receive us into everlasting dwelling places, in Christ our Lord himself, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
— Saint Gregory Nazianzen

"To be let alone with God is the only true way of arriving at a knowledge of ourselves and our ways. No matter what we may think about ourselves, or what others may think of us, the greats question is what does God's think of us?"

How to study productively from home
(add your own tips below)
1) still wake up at your usual time and follow your usual routine as closely as you can, if you would have had classes complete work for those subjects
2) eat healthy! use this time as an opportunity to put time into making new meals and eating clean and energising food will make you feel more fresh even if you haven’t been outside
3) get dressed, as tempting as it is to sit in bed and wear pyjamas getting dressed will trick your brain into having more of a productive day than a lazy one
4) create a study corner, if you don't usually work from home create a place to do specifically that and decorate it! maybe add some post cards or photos or dried flowers, anything that encourages you to work there
5) make a new playlist, having new music to listen to will encourage you to sit down and work so you can listen to it
6) remember to phone friends and family, don’t isolate yourself! other people are scared or bored and want the contact too
7) make your own structure for the day, the day before plan what you will do the next day, what work you will complete and what you will eat, following this helps you feel accomplished and not lazy

Becoming A Nurse
3 important points of interest:
1. Someone's life may depend on one's decision.
2. Little things in life matter.
3. Who you are in your darkest moment is who you are in the light.
How these affect me as a student nurse:
1. I must consider the implications of every decision that I make from small to large scale. Everything that I do as a student nurse is in preparation for when I am released into the professional world, to real life settings. The knowledge, skills, and attitude that I gain is based on the decisions that I make to study, to practice, and to uphold the values that I learn here. What I choose to do today effects my tomorrow and the lives that I will encounter.
2. Acknowledging that the little things matter demonstrates how important details are in life. To miss a small yet vital piece of information concerning the care of my patient may risk his or her health outcome. In addition, the tasks and responsibilities due should be done with personal integrity and pride.
3. Who we are in our darkest moment is who we are in the light. Nursing is a faithful and noble profession; a service that ministers hope to the dying and care to the living. A demonstration of love and humanity. If one's character is not aligned and essential values are not practiced in the closet, then it would be less likely for a nurse to positively impact her environment and those under her care.
The last point of interest would be beneficial for healthcare providers in changing the overall landscape of Philippine Health Care for the very reason that what we practice in the dark is what will be in the light. A professional nurse holds the role of a leader, educator, service provider and change agent for the community. She is responsible for upholding standards of health and influencing the environment to meet those standards. Admiral William H. McRaven says, "If you want to change the world you must be your best in your darkest moments." Through the process of becoming a healthcare professional, one developes leadership in the most unsuitable environments, challenging times, and dark hours. How one undergoes this process will determine what carries over into the professional landscape, shaping the world.

A Student Nurse in the Time of COVID-19
Graduation ceremony this year is cancelled due to a sudden spike of Corona virus cases. A momentary nuisance to most. I've found a blessing.
Eternity in man's heart.
Somehow moments like this feel as if God has responded to the silent prayer of my heart. There's gotta be more to this next level than walking across a stage. Yes this is favor in disguise.
Birth pangs, manifestation come. Is this child still-born? No, this star is coming out whole. It's been spoken.
Greatness that cannot be hidden. An answer to the world's problems. Starry eyes. A light, a voice, a hand to feed the nations. Jesus lives in me, the Hope of Glory. Complete healing and deliverance. Beyond my wildest dreams.
It's time to study.

First Post
I’m beginning again. Simply to write freely. For how long? Just before the winter comes. Before the clam’s shell closes and the pearl is hidden away forever.
There are many perplexing moments in life. I’d like to take a highlighter and remember only her life-giving revelations, lessons worth keeping. It’s what’s passed on: My heritage. We’re learning to live well to die, you know?
I won’t remember the frustrating nights laying in bed, planning and envisioning. Not the minutes wasted away at the corner of indecision, praying for the old way. I’m letting it out because I’m aging, and time is too precious to waste.
Unrelenting. Much is required, much to do. I realize I’m still in the heat, processing. This time of preparation is key. I’ll put it to words and follow the instruction of the Lord.
I know I’m hidden while my head is covered. He’s molding me. There’s glory in the pain. A beautiful glory.
