“O SON OF MAN! Should prosperity befall thee, rejoice not, and should abasement come upon thee, grieve not, for both shall pass away and be no more.” Bahá’u’lláh #winteryouthconference2017 (at Milton Keynes)

~Film: Loving Vincent ~ Never knew much about his art or story however this film was a game changer. The narrative was hand painted , experienced through the lens of his paintings in post-impressionist style adapted to the movie by 100 artists stirring both sad but also inspiring emotions such as an immense appreciation for an artist that gave his life for his art regardless of him never being understood or appreciated. Art in all its forms is not for people’s personal feelings of superiority to be satisfied...it’s not something you read about and recite to your friends, it’s something felt, able to generate thoughts and emotions that are able to uplift your soul. It makes me wonder. We all love art, we all agree it’s nice however how much is it appreciated? How much is it prioritised and not left behind like a nice little side project? How many of us actually praise those who dedicate a lifetime to their art and do not look down at them for not keeping it as a “hobby”. How hypocritical it is then to glory when we visit an art gallery but mock those who struggle for their art when those artists who we so proudly appreciate actually had to sacrifice to create and were never appreciated? In fact half of us wouldn’t and didn’t dare to direct so much effort and dedication for no guarantee of the end result. where it not for their selfless dedication to their passion I am afraid to say there wouldn’t be much beauty in our world. Because while we busy ourselves with things that are packaged labelled as “productive” we forget that our souls are able to be physically present into our lives as well. Through arts. “I want to touch people with my art. I want them to say: he feels deeply. he feels tenderly.” Vincent Van Gogh “I rejoice to hear that thou takest pains with thine art, for in this wonderful new age, art is worship. The more thou strivest to perfect it, the closer wilt thou come to God...that is to say, when thy fingers grasp the paintbrush, it is as if thou wert at prayer in the Temple” ~Bahá’u’lláh

“The aim of this Wronged One in sustaining woes and tribulations, in revealing the Holy Verses and in demonstrating proofs hath been naught but to quench the flame of hate and enmity, that the horizon of the hearts of men may be illumined with the light of concord and attain real peace and tranquillity. From the dawning-place of the divine Tablet the day-star of this utterance shineth resplendent, and it behoveth everyone to fix his gaze upon it: We exhort you, O peoples of the world, to observe that which will elevate your station.” ~Celebrating the Bicentenary of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh~ 🌹💫 (at Bangor, Gwynedd)
