◈┄ JOHAN ANDERSEN’S ANCESTOR - THEORY / HC ┄◈

[ REVAMPED ]

* I say ancestor, but I have no idea what the antonym for Reincarnation is so

G’DAY MATE! Stop scrollin’ and read this yo!

Buckle up peeps, because this is going to be a long but amazing ride.

I’m sure most of you have seen my garbage joke presentation about Crystal Protector being Johan Andersen’s ancestor. And here, I’m going to re-explain and elaborate on it… And also dump my HC/paralleled hypothetical theory about Haou’s tragic™ past.

◈┄ INTRODUCTION ┄◈

So have a look at this. I know I bring this up all the time but this is very important and is basically what shaped this theory!

We have our two boys meeting for the first time and this is what they say to each other!

“I’ve got a strange feeling about you.”

“Same here. It’s like this isn’t the first time we’ve met.”

This implies that:

◈┄ They may have had some kind of connection in the past…

And by past, I mean… In a different life.

We’ve established that these two boyos have some kind of connection. So it’s rather natural to think of their past, right?

Besides, Yu-gi-oh! Has a history of making reincarnation references and whatnot. With GX, it’s sprinkled here and there.

We know that Juudai = Haou’s reincarnation

So with those two lines above, it’s safe to assume Johan has one too– that might’ve been close to Haou…!

◈┄ WHO IS JOHAN’S ANCESTOR? ┄◈

Time to dispute a certain theory.

I’m pretty sure most of us have thought of… this ↑

…I’m going to say this now, but it’s absolutely ridiculous. I don’t think you could even call this a theory from all the things that go against it. Johan is NOT Yubel’s reincarnation.

Let me explain!

Let’s all think about this logically. To be reincarnated, you have to firstly, die, right? The whole purpose of reincarnating is going through that process of rebirthing.

Yubel hasn’t died, though. Yubel essentially has been transformed into a card/duel spirit that was eventually found by Juudai’s dad in the modern era– therefor, Johan is not Yubel’s reincarnation.

Also, think about the purpose of Yubel’s card and their effect. Exactly.

Now, since that’s out of the way. I propose to you the theory:

Crystal Protector/Guardian and Crystal Vanguard, or TCG wise, Crystal Keeper and Crystal Master are Crystal Beast support cards that were released in 2014 in The Secrets of Evolution (Secrets of Eternity) pack on the 15th of November.

I’m not going 2 type their full names every time I refer to them so I’ve given them names that you may be familiar with:

Vanguard: Sakimu

Protector: Mamoru.

I know what you’re thinking.

“WHOA IS THAT YUBEL JOHAN AND BLONDE JOHAN!?”

You’re on the right track ;)

Whoa, uncanny!

Now, this brings us to the next question: Which one is Johan’s ancestor?

I stared at these two images of Mamo and Saki for a while, trying to figure out who they were (to each other). Are Mamoru and Sakimu twins? Brothers? Friends? Rivals? No, they’re… The same person.

Also, in case you haven’t noticed. Yes. I am implying that Johan is the reincarnation of Mamoru.

And before I forget, let me add that it makes sense that the Crystal Beasts chose Johan because Johan’s ancestor protected them.

◈┄ HAOU AND MAMORU’S RELATIONSHIP ┄◈

Remember the first thing I pointed out when I started this post? Yeah. Let’s bring it back.

“I’ve got a strange feeling about you.”

“Same here. It’s like this isn’t the first time we’ve met.”

I have a headcanon that Mamoru and Haou were friends. Best friends, in fact. Just like Johan and Juudai! This line from the show, like I said earlier, implies that they had some kind of relationship in the past. Chances are, they were close then because look at how well they get along even now… SpiritShip is Infinite.

◈┄ SAKIMU IS MAMORU WHO IS CORRUPTED BY THE LOD (and the Evilswarm)

Although The Light of Destruction is a ‘malevolent celestial entity’ that possesses people, it also can influence and corrupt– the same way it did to Yubel.

We know that there are different ways in which someone can be corrupted by the LoD (Light of Destruction)

DD, aka The D (istillcantgetoverthisname) was corrupted by the LoD, but unlike Yubel, he was….. semi-possessed by it??? like,,, he had control of his own body, but he was also hearing the voice of the LoD ?

Yubel on the other hand bathed in the LoD’s light and went insane in space..

Anyways, I think Mamoru got corrupted in the way that DD did,

look at this:

When someone’s possessed (not influenced) by the LoD, their eyes turn red.

Mamoru wasn’t in space (at least im pretty sure he wasn’t), I think this makes sense???

So in conclusion: Mamo had the LoD manipulating him into doing shit then eventually went insane. There are other factors but to those who don’t want to get too deep and need it simple, this serves as an easily digestible reason.

As for the people who want to know more about the other way in which he got corrupted, (yes. double corruption my friends. it explains Sakimu’s appearance too.) You can read the rest of the theory [ here ]

◈┄ STORY TIME ┄◈

I managed to piece together something with all this info which like I said earlier, draws parallels to the GX S3 canon.

Haou is the Prince and the wielder of Gentle Darkness who’s role is to fight the LoD. We know there’s some kind of war between Light and Dark.

Now imagine: At some point, The LoD is like “Frig. What’s the easiest way to defeat the darkness?”

*CUE THE DESTRUCTIVE LIGHT LOOKING AT M A M O *

“WHAT’S BETTER THAN MANIPULATING AND CORRUPTING THE PRINCE’S BFF!?”

Voila! we have a corrupted Mamo! Aka Sakimu.

Haou is conflicted because he has to fight his best friend, Mamo. But here’s where things get extremely angsty. Yubel – probably convinces Haou to fight Mamo and defeat him because ‘saving the Kingdom is more important’. Probably because they want Haou to themselves and is jealous of the bond Mamo and Haou share, as shown in s3 of gx with spiritship. So Haou … Kills Mamoru. Like how Judai kills his friends in season 3. And since Mamoru isn’t possessed– just corrupted, he actually and quite literally dies.

And since he died, it explains how Johan is Mamoru’s reincarnation.

This also explains Haou’s attitude towards things in season 3??? He’s able to kill his friends without hesitation. He has this stone wall guarding him and it’s all because of PTSD and trauma from killing Mamoru.

Because how do you go from tiny cute bean prince in a beautiful kingdom to genocidal warlord that lives in the corner of hell?
