The science of naked attraction - The science that Channel 4′s show ‘Naked Attraction’ uses to understand why their contestants make the decisions that they do. Essentially, all features that are found attractive about different physiques are to do with fertility and survival strengths. This resource will be really useful for determining why characters are designed the way they are when obeying to the law of attraction.

Year 2 showreel. I have tweaked some bits so actions happen on the beat more and follow the music more. As I have said before, I am not particularly please with it as it doesn’t contain much work that I am proud of, or that I could use to get a job that I want. This is because I am still new to animation and therefore don’t create work that I am proud of yet as I am still learning lots.

This is my website. I am happy with it as I think it reflects me and my style. As I finish university and start to enter the industry, I will tweak it and update it when necessary.

This is out still for the film. The composition here is off balanced but it advertises a story that is just a click away. It also shows off our entire colour palette and the variety of assets that we have made in order to follow this conversation. It is an interesting shot and if I saw this on the listening project page, I would click on this to see how this makes sense and fits with what anyone could be talking about.

My experimentation reel showing the development of my ideas and designs. It also includes when we changed our idea completely and ended up moving the sections around too.
Visually, our group’s idea has rigidly stuck to a colour scheme, so in that regards there was minimal development. As for the assets I was modelling, I tried to be creative with the dolls house with the wonky chimneys, windows and saturated colours. Then with the assets for the second plan, they were low poly models with beveled edges so they were more child-friendly whilst still looking somewhat simple. I also played around with some of the clouds which I have included here even though they weren’t used in the final piece, they were the dispersion that we were wanting for the final piece and this helped Michael figure out what to do. Finally, the development reel shows the addition of smoothed animation which from comparison with y work from last year, is much better, I think this is thanks to life drawing and constantly reminding myself about the 12 principles for a better outcome.

Invoice
My invoice came to £2000 which sounds like a lot when I compare it to previous jobs that I have had but also for how much work we actually produced. It feels weird asking for that much money when in actual fact most of it was spent on making assets that were actually not needed and weren’t used in the final production. I guess this is part of the job though, as I used my time to make this thing that they decided they didn’t want.

Elisha and Charlotte – The Best Thing That Ever Happened
Animators: Catriona Carswell, Michael Chapman, Amy Howard, Eleanor Linder, Isabel Pazos, Zoe Walker
Course: BA Animation at Norwich University of the Arts
The animators say: We chose the audio clip ‘The Best Thing That Ever Happened’ from the BBC listening project, our group loved the conversation between the two sisters and admired their positive outlook on life and their situation. As the sisters talk about adoption and family we wanted to represent them doing fun activities that any family might do, whilst following what Elisha and Charlotte were saying.

This is my time-sheet for this project. I thought that I had worked more than I actually had, but I realised that I would be doing research and work for other projects

I asked some of my freinds to look over my proposal, and they recommended I look at He-Man instead of Popeye for a hyper masculine character.

His character intelligence is set up to suggest that his physique and mentality is set up to imply that he is the good guy and to be bad is to not be him.

Ideas for thought:
Male character design:
Look at superheroes who do not have the typical muscular physique and how they are represented as a joke. Eg. The blob - Marvel
Watchmen, and how superheroes are becoming more human in intellect.
Specify a super hero that you want to look at --> Eg. Mr Incredible --> look at costumes and whether they just rely on the logo and colours or add padding to allude to his great strength.

Our final 1920X1080 edit for the BBC 4 listening project. Obviously if we get selected and asked to make more changes we will make them, but in regards for this submission, this is the final outcome.

We were told to charge £200 a day which from using my time sheet I have worked out one day to equal 8 - 9 hours.

Selfridges’ agender clothing line - to suit less gender steered customers.
The pop up department was turnde in to more of an exhibition that was ‘sought to destroy gender stereotypes at every turn.’
"There’s been a big change in what men and women are wearing," - Toogood
"More and more, the boundary is blurred. It’s definitely reflected socially and politically. When I was designing [Agender], I was certainly aware that the issue goes slightly deeper than whether men and women will just shop in the same space. I think we realise now that gender is not binary, we are all individuals, and essentially gender is a fluid thing." - Toogood
“Agender is trying to do something a bit subtler than ‘women in suits and men in dresses’”
The video included at the end of this article, is a commissioned piece for Selfridges called He She Me. It features all agender dancers and displays the diversity.
