Not Her Man
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x Childhood friend!Reader
Chapter Synopsis: Feathers fall gracefully slow
Warning: Girlrotting
Word Count: 3193
Part 1 • Part 3
Tumblr media
You were always scared to do drugs.
You saw Rafe at his highs, you were with him, keeping him from doing anything stupid like when he was so sure he could backflip from Tanneyhill’s rooftop and land on the grass perfectly.
But you also wondered how difficult it was for him to get clean.  To suffer from withdrawals.  And as you lie on your fur carpet, staring at the glimmering crystals of your chandelier, with your closet half emptied and scattered all around your room, along with rolling wine bottles on the polished hardwood floor of your bedroom, you think you might have understood just a little.
Blocking him was the hardest thing you have ever done in your life, especially when it was your routine to giggle over whatever interaction you had through text that day.  The itch to open his account for any update made you want to bind your hands together.
Your parents are out of the country, busy overseeing their business, forgetting to oversee their daughter.  Your maids were there for you, at least they try to be.  They bring you food on schedule, even sliding in a few scoops of ice cream every now and then in your room when your sobs start to echo around the halls.
Rafe tried to contact you multiple times.  First, through your phone, but you blocked him.  Next, he tried to throw pebbles at your window, but your seventy-six year old gardener fired a shotgun at him, thinking that he was a burglar.  Next, he tried a different approach, he was sending you gigantic bouquets of your favorite flowers, making the hallway leading to your room look like a wedding set up, the flowers perfumed the entire house too, drawing a concerning amount of bees.  One epipen to your chef’s thigh later, Rafe stops sending them.
He never really does anything right.  All he does is mess up, create more problems for himself.  You almost wanted to give in, but you remind yourself of the things he said.  Anger and hurt quickly replaces pity.
A familiar chime of your phone had you groaning.  Your friends are probably going to have another attempt of making you step out of your room, like inviting you to have your nails done or shop, just to get your mind off of Rafe.
You just let the ringtone end and you go back to staring at the chandelier, wondering if you’ll be quick enough to get out of the way if it somehow falls.  Before you can plan a strategic roll, your phone rings again.
Blindly reaching underneath the scattered pillows, you finally locate the buzzing device.  You answer without looking at the caller ID.
“Y/N speaking.”  You mumble lazily.
“Hey, girlie.”  There goes the high-pitched voice of your friend.  “Sooo, the girls and I-hush!”  You hear a bunch of girls giggling behind the line and your brows crease together in annoyance.  “We’re going on a party tonight and we’re thinking that maybe you’d liketocomewithus?”
You play with the lace of your dress, eyes just following the patterns when you hear your name being called again over the phone.
“I’m not in the mood for parties.”
“You are never in the mood for anything anymore.”  She whines behind the line.  Her tone prompts you to sit up to pick up the stale wine you left out in the open for too long.  Taking a sip and ignoring the thin coat of dust it caught after you ransacked your closet for something that made you look confident, only for you to end up squeezing in the dress that Rafe got you as a present for your 13th birthday.  He didn’t pick it out for you, of course, but it still made you all fizzy and bubbly and excited inside.
You put down the wine to scratch at the waistband that is digging on the skin of your under bust, the fabric being stretched beyond its capacity.
“I know.”  You tried to sound apologetic.  “I just can’t, okay?”
She sighs, making you let out a grateful sigh.  There’s still some ceiling viewing you had to get back to.
“I’m picking you up at seven.”  She speaks with finality and before you can answer, she continues.  “Please don’t let that awful man get the satisfaction of knowing that he has this much effect on you.”  You can hear her begging behind the phone.  She and the other girls are just looking out for you.
With an unwilling heart, you decide to get on your feet, your socked foot nearly slipping the moment it touches the wooden floor.  Cursing, you finally crouch on the piled up clothes you threw earlier.
“Fine, I’ll come.”  You roll your eyes.  “Dresscode?”
You hear an airy chuckle and you can imagine her pinching your cheeks if you were within her reach.  “Party’s open to all, Kooks or Pogues.  In the community beach house.  You dress however you like.  I’ll match your vibe, if you’d like.”
This makes a smile creep on your lips.  She’s definitely on the top 10 list of the most annoying people you know but you thank God everyday for a friend like her.  “You know I love you, right?”
She snorts before bursting out in a fit of laughter.  “Duh.  I love you too.”
“See you later.”  You grin.  “Tell the girls I’m coming too.”
“Sure, see you!”
You hang up and get started on searching for the right outfit.  Well, there’s the classic white flowy dresses, but everybody wears them.  You could wear a short and a cute top, show some belly?  Blech, you’re not exactly in one of your maneater moods.  But perhaps if you covered it with that oversized white pinstriped polo, it could work?  Yeah, something casual yet put together.  It’s not like you’re dressing to impress anybody, or somebody in particular, you’d prioritize comfort over fashion tonight.
A knock on your bedroom door pulls you from your thoughts.  With a shrug, you throw your chosen clothes on your bed.
“Coming.”  You call while trudging over to open the door.  There stood your maid, she was looking anxious, wringing her wrinkly hands.  “What is it?”
She glances at your odd choice of clothing before she looks away so as to not make you uncomfortable.  “Well, uhm, Sir Cameron is here again, miss.  He’s waiting for you downstairs, in the drawing room.”
You press your lips in a firm line.  “Tell him I’m not here.”
Your maid smiles apologetically.  “He…he saw you in your bedroom window before he came in, miss.”
Huffing, you tap your feet impatiently.  “Just tell him I’m busy.”
“He said you’ll say that.”  She mutters, amusement in her tone.  “And he asked us to tell you that he can wait.”
You close your eyes to keep them from rolling.  “Whatever, he can stay as long as he likes, but I’m not coming down to meet him.”  You push the door a little wider and your maid’s eyes widen at the state of your room.  “I’m sorry, I know you’re busy but can you help me clean up?”
The rest of the afternoon was spent tidying up your room.
It was dark out, a couple of minutes past seven when your phone buzzed.  Knowing that it’s your girlfriends, you pick your bag, filled with the usual party necessities and head downstairs.  It’s a habit, assigning yourself as the responsible friend who stays sober to look after the others.
You are slipping in the pearl bracelet your grandmother got for you last Christmas when you hear your name being called and in instinct, you turn around.
“Oh, right.”  You say with a tone that is drier than the Sahara desert.  “You’re here.”
Rafe’s standing just outside your drawing room, his hands falling to his side.
“Yeah.”  He spoke awkwardly, his eyes glancing at your outfit, familiarity crossing them before he looked at your eyes again.  “I was waiting for you.”
You exhale softly and he just stood there, waiting for your reaction.
“I know.”  You say simply.  “Gotta go.”  You start walking again to your door.
“Wait, Y/N.” He easily catches up.  “You’re…you’re coming to the party, right?”  He asks hopefully.
“Yes.”  You respond without looking at him.
Rafe smiles but it quickly dissipates when he sees a different car waiting for you.  “Hold on, I can drive you there.”  He says quickly, his hand gripping yours just to get you to listen to him.  “I can drive you to the party.”  He says in an uncharacteristically sheepish way.
For a second, you look at him, really look at him.  His smile grows wide.  He missed having your eyes on him.  You’re his best friend, and he’s used to doing everything with you by his side.  He also liked how dependent you were on him too, always asking for his approval.  You have a bit of an overbearing attitude but he would be lying if he’ll say that he doesn’t miss you doting on him too.  Perhaps you’re not the only one who’s dependent on this odd friendship you both have.
“No, thank you.”  You say before pulling your hand away with a sharp look thrown his way.  He watches you walk away to greet your friends.  He’s still stuck there, staring, even after the car drives away.
He doesn’t understand it.
You’re the emotional one, why are you doing so well without him?  You never go to parties with other people, it was always him that you stick close to.  Clinging on him, pulling him to the dance floor when he’s about to do a line of coke, or accidentally knocking his cup when he’s had too much drinks.
Running a hand through his face, Rafe decides to hop on his car and follow you to the party.  You’ll be in the same space as him in the next few hours.  He’ll get another chance there.  He’s certain of it.
He didn’t get the chance.
With you by his side all the time, you memorized his set of activities at parties and you evaded him perfectly.  Rafe decided that it was best to stand by the punch table.  You’d get thirsty eventually, and he’ll be there waiting if you do.
On the other side of the house, farthest from Rafe, there you sit by the porch swing, admiring the push and pull of the waves.  The party was at its climax and everybody was cramped inside the house, dancing and drinking, or doing unholy activities.  You don’t know how you managed to slip away from your friends but you’re glad you did.  You needed the fresh air.
You’re just starting to get comfortable when a man stumbles out the door.  You watch him struggle to keep himself up.  He looked lost? Or just flat out drunk.  You watch in amusement as he scratches his blonde head, he must be having a whiplash from all the blinding neon lights inside and suddenly his vision switches to the bright light provided by the LEDs.
His feet twist and he starts to fall to the side, your head tilting to follow his fall.  You wince when you hear the loud thud of his body hitting the floor, followed by his muffled but loud groaning.
“Motherfu-”  He sits on the floor, his legs sprawled out in front of him as he shakes his head like a dog.
“You alright, JJ?”  You chuckle.
He whips his head to you, cursing again when his vision spins.  “Y/N?”  He drawls out while rubbing his eyes.  “You saw everything?”
Still laughing, you get up to crouch next to him.  “I did.”  You smile when he groans out again.  “Are you okay?”
He props up a knee and rests an arm there, he looks buzzed, his eyes are heavily lidded as he stares off into the ocean.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”  He glances at you.  “Well, this is a strange sight.”
“What is?”  You mumble as you look away from him, deciding to play dumb.
He shrugs animatedly, hands gesturing to you and the entire space of the porch.  “Usually, wherever you are, your boyfriend is not that far behind.”  He points a thumb behind him.  “And if I wasn’t imagining it, I’m pretty sure I just saw him brooding over the drinks.”
You chuckle dryly as you bring your knees to your chest.  “He’s not my boyfriend.”
JJ looks at you with an unimpressed face.  “That’s all you heard.”
Playfully punching his shoulder, you sigh.  “We fought.”
He frowns, back straightening immediately.  “He didn’t hurt you, did he?”  It’s kind of sweet how your words seemed to have sobered him really quick.
“No!  No, he didn’t.”  You reply right away.  “Well, at least not physically.”
You watch him grimace.  “Outside physical fights, I have little to no idea how to respond.”
“That’s okay, JJ.  I don’t wanna talk about it, anyway.”
He gives you a boyish grin, as if to reassure you before scratching at his jaw, your eyes mindlessly follow his movements and you see a scratch.
“You’re hurt.”  You tell him, pointing at your own jaw.
“Huh?”  He touches his jaw and winces.  “Ow!  Must’ve scratched myself when I…uhm.”
“When you decided to attack the floor.”  You finish for him and he clears his throat.  “You’ll have to disinfect it.”
“Pfft, it’s fine.”  He shakes his head.  “It’s just a scratch.”
But you are already grabbing your bag by the swing and you return with a small kit.
“I forgot to bring wipes.”  You mumble before crouching down in front of him.  He swallows at your close proximity.  “Come on, JJ.  It’s just antibacterial cream.”
He hesitantly shows you his face and you gently apply the cream, tutting when he dramatically pulls away.
You grab his face and tilt it slightly and JJ squeezes his eyes.
“It fucking stings.”  He nearly whines, making you roll your eyes.
“Don’t be a baby!”  You huff and he stays still for a second, allowing you to smear the cream evenly and he rolls away from you as soon as you’re done.
JJ was muttering about God knows what while you’re busy putting your stuff away.  When you sit next to him again, he’s much calmer, a lazy smile back on his face again.
“Thanks, Y/N.”
You throw him a playful glare.  “You’re welcome.”
He touches the scratch and you almost tell him off but he quickly pulls his hand away.
“Why didn’t Cameron make you his girl?”
You blow out a big sigh.  “He doesn’t like me.”
“Bullshit.”  He laughs but he clears his throat when you look at him unamused.  “Sorry.”
“It’s fine.”  You smile at him genuinely before averting your eyes.  “I wouldn’t blame him.  I mean, you saw how I can be.”  You chuckle this time but there’s no humor on JJ’s face, he’s looking at you rather sadly.  “I care too much and everybody suffocates around me.”
“I don’t.”  He says quickly.  “I was just being dramatic earlier.”  He rubs his nape.  “I’m not used to having people tend to me, I mostly just do it myself.”  He seeks your eyes and you finally look at him.
You hear a creak behind you but before you can look, JJ cups your face to keep you from breaking your eye contact, making your breath hitch.
“I liked being taken care of like that.”  He whispers and your lips part slightly.
“JJ.”  You say breathlessly and he grins, his face leaning dangerously close to you.  “You’re drunk.”
He gently bites his bottom lip and you have to look away from his blatant flirting.  “I’m sober enough to kiss, I promise.”
This…this isn’t right.
You gently push him away and his lips immediately form a pout.  “You’re such a kid, JJ.”
He clicks his tongue and angrily stoops as he glares at the ocean.  “You had no idea how long it took me to build the courage to do that.”
“Five minutes?”  You jokingly bump his shoulders, making his act break at the edges, a smile threatening to crack on his lips.  “Seriously, J, I can’t kiss drunk guys.  It’s unethical.”
He mimics you in a childish voice and buries his face on his palms harshly.  He turns to you again, with his hair disheveled and sticking to his forehead and red blotches appearing on some areas of his face.  “I’m not as drunk as you think I am.”  The way he glances at your lips had your throat drying up.  “I really wanted to kiss you.”  Aside from Rafe, you have little to no experience with the male attention and frankly, you don’t know what to do.
You place a hand on his shoulder and stiffly pat it twice.  “You’ll get over it.”
JJ looks at you exasperatedly.  “You’re taking this too lightly, this is my feelings we are talking about.”
You stifle a laughter.  “Oh, so you have feelings for me.”  You raise a brow at him and he nods his head enthusiastically.
“Every guy on this island has a thing for you.”  He says animatedly.  “If it wasn’t for your bodyguard, we would have made our move long ago.”
You are deeply flattered, you can’t resist the girlish smile from tugging on your lips, your cheeks slowly heating up.
“You’re just saying that to make me feel better.”
He looks deeply offended and places a hand on his chest.
“You’re the ultimate dream girl, stupid!”  He dodges a punch from you.  “You’re like the total package.  You’re sweet, and smart, you’re also very pretty, you can be funny too when you let loose.”  He wiggles his eyebrows at you and this pulls a laughter from you, a real, genuine laughter that had your shoulders shaking.
“When are you gonna get serious, J?”  Wiping the tears from the corner of your eyes, you get up.  “Wait here, I’ll get us a drink.”
He gives you a two finger salute before lying smack down on the floor, with his arms spread out.  You shake your head, chuckling when you open the door.
And your hair stands on end.
There stood the very person you have been avoiding the entire night.
But for once, he isn’t wearing a scowl or a condescending cocky smile.
He was looking at you like a man defeated and broken.
“Rafe.”  You whisper as you reach for him but you stop yourself before your skin can touch.  He looks at your hand and then your eyes.  You don’t know if it’s the trick of light but you could have sworn his eyes are glassy.
“Hey, Y/N, everything alright?”  JJ calls.
Rafe glances at JJ and then back at you, he nods slowly as he takes a step back.  Your heart aches as you watch him take another step away from you but you will yourself not to follow.  He runs a hand on his mouth and he turns away from you.
You stare at his back as he leaves, torn between choosing your own pride or running after him.  For what seemed like hours, you stood there, frozen.  Still lost in the onslaught of emotions that surged through you.

Randy Meeks was dead, and there was no way to change that.
He’d been murdered, brutally; his body in tatters, bloody mess left on the stockroom floor of the video store he’d worked at. Police had said it was a homicide, just another in a series of attacks by the infamous masked ‘Ghostface’ killer that had been running around Woodsboro. The whole town, your friend group included, had been speculating the person – or people’s - identity, wondering if they were male or female, old or young, insider or outsider...either way, the sole question was why. Why Woodsboro? Why now? Why your friends?
The simple answer – in Randy’s case at least – was that you were living in a classic horror movie, in which none of you would get out of alive unless you followed the rules, (which was the sole reason why you hadn’t slept with him during your relationship) but that particular answer was far from satisfying to you. First Sidney’s mother had disappeared, next was Casey and her boyfriend, soon followed by Sidney’s father, Tatum, Randy and Sidney herself, leaving only you to remain. You were, as Randy would dub it, ‘the final girl’.
And you hated it. Randy painted these women as strong, brave, heroic, even, but you were far from it; instead worn down and shattered by the massacre of those closest to you over the past six months. There was a reason that the term was only reserved for the movies; it was too difficult, maybe even downright impossible to be able to fight back in real life, especially when it had happened so constantly and so close to home. There were few words you had to speak anymore, and when you did you found that they were only able to materialise around Billy Loomis.
Billy, and his friend Stu Macher were the only of those that remained. Randy would’ve chalked it down to it being intentional, but the only pattern you could see was that they were killing ‘boy-girl-boy-girl’, which meant either of the two could’ve been next.
So, imagine your shock – and horror – when Stu had gone missing, leaving nothing but a bloodied shoe in his wake. It was the only death of your friends that you hadn’t been to; no morgue visits or ceremonies, with Billy choosing to spend the day with you after he claimed that the Macher’s had just wanted family at his funeral. You would’ve been hurt, but considering you’d spent the past few months feeling like a curse, you were rather happy to keep your distance.
“Thanks for staying with me…” you sighed, rubbing your red eyes. You’d been crying over Randy again, and although Billy wasn’t someone who liked dealing with emotions, he’d been a shoulder to cry on – literally – his silence giving you space to vent. “I’m sorry, I’m such a mess…”
“I think you’re taking this too hard,” he said simply, watching you intently as you tried to compose yourself. “None of this is your fault. There are psychos everywhere.”
“Yeah, but why us? How am I still here?” you gasped, the question blatantly rhetorical.
“Luck. And skill. You’ve been in the right place at the right time,” he sniffed. “Maybe the killer doesn’t want you dead...”
“Oh, that’s comforting.” You scoffed, dabbing at your nose with a tissue. He didn’t reply, but he tapped his finger impatiently along the edge of the sofa as his eyes roamed your body.
You used to be such a sweet little thing; always dolled up in your signature clothes and makeup, but now you were timid, a recluse, even, walking around in Randy’s old shirts and running on two hours of sleep (if that). He couldn’t argue – solely because he’d been the one to cause this - but in time he’d get you back to the way you were. In fact, he might’ve even enjoyed this broken version of you even more; with swollen lips, a melancholy glow, and a psyche that was desperate for affection that only your former boyfriend could’ve given to you.
Killing Randy had been exhilarating. It’d been all too easy, the boy practically boasted about his job (and therefore his schedule), and then it had been down to hiding in the stock room on his late shift, only to lunge at him from the shadows, pointed blade digging in and ravaging his pale flesh, all the while he screamed – even cried – your name. That was your knight in shining armour, a guy who’d failed to follow the rules he swore to live by. Pathetic.
He’d shown him his face right before he died, remembering the way his eyes, though dull and rubber like a fish, had seemingly shone with recognition. He’d put the pieces together, simply far too late.
“Don’t worry, Randy,” he’d said. “I’ll take good care of your little girlfriend.”
Even in his moribund state, the nerd had known what he’d meant, his eyes flickering with worry just as the life had snapped out of him, the whole situation comically cinematic. All that was next was to kill Sidney, the girl that Randy adored before you’d even transferred to Woodsboro. It was simple; Sidney was collateral, and you were a spoil of war. And there was no one left to save you.
“I think you should go outside,” Billy said bluntly. “Being inside all day isn’t good for your head.”
You sighed and wiped your face, glancing around your living room. Truthfully, you couldn’t remember the last time you’d opened the curtains; much less when was the last time you’d gotten off the couch. The television was always on, and you’d done nothing but aimlessly flick through the channels, both avoiding yet drawing yourself to the news, hoping there’d be an update on the killer. It struck you as odd that it had all gone silent.
“Like...Where?” you said incredulously, and Billy resisted the urge to sigh.
“We could go to the movies,” he suggested. “It’ll be on me. I’ll even let you watch those terrible romance ones with the sappy endings.”
You seemed to perk up at this, glancing over at the time on the clock across the room. It was 6:15, and if you showered quick enough (and found some clean, unwrinkled clothes) you could make it to a random seven o’clock screening. It was kind enough that Billy was here with you, but offering to take you to a romance film took selfishness out of the question – he was a true friend, treating you in the same way he had Sidney.
You, like many others, had joked about how perfect he was, often wishing that Randy had been the same way. He’d been nice, without a doubt, but sometimes he was erratic and clingy (some would say annoying), whereas Billy was far more level-headed and relaxed, evident through his constant support. It was time for you to smile, even if it would be temporary.
“Okay...” You whispered with a weak smile, standing to your feet. “Give me a minute, I’m just gonna freshen up.”
Billy’s deep brown eyes followed your figure as you walked past him and disappeared up the stairs. Sitting for a moment, he stared at the blaring screen of the television before shutting it off. Considering your state, he’d been surprised that it had been that easy, but apparently all it took for a girl to come around was the promise of a free outing and cliche love stories. The silence was telling – your parents weren’t around – and he pondered your reaction to his arrival in your bedroom...for company, of course.
Pushing himself up from the couch, he followed you, his shoes barely making a noise as he made his way up the steps before stopping at your bedroom door, being a gentleman and taking his shoes off before he entered. A crack of light from the doorway of the bathroom told him that it was occupied, and so he took it as a signal to enter your threshold, wasting no time in rummaging through your drawers.
He ran his lithe fingers over the outlines of your bra, following the soft cotton and curved shape as he imagined holding your tits in his hands, groping and tugging on them as you rode his cock, screaming and moaning his name so loudly that you forgot all about your idiot boyfriend.
It was the same with your panties, except he wanted to cut them off you, to watch as your legs trembled from trying to avoid the blade; only to get nipped, ruby rivulets trickling down your thighs. He’d rub it, smear the substance across your skin as he tried to soothe you, your fluids coating his skin and fingernails, only to been mixed with the translucent l cream of your orgasm – over and over and over again.
Sitting down on the edge of your bed, he waited for you to come in, raising his brows at your squeal upon seeing him. You were only in a dressing gown, with your bra peeking out of the sides of the fluffy material. If he wasn’t already hard, he certainly was now.
“Billy!” You gasped. “I told you to wait downstairs!”
“I got bored,” he shrugged. “I wanted to see more of you.”
You gave him a pointed look as you scraped your earrings off the dresser, clipping them on as you paced around the room in search of an outfit.
“You know me,” you chuckled. “We’ve been friends for a year.”
“Yeah, but do you ever really know someone?” He said softly, his gaze locked on your own as he cocked his head, blinking slowly at your confused expression. There was something unsettling about his tone, and you couldn’t help but think back to one of Randy’s many pained rants: “Never trust anyone. Everyone’s a suspect, even the love interest!” Did he know something you didn’t, or was he just being his typical, elusive self?
“I mean, come on now, Y/N. Look around. There’s no one left…just us. I think it’s time we got to know each-other.”
Pulling on some pants under your gown, you frowned.
“What’re you saying?”
“We should be closer than we are,” he said softly, reaching out a hand to fiddle with the strap of your gown leisurely, his eye contact fleeting, but coy. “How else are we going to get through this?”
Your eyes widened, and you gave Billy a once over as you contemplated the implications of his words. He’d never really been that much of the touchy type up until now, and it couldn’t be coincidental that all of a sudden he’d become so close to you. Perhaps it was the stress; the trauma of losing his friends that made him feel like he needed to fill the void. Or maybe it was genuine, that he wanted to stick through this real-life tragedy with you. Why else would he stay the long nights and weekends, watching TV with you or offering you his snacks?
“Y-You’re a good friend,” you stammered. “Really. But I just don’t know if I can let anyone close to me anymore. What if you get killed!?” You choked, and Billy pulled you to the side of him, pressing your head into the crook of his neck as you sobbed. Tracing small circles on your back, he let you fix yourself before he pulled away, staring into your eyes as he spoke.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said softly. “I promise. And you know why?”
You shook your head.
“I spoke to Randy a few days before he died. He was  paranoid – you know how he was – I guess you could say that he had a sense he was going to die…” Billy paused, eyes flickering with recognition before he swallowed and continued. “…He said that if anything were to happen to him, that I should be the one to take care of you. He knew how close you were with Sidney, and she’d have wanted the same.”
Shakily, your lips parted as you took a breath. Sidney, like many others, had always gushed about how sweet Billy was – particularly how patient he’d been when it’d come to having sex. It would only be logical for them to say that, given the fact that Stu was the only other candidate. No one else would’ve stuck beside you, putting up with your weeks of moping and incessant crying. It was only right that you started giving him some thanks. After all, he was all you had left.
“O-okay,” you smiled softly before wrinkling your nose. You were so close to Billy that strands of his hair was grazing against your face, and you could smell the faint scent of his cologne – icy, yet comforting. “I’m sorry,” you sighed. “I guess I got so wrapped up in thinking about Randy that I haven’t really been grateful to you. Come on, let’s go out —“
“This isn’t about the movies.” Billy interjected, his brows slightly  wrinkled. “This is about you. You’re a girl, and you have needs.”
You froze, always worried it would come to this.
“I can’t let you do that,” you said affirmatively. “You were with Sidney, she was my friend —“
“She’s gone now,” he said, zero inklings of emotion detected within his voice. “Just like Randy’s gone. I have needs too, you know. You’re not really being a good friend by ignoring them.”
“Billy…”
“You mean a lot to me,” he continued, placing a hand on your thigh, rubbing it in a slow but enticing manner. “I think about you a lot. I want to do more to help you…but you’re not letting me.”
You knew it was wrong to go there, but part of you knew that he had a point. There was no use in festering in misery; Randy, Sidney and the rest of your friends were gone for good, and there was ultimately nothing that would change that. All you could do was focus on what you had now, and that was Billy; patient, willing, and ready to carry out the wishes of your deceased friends. You just had to let him in.
Silently, you nodded, and he took that as confirmation to kiss you. His lips were warm and wanting, but certainly felt unfamiliar, and you found that it took you a while to find a suitable rhythm. Billy wasted no time in pushing you back onto the bed, kissing down your neck as he straddled you, the faint outline of his hardening cock brushing against your covered leg. His hands lingered on the tie of your robe, glancing down at it with a smirk before pulling it undone, exposing your semi-nude torso to the cool air of the bedroom.
Your heart leapt out of your chest; not because what you were doing was taboo, but because you’d never done it before. You were about to lose your virginity to your dead friend’s boyfriend – something that your cloudy mind couldn’t comprehend.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispered, leaving love bits on your chest as his fingers slipped under your bra and pinching and rubbing at the surrounding skin and sensitive nipples. “Randy didn’t know what he had…”
Letting out a moan, you allowed yourself to be consumed by him, pushing off his open button-up so that he was left in his white shirt. He didn’t look much, but his arms were surprisingly muscular, and you found yourself tracing along the outlines of his skin, inadvertently pulling him closer.
Billy pulled away, a smirk visible on his face as he unzipped his pants, sliding his trousers to his ankles before readjusting himself on the bed. Taking your hand, he guided you off the bed and brought you to your feet.
“Strip for me,” he lulled, watching you intently for a reaction. “I want to see how pretty you are…”
Nervously, you peeled the robe off your body, dropping it to the floor at the edge of your bed before undoing your pants, all under the watchful, jaded eyes of Billy Loomis. As cliched as it sounded, you felt like a bride on her wedding night, nerves released by Billy’s soothing coos and gentle touch. He patted the bed – yours, which you seemed to forget – and you laid down, taking laboured breaths as his brown locks disappeared between your thighs, skin breaking into goosebumps as he slid your panties down your legs.
“You’re wet...” he hummed, placing his index and middle together before rubbing your hood in small, deliberate circles. “I think you wanted me more than you let on.”
“B-Billy...” you gasped, shutting your eyes at the pleasurable sensation. “I-I’ve never...”
“Shh, I know, I know...” he whispered, his touch becoming rougher as he prodded and spread your lips apart, admiring your insides like some sort of fucked-up doctor. “ ‘M gonna make you feel good, but you need a little practise first...”
Billy began to finger you, withdrawing his digits every so often to admire the way the slickness of your arousal coated his skin, glossy and translucent, the feeling second only to the blood of his victims on his skin. As he curled his fingers within you, he found that you began to shake and clench; your orgasm abruptly evident.
As much as he wanted to indulge in it, he wanted to savour you – and so pulled his fingers out, earning a breathy whine from you. Hastily, he lowered his boxers, his erect cock jutting out like a weapon as he stalked you, pushing your body deep into the pillows as he straddled you.
“D-Do you have protection...?” you whispered meekly, and Billy could’ve came right there and then at the sight of you, lips parted and begging to be kissed as you gazed at him through your lashes.
“No...” he replied, watching the fear wash over your face. “But it’s ok. I was safe with Sidney, and you’ve never had sex, right? That means you’re good.”
Biting your lip, you debated protesting, but found it wasn't worth it. You wanted him – needed this – and you were already sinning by fucking your dead friends’ boyfriend. What did unprotected sex have on that?
“You’re right,” you said with a small smile, puffing your cheeks as you prepared for him to enter you. “Be gentle...”
“I wouldn’t dream of hurting you,” he said firmly, eyes unblinking as he adjusted himself at your entrance, the edge of his cock grazing against your folds. “We’re in this together, remember?”
You knew he meant it when he kissed you upon his penetration, his lips swallowing your whine as he entered you. He wasn’t by any means a stallion – simply averaged sized – but he filled you almost instantly, a dull ache forming around your walls as he began to thrust his hips up into you. If this was what sex was like; rhythmic, passionate, if not a little sharp-edged, then you were partially sad that you hadn’t got to experience it with Randy...the remaining deeply selfish part of you glad that it was with Billy.
He seemed to know every part of you, where to kiss, where to rub, where to hold – when to slow down and when to quicken, all adorned with his sweet nothings that he spoke into your neck, ever so occasionally peering up at you through his lashes, his exact thoughts elusive to you. He cared, right? Why else would he hold you so close to him, kiss your collarbone, rub and soothe your thighs as he rolled his hips deeper, your pelvises slapping against each other in the heat of the moment?
“You’re so tight,” he moaned as your lips gripped his bare shaft. “So good to me...Taking me so well...”
You whined, the sound getting lost under the slight creaking of the bed and the rustle of your bedsheets, tightening your arms around his neck as you drew him closer into you and running a hand through his hair. Billy was thankful, thankful that you couldn’t see his shit-eating smirk from this position onto of you, but much more for Randy; as if he hadn’t had been such a paranoid nerd, he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to imprint himself on you forever.
His strokes were deep and fulfilling, the head of his cock beginning to buck up into your g-spot, pleasure made more overwhelming as he reached down again to rub at your clit. It was dark, somewhat twisted, but it was perfect; and you could actually feel your anxieties disappear entirely. Who was Randy? Had you ever really loved him?
Even amongst your white haze as you got closer to the heat of your orgasm, you were able to make out the sound of a lock opening. Your eyes shot open, trying to piece together footsteps and visible signs of entry – Billy had been the only one to come in, perhaps he’d forgotten to lock the door? Or maybe it was your parents, home early from their outing? Worse, maybe it was the killer, dead on arrival like the Grim Reaper as soon as you’d gone against the rules and had sex.
“Billy —“ you gasped, squeezing your eyes shut as his cock hit your sensitive spot. “The door…I-I think someone’s here…”
“Shh, you’re okay…” he murmured into your ear. “I didn’t hear anything…”
A plunging, shaking feeling consumed you as you came, half-lidded eyes making out the shape of a gloved hand and knife creeping from behind the door. Instinctively, you opened your mouth to scream, but nothing came from it. All you could do was lie there, throat parched and the air knocked out of your lungs as you watched the figure enter the room; not hooded, masked or even bloody – but taking the shape and form of a tall, lanky boy with blonde hair.
Stu was alive, and Billy had lied to you.

Babysitting Mun | Rockstar!Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: Eddie Munson is the rockstar you have to work for, but most of the time, you feel like you are babysitting a teenager. He's messy, wild, and disobedient, and he never calls you by your name. He's sweet, though, but you are not allowed to think about that. Or in his smart mouth. Or in his hands playing that stupid guitar, shit.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Interview | Part 8 | Part 9| Part 10
Tumblr media
It had been a beautiful day. You were used to the city, the concrete, the fast food joints, and the fast-paced life. So, a BBQ at a lake house with people who lived a laid-back life was comforting. Especially because the idea of family had become a distant dream or an urban legend—something others had, but you didn’t. You’d spent the whole afternoon on the grass, soaking up the sun, reading a good book, and then making a few calls (whenever you could find decent reception) to ensure everything was ready for Eddie’s arrival in England, the first stop on the tour.
"Fey, I got you a burger. Not sure if you're into them, but... you haven’t eaten, and Wayne was getting worried," Dustin said as he approached with a cardboard plate holding a juicy burger.
You looked up from your notebook, setting it aside as you sat up on the blanket you had spread out on the grass.
"Oh, Dustin, thank you," you murmured, suddenly aware of your empty stomach. "That’s really sweet of you," you said, taking a quick bite of what instantly became the best burger in the world. "I lost track of time."
Dustin smiled at you, grinning from ear to ear, and then sat down beside you. You looked at him, a bit surprised, but welcomed his company with a smile.
"And Suzie? I thought I'd see her today."
Dustin brushed a curl from his forehead, and his face lit up instantly when you mentioned his girlfriend.
"She’s meeting up with her mom in Cincinnati to try on her dress for the first time. I don’t know much about it since, apparently, I’m not allowed to know anything."
You laughed, taking another bite of your burger as he offered you a can of Coke, which you accepted with a grateful nod.
"Make sure Suzie gets in touch with me. Eddie needs to send her the check for that."
Dustin shook his head.
"Nah, I already talked to Eddie about it. He wants to cover the guests’ hotel, the reception, food, even the band. He can’t be paying for Suzie’s dress, too. Plus, her parents want to help, so..."
You raised your eyebrows.
"Dustin, Dustin," you stopped his rambling with a smile, swallowing your bite before you spoke again. "How long have you known Munson?"
Dustin paused, his dreamy eyes gazing into the distance.
"He’s been my brother, my friend, and my mentor since I was 15."
You smiled, touched by the affection Dustin had for Eddie.
"You’ve known him for over a decade, and that’s enough to know he’s not going to let you refuse his wedding gift."
"I’m stubborn too, Fey," Dustin grinned, almost proud of his declaration. "Eddie says it’s more about the tone I use when I talk, but I like to think I’ve got some persuasion power, too."
You laughed, cracking open the Coke and taking a sip.
"I bet Suzie's not thrilled about accepting more gifts from Eddie, huh?" you asked.
Dustin's cheeks turned pink, and he smiled nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
"You’re pretty perceptive," Dustin admitted with a nervous grin. "Look, it’s already a huge deal for her parents to accept me, and having someone else pay for everything is offensive to her dad. It makes him feel... useless," he confessed.
You opened your notebook and grabbed your pencil.
"And does Suzie’s dad have a contact number?" you asked.
Dustin chuckled dryly.
"You’re not gonna convince him, trust me."
You smiled back at him, peering over your sunglasses.
"Listen, I work with a temperamental, playful rock star whose idea of fun is filling his pool with punch and buying giant straws for a suction contest that left two bandmates with respiratory issues and forced us to cancel a show at one of L.A.’s biggest arenas," you summarized. "You have no idea what I’ve managed to get Eddie to do—or not do—with conviction and persuasion."
He raised his eyebrows.
"You’re gonna talk to Suzie’s dad?" he asked, incredulous.
You shrugged.
"Corroded Coffin leaves early the day after tomorrow. I’ll invite Suzie and her mom somewhere nice in Cincinnati, convince them, and let them do the work on your future father-in-law."
He shot you a suspicious look.
"I’ll give you Suzie’s contact, but I’m not part of this. I want to marry her, and I’m not doing anything that could jeopardize that."
You laughed and took another bite of your burger.
"Everything’s gonna be fine. Besides, it’s my job, right?"
He frowned.
"Vickie, Nancy, and Robin put on an '80s karaoke DVD, and they’re belting it out in the living room. Gareth opened a bottle of wine," Jane—known as El to everyone—plopped down next to you on the grass, looking at both of you curiously. "What are we talking about?" she asked just as Mike, Max, and Lucas next to you and Dustin, forming a circle.
"Fey wants to convince Suzie’s dad to let Eddie pay for the wedding," Dustin explained.
The others groaned, but Max and El nodded confidently.
"Fey can do it. She got Eddie to sleep at Wayne’s house, didn’t she?" Max pointed out.
El agreed. "And she got him back to Hawkins," she added, making the others nod.
"You guys act like Eddie’s the most stubborn person on earth. You’ve got him wrapped around your fingers. I’m sure if you asked, he’d cross the world to get you something," you laughed, leaning back on the grass.
They collectively rolled their eyes, making you laugh even harder.
"As if you don’t," Lucas chuckled.
You frowned, sipping your Coke before continuing the conversation.
"What do you mean?"
Of course, you had to ask.
"I know you’ve got that persuasion power you’re so proud of," Max said, "but you’re totally clueless if you think that’s the only reason you can convince Eddie not to do the crazy stuff he’d normally do."
You frowned.
"Oh," El nudged Max sharply, but not hard enough to hurt. "She doesn’t know."
Mike snickered while stuffing his face with more microwave popcorn.
"She’s totally clueless," he muttered through a mouthful of popcorn.
"Eddie..." Dustin stole some popcorn from Mike before continuing, "...Eddie’s got a bit of a soft spot for you."
"Tiny," El nodded.
"Kind of big," Max tilted her head from side to side.
"Yeah, what Max said," Lucas and Mike agreed.
You scoffed, letting out a disbelieving laugh before taking another sip of your Coke.
"You guys are delusional," you took another sip. "First off, Eddie Munson DOES NOT have a soft spot for me, and second, why aren’t you singing karaoke with the rest?"
"She’s changing the subject," Mike said, bumping into Lucas, who laughed. His long braided hair shook as he did.
"Stop laughing. You kids are crazy," you commented, amused.
"kids? You’re like, three years older than us," Mike pulled out a cigarette. He tried lighting it, but every time he got a flame, it would fizzle out. The conversation paused as everyone watched Mike struggle with the cigarette. On his fourth attempt, he seemed to snap out of it and looked directly at El, who had covered her face with her long brown hair, avoiding eye contact and wiping a small drop of blood from her nose.
"El!" he called out, annoyed.
"Oh my God, sweetie, are you okay?" you asked, concerned, handing her a napkin, which she took gratefully.
"She’s fine," Mike brushed it off as the guys snickered. "Just because she’s my girlfriend, she thinks she can make me quit smoking. And just because Fey has inmunity with Eddie doesn’t mean you have the same with me."
You started shaking your head.
"Eddie and I aren’t actually…" nobody listened to you anyways. El and Mike were having a talk.
"Yes, I have it," El spoke up as she finished wiping her nose and pulled her hair away from her face, smiling big and bright.
Mike looked at his cigarette, sighed in defeat, and put it away, nodding.
"Yeahyouhaveit" he agreed "Okay, fine, you win," he conceded, standing up to offer his hand to El, inviting her for a walk.
Lucas watched the couple head toward the lake and groaned.
"Damn, they stole my idea!"
Max playfully punched him on the shoulder. "Of course they did, Casanova. But I’ve got a better one; I think there’s a cozy rock nearby we can hang out on."
Dustin made a horrified face, but the others ignored him, said their goodbyes, and ran off.
You smiled and looked at Dustin, who was studying you carefully, like he was analyzing something.
“What?”
“He calls you Fey,” he said, rolling his eyes. “And you don’t like it when we call you Fey.”
OH MY GOD not this.
“I know. I still don’t get what’s up with that,” you huffed.
“Feywild. You know he plays Dungeons & Dragons, right?”
You nodded, finishing the last of your drink.
“Yeah, I’m the one who sends the monthly deposit to fund that school club of his… Lucifer’s Flame?”
“Hawkins High's Hellfire Club,” he corrected, sounding mildly offended.
You laughed.
“God, I know. I write that check every month. You D&D fans are so sensitive.”
“That game brought us together, shaped us in a world full of narrow-minded people.”
You smiled, giving his arm a quick squeeze.
“I know,” you murmured, then sighed, realizing you couldn’t avoid the conversation any longer. “Why does he call me Fey?”
“It’s not a random nickname. It’s got to do with D&D characters.”
You frowned. “Oh God, please tell me it’s not some monstrous thing with horns in places it shouldn’t have them.”
He frowned too. “Where exactly should horns be, Fey?”
You raised your eyebrows innocently. “I don’t know, between the eyes? One on each side of the head?”
Dustin stared at you. “Okay. God, that’s why you and Steve get along so well,” he clapped his hands together, getting back on track. “Dungeons & Dragons, Fey.”
You laughed.
“Yeah, well; he never calls me by my real name, never, not once.”
“There’s a reason for that, and believe me, you won’t hate it once you hear it.”
You sighed heavily, shaking your empty can even though you knew it was already finished.
“Feywild is a chaotic realm of fairies and magic. It’s totally unpredictable, sure, but captivating,” he shrugged. “The fairies in the game aren’t just about pulling tricks; they’re usually the ones who help the hero grow, you know, on a quest. I think you’re kind of like that for Eddie. You keep him grounded, even if you don’t realize it.”
You widened your eyes, incredulous. “Really? I should probably be a troll or something bigger; it’s tough keeping him grounded,” you laughed, trying to keep it light. If you took this seriously, you’d overthink it. “So I’m a fairy… basically the mythical equivalent of an assistant, Dustin,” you clarified.
“I get that; yeah, he pays you to be in his business,” he agreed. “But it’s more than that; he involves you. Hell, it’s like he doesn’t let just anyone in, and this goes beyond being a rock star. The last time he let someone in and showed them who he really was, it ended in tragedy.”
Chrissy. The cheerleader. The queen of high school. The beautiful blonde with her whole life ahead of her that Eddie let in—and it ended in a deal with death.
You looked down, feeling uncomfortable, especially with the sadness that washed over you when you remembered Eddie’s almost defeated, guilt-ridden face the night before.
“That really messed him up… didn’t it?” you asked softly, feeling guilty for talking about it without Eddie being there.
“Big time. See why this is important? With you, it’s different, Fey. Maybe you don’t realize it because you’re a bit clueless, like the girls said—though I think you just want to be,” he concluded but didn’t give you time to defend yourself as he continued, “but you have a place in his life that no one else does. And that nickname… it’s like he’s bringing you into his world, making you part of it.”
His words hit hard. They echoed in your ears, drowning out everything else as a sharp ringing sound filled your head and your thoughts swirled in a wave of intrusive emotions. You looked away from Dustin, not wanting him to see the battle raging inside you.
“Dustin, he and I… he’s my boss, you know that? I’m here to assist him, and when he doesn’t need me anymore…”
He shook his head immediately, almost upset by your comment. You knew it was a low blow, that you couldn’t limit your relationship with Eddie to just professional terms anymore. The line had been crossed, and it wasn’t because of the kiss, no. You had crossed it long before, that night at the record label party when your heart broke at what you thought was a betrayal from Eddie. He wasn’t just your boss, and you weren’t just his employee.
Realizing that didn’t make things any easier.
“You know that’s not true. I get how it sounds, you are close and that’s okay. Eddie’s not into formalities anyway,” he clarified.
You opened your mouth, realizing when the air entered your lungs that you had been holding your breath while he spoke.
You started shaking your head, a bit scared. The idea of someone caring about you, of someone wanting you in their life, was a huge responsibility, and you weren’t sure if you were ready to handle it yet. You hadn’t felt that way since your grandparents. They were the last people, after your parents, whose lives had impacted yours and whom you had impacted.
“Guys!” Mike and El called from the lake house porch. Mike had his arm around El’s shoulders, and she was leaning on him with a huge smile. “You’ve got to see this! Big Rock is about to sing Rick Astley!”
Dustin laughed and started to get up, offering you his hand.
“Come on, Fey, I didn’t mean to stress you out. How about you forget this conversation for the next few hours and have some fun with us?”
You smiled at him.
“Thanks, Dustin.” You took his hand for a moment until you were on your feet, still holding your notebook and book. You tried, as Dustin suggested, to leave the anxiety from that conversation behind.
Tumblr media
The lake at night was stunning. You could appreciate it up close on the small dock of Steve’s house. He had told you he bought it after receiving a generous government settlement. You admired all of them a bit more for that; with the money they had, they could easily live peacefully without doing anything, just letting their traumas take over, but they didn’t. They were all valuable and talented, making their way through life’s jungle with grace and bravery.
You spotted car headlights here and there around the lake; you’d been told it was famous among lovers, so you watched the moon's reflection on the water and enjoyed the sound of crickets and frogs croaking in solitude.
“There you are,” Eddie’s voice startled you. He was a little bit tipsy —not too much—but you could see the childish look in his eyes, that lazy gleam like a haze over his irises. He handed you an open beer. “I told Dustin that giving you a Coke earlier to talk was an amateur move. You do like beer, right?”
You looked at the glass bottle and smiled, a bit puzzled as you took it. “What are you doing here? I thought you and the guys were putting on a little concert for the group,” you asked before taking a sip of the dark, cold beer.
“Yeah, until Cynthia called Gareth, and they’ve been on the phone for half an hour now. It’s gonna cost him a fortune.”
You raised your eyebrows in surprise and smiled, excited. “Cynthia called Gareth?” you asked, letting out an impressed giggle as you took another sip.
“I’m not gonna gossip about a friend’s possible romantic situation,” he replied with a sarcastic tone.
You laughed, took a sip, and kept looking at him. “Why are you out here alone, Fey?”
You glanced around and shrugged. “Look at this, Mun… we don’t have this in L.A.,” you murmured, then sat down on the dock’s wooden planks, getting much closer to the water. “Why don’t you buy a house here?” you asked when he sat next to you with his own beer. You steadied him by the shoulder when you saw him sway slightly, but he just chuckled in response.
“You want me to buy a house here, Fey? We’ve got Steve’s!”
“It’d be easier to convince me to come help you if you had a lake house; it doesn’t have to be big, maybe a shack,” you joked. “But this is nice.”
Both of you fell silent for a moment, drinking your beers and enjoying the quiet.
“I used to make deals with the owner of this place,” he suddenly broke the silence, “drug deals.”
“Yeah…” you cut him off, closing your eyes and praying for patience. “I got what you meant.” You looked at him. “Does it bring back good memories?”
“Not at all,” he shook his head. “That’s actually the point and the reason Steve bought it.”
You frowned. “You know, I didn’t think you were that drunk. You’re not making sense.”
He let out a chuckle. “I hid out here when everyone thought I was killing people. Dustin, Steve, Max, and Robin worked hard to find me and prove my innocence,” he downed the rest of his beer and set the bottle beside him, right between you and him, smiling. “Years later, Steve bought it and decided to turn this place into something good, thinking that if we made enough good memories, eventually the bad ones would fade.” He laughed, almost embarrassed. “Yeah, it’s cheesy, I know.”
“No, well, yeah, it is cheesy,” you laughed, “but it’s sweet. It’s sweet that you have that kind of friends,” you murmured.
“Well, they’re kind of your friends now, too, so…”
“Oh no,” you immediately shook your head. “We’re not doing this.”
He laughed, “Doing what?”
“This,” you whined. “You can’t keep telling me stories that make you more human.”
He let out a huff, almost offended. “What are you talking about, Fey?”
“At some point, you just started opening your heart like crazy, and suddenly, you’re not the grumpy rockstar I had to get out of trouble. You’re human.”
“I’ve always been human,” he let out a dry laugh.
“No, you were a vampire right before you started telling me your life story,” you defended yourself. “This is just another level of getting involved.”
You thought he might get upset, maybe even seem annoyed. The last thing you expected was for him to smile like a Cheshire cat.
“Fey, I told you at Steve’s party, I want to know about you. You literally know my underwear size.”
You raised your eyebrows at him and gave him a knowing look. “Well, you’ve literally had me buying your underwear in the middle of a tour because you thought giving the pair you were wearing to your fans was a fantastic idea.”
He chuckled. “It was fun, admit it,” he replied.
Then you heard a ringing noise. Loud and deafening. One that made your neck feel so heavy you thought your head might fall off. Suddenly, all of Hawkins' cold seemed to invade your body.
“Do you remember what you said at Steve’s party?” you asked, trying not to stutter or sound too affected, though judging by Eddie’s expression, it probably showed on your face. “I thought you were drunk as a skunk.”
He cleared his throat and stopped looking at you for a few seconds.
Bad sign.
No-oh.
Look at me again, you thought with a queasy feeling in your stomach. If you’re not looking at me, it’s because you’re hiding something.
Like that time, in your first week on the job, when he tried to sneak a llama into his hotel room where no animals were allowed.
“I know why I started drinking like an idiot that night, Fey.”
That eased your mind a bit. Maybe he really didn’t remember the rest; the whole fairy thing and how he seemed to crumble at the thought of you leaving. You didn’t want to have to break down that conversation with him.
“Why did you start drinking?” you sighed, playing dumb. It’d be good to hear his reasons while he was sober. You glanced at the empty bottle beside him—well, somewhat sober.
But was Eddie Munson ever fully sober?
“I didn’t get it, Fey. I know sometimes I act difficult"
“No, no, no,” you interrupted. “You are difficult.”
“What’s difficult is having this conversation with you, Feywild.” he replied between his teeth.
Uh-oh, full name. You were in trouble.
You nodded in agreement and pretended to zip your lips.
“I know I complicate your life sometimes, and I’ve asked you many times just to be my assistant and stick to that, but deep down, I know that’s not how it is. I know you’re my friend, even if you’re not proud of it—the only girl in the world who feels that way, by the way,” he added the last part with that charismatic smile: the one he throws at his fans and the girls he takes home after a party or a good show. “And you know what sucks? It sucks when your friend knows more about you, and you realize your life is in the hands of a stranger. I didn’t know anything about you. I didn’t know about your parents, your unused degree, or that Robert was dumping his work on you without paying you while taking all the credit.”
“It’s the justice-seeker in you,” you pointed out, “and a bit of the control freak; you can’t stand not knowing everything.”
He rolled his eyes.
“You said your parents died. What about your grandparents?”
You exhaled, making a brief sound with your upper lip. I mean, you had kind of promised to open up, right? And he was asking nicely.
“My grandmother passed away when I turned 18, just after I graduated from school; lung cancer. And my grandfather was diagnosed with heart problems over time and started to weaken. I think he also wanted to go. Anyway, he passed away after I graduated from university, in his hospital bed,” you recounted briefly.
But Eddie was perceptive; he gave you a sharp yet gentle look.
“Your debts…” he guessed.
You nodded, watching your feet swing in the air and the dark reflection of yourself in the water.
“I needed a good salary, and this job was literally a lifeline,” you admitted.
“Why music?” he asked, frowning.
You shook your head with a smile. “No,” you said firmly, “you have to answer something first.”
“Damn it, Fey, you already know so much about me,” he complained.
You leaned back, supporting yourself on the wood with both palms, leaving the beer bottle next to Eddie’s empty one.
“I know you’re not allergic to anything at all, but you pretend that wheat makes you sick so that girls feel sorry for you and see you from a more exotic angle.”
He rolled his eyes. “I bloat with bread.”
This time you rolled your eyes and laughed. “Yeah, if you eat ten bagels at once, of course, you’ll bloat; it’s called bread bump, pretty normal”
He stuck his tongue out at you and smiled. “What the hell do you want to know?”
He pulled out a cigarette from his back pocket and lit it, placing the thin roll between his teeth.
“Why do you call me Fey?”
He looked at you, but his gaze seemed miles away, and you wondered if you could reach him sitting next to him.
“It’s actually about D&D.”
You laughed. “Yeah, like everything in your life.”
That didn’t seem to offend him.
“It was the first thing that came to mind when I met you,” he half-smiled, still deep inside himself, unable to look you in the eyes. “I didn’t want an assistant, and I wasn’t going to accept it, especially if Robert suggested it, who thinks he knows what I need.” He rolled his eyes. “I did everything to avoid meeting you that day. But you figured out where I’d be and showed up at our recording studio in your green dress with your notebook.” He laughed softly, letting out a sigh. “God, I treated you horribly. You just did your job efficiently, shaking your hair around, making friends with the band, and your eyes…" he paused "You read me, Fey; you anticipated my moves from the very first moment. Those eyes were knowing. As if you saw everything for the first time but at the same time knew every corner of my world perfectly.”
Eddie shifted on the now chilling wood, and his words began to flow freely. Even if he’d let you speak, you wouldn’t have been able to. You didn’t even remember wearing a dress that day, let alone the color.
“You know, fairies aren’t the protagonists in D&D campaigns, but they’re always there with a purpose; they help advance the plot, they’re like, small and powerful agents who get involved just enough.” Now he looked at you, his brown eyes piercing, tearing down and rebuilding your breath. “You’re like the whole damn world embodied; you’re the shield when I need protection, the fire when I’m freezing, if I get lost so much in this damn new wild life that I don’t know how to find my way back. The storm if what I need is to fight someone to finally come to my senses. You have this way of being everything at once; the voice of reason, the avenger, and chaos. Always, always, always, you know exactly what I need.” He smiled as if saying all this had relieved him. “You came into my life that day straight out of the stories I used to escape to when my mom was sick and the only lesson my dad had to give me was about his belt and how to steal cigarettes from a convenience store. Only you’re real, Fey; you’re here. Honestly, I’m grateful for that.”
You could have sworn a black hole appeared and sucked away all the cold of the place. His words wrapped around you, making you feel seen and appreciated in a way that was both terrifying and exhilarating.
Your heart raced, but you tried to ignore it, attempting to stay grounded in the role you assigned yourself; his assistant, his friend, nothing more. Still, he was talking about you as if you were a myth, (how did you deserve that honor?) a force of nature. It was too much, and at the same time, you felt under your burden that you could listen to him talk about you this way forever, and it still wouldn’t be enough. You wanted to hold onto his words, let them hang in the air, but also let the wind carry them away, bury them at the bottom of the lake with heavy anchors to keep yourself safe.
As Eddie spoke, your mind was racing. You were amazed—how could you not be? His voice, the way he looked at you, made you feel like something more than you had ever seen yourself as. But with that amazement came confusion, a deep and unsettling feeling of being lost in a place you hadn’t planned to enter.
You tried to find something to say, something to ground you, but words wouldn’t come. Instead, you just stayed there, caught between the magic of his words and the reality of what you meant to each other. It was a dizzying, disorienting feeling, like standing on the edge of something vast and unknown, unsure whether to step forward or retreat.
“That… Mun…” you murmured after swallowing the lump in your throat, not really knowing what to say. “Thank you… I, damn,” you murmured, trying to find the right words.
Then he hurried to speak. It was few words. A sentence said quickly as if saying it slowly and deliberately would be worse.
Eddie just opened his mouth and said,
“Fey, please don’t freak out. But I remember everything. I remember the kiss.”

⭒ The marriage was arranged, and the sex is deranged. Bucky is so obsessed with your pussy that he almost forgets he’s meant to be faking this whole thing—and hating it, like sworn enemies are supposed to do.

☼ You're Losing Me
⭒ Your fairytale ending is crumbling before your eyes. You don't know how to love someone who can't tell you're dying. You fear you're fading away, begging him to do someone, say something, choose something. You fear he won't be able to resuscitate you this time. This time, he's losing you.

☾ @pellucid-constellations
☼ For the Love of the Game
⭒ Bucky Barnes was a menace. NYU’s top baseball player, he was used to girls falling at his feet and could smooth talk his way out of just about anything. You hated him. He couldn’t figure out why. So when the novelty of weekend parties and quick hookups finally wore off—and his feelings for you began to grow—he made it his mission to fix it.
☾ @barnesafterglow

Hoping to find the marvels of the ocean, to find beauty and magic even; however he ends up finding a fiery soul – one he cannot get enough of. But then again, no love story is ever perfect, is it?
☼ Ruin
⭒ You work at a café owned by your family, close to your uni. And most of your days are pretty laid back and calm, but that is until you catch the eye of the mob boss. Your cute skirts and soft sweaters make him weak. Your innocence captivates him. And he wants you, badly. He wants you in his bed, wants his hand under those cute little skirts… he wants to ruin you.
☼ A Sweeter Place
⭒ Years after a messy break-up, and now seeking stability, infamous mob boss James Buchanan Barnes finds himself reunited with an old flame of his. Instant guilt and regret wash over him when he finds out that his reckless ways back then, changed an innocent girl’s life forever.
☼ You're No Saint
⭒ Steve and Bucky have been friends since they were young boys. They are inseparable, so naturally when you married Steve you were aware that Bucky came along with him. Every event, every vacation, even as the best man at your wedding - Bucky was always there, alongside you and Steve. He was one of your best friends as well, so you’ve never thought of him in a sexual way, ever. That is until one certain night, when you see something you’re not supposed to and you like it a little too much. You deny your desire towards Bucky, but Steve knows you better than anyone. He knows what you want and need, and he’s determined to fulfil your fantasy; because what his wife wants, she gets.

Nobody even knew your real name. Now it was up to him to search the whole wide world to find a nameless girl – one he was obsessively, mindlessly in love with.

☾ @renxzs
☼ Redemancy
⭒ Maybe it was a bit naive to think moving in with your best friend and long-time crush, Bucky Barnes, was going to be some smooth road that led to an admittance of mutual feelings for one another and a happily-ever-after ending, wrapped up nicely in a bow. Naive indeed; especially when you have to consider the fact that Bucky is the biggest womanizer you know.
☾ @cryptidcasanova
☼ My Devotion

☼ Loverboy
⭒ It's the Bridgerton carriage scene, but make it mob!Bucky.

⭒ Bucky always makes sure his best friend is okay, because that is what you need. He's caring, but very passive and nonchalant, because you need it. Not him. He doesn't need that. He doesn't need you. Does he?
☼ Variant
⭒ The chaos of the multiverse is quite literally holding up a mirror to Bucky. Turns out, it's very easy to get under someone's skin when you have a universal connection to them.

⭒ The Universe shows you your soulmate when it feels like you need them most. When you least expect it, you're given yours - Bucky Barnes. Your Dad's best friend. You can try to refuse it all you like; but the universe wants what it wants. There's no denying fate.
☾ @notafunkiller
☼ You Were Just Mine Yesterday
⭒ It's been a while since your break up with Bucky happened, but you're still not over him. You try to move on, go out, and have fun with your friend, Steve, but you end up in the same bar you two went to often. It also just happens that Bucky is there too, with Natasha by his side. It doesn't take long for you two to end up getting into old habits.

⭒ Loving Bucky Barnes was never easy but breaking your heart seemed to come naturally to him. A love story about your heartbreak, his betrayal and a chance at redemption.
☾ @rookthorne
☼ Purity
⭒ Softness was a trait you unwittingly carried - the wings of a dove taking you higher and higher, elevating you in the eyes of the devil. And that devil did not want to wait any longer. It was time to collect.
☼ His Girls
⭒ Cars were all the same to you — classics, imports, you name it, they were all the same. Well, they were, until you were nonetheless forced to visit your local mechanic and saw the man that would pique your interest in not only every single make and model of classic car, but his charming smile; the air of righteous arrogance that flowed from his tattoos, and that damned cheeky glint in his bright eyes.
☼ Hollywood Boulevard
⭒ All it took was one night, one song - hell, one note - and you were gone for him, hook, line, and sinker. Turbulent times lay ahead, but in the afterglow of ecstasy, forced to feel emotions in such intensity for someone you’d never expect, you couldn't help but follow him anyway - he was irresistible, after all.
☾ @boxofbonesfic
☼ You're Gonna Give Me Six
☾ @gogolucky13
☼ Mean It
⭒ You and Bucky get trapped overnight in the safe house after a mission. Everything should be okay, except he's your ex and thanks to his carelessness, the situation gets a little more complicated.
☾ @intrepidacious
☼ Almost Believing
⭒ You and Bucky aren't exactly on speaking terms at the moment. That doesn't mean you're getting out of having to pretend to be married for a mission.
☾ @buckybarnesdiaries
☼ Please
⭒ Bucky needed to be spoiled.
☾ @buckys-darling
☼ Face The Sun
⭒ To ensure the prosperity of their two kingdoms, a determined Princess and reluctant King are to be wed. She is willing to commit, but he can’t seem to let his lover go.
☼ Will You Love Me Tomorrow?

☼ Electric
⭒ Flirtation has a different meaning with Bucky, and his patience doesn't last long when it comes to you.
☾ @straywords

☾ @little-miss-dilf-lover
☼ Fifteen Minutes
☾ @bucksfucks
☼ The Feeling's Mutual
⭒ the amount of times you and bucky have seen each other masturbating is alarmingly high. might as well do it together.
☾ @ellemj
☼ Bigger Than He Was
⭒ Bucky pretends to be your new man when you run into your ex in public. However, the little act of pretending sparks something inside of him that he didn't know was there.
☼ Strawberries
⭒ Bucky, the man with a long list of girls on his roster, gets exposed to a sex pollen in the field. Will he fuck the first girl he calls or the girl he's wanted for the last two months?
☼ Breathe
⭒ Bucky hates the way you take unnecessary risks in the field, the way you're so mesmerizing and yet so hard to work with, and he especially hates the way you get on your knees for him during a dangerous mission. Finding out how pretty you look on your knees is the last thing he needs.
☼ Flustered, part 2
⭒ Bucky seems to thoroughly appreciate all women...except for you. When he finds out one of your weaknesses, he can't help but use it against you, which only makes you hate him more.
☼ Inevitable
⭒ While on a mission with Sam, John Walker, and Bucky, you're the only person exposed to a sex pollen. Bucky sure as hell isn't going to let anyone else take care of you.
☾ @viixenvi
☼ Red
⭒ You work at a strip club and Bucky is a regular. Tonight he specifically asks for you in a private room. You never thought he'd love the color red on you so much.
☾ @ro-is-struggling
☼ Self Care
⭒ Bucky always seemed interested in your skin care routine, so when one day he arrives tired and drained from a mission, you take the opportunity to show him the importance and benefits of self-care.
☾ @kinanabinks
☼ Silent Girl
⭒ After a traumatizing event, you aren’t the friendliest or most talkative of people. Bucky understands, and in turn becomes the one person you soften your hard exterior for.
☾ @angrythingstarlight
☼ Roommate Bucky
☾ @wkemeup
☼ Cold, Cold Water
⭒ While on a stakeout in the heart of Russia, Bucky learns that touch can bring something more than pain and he will willingly give himself over to the ice if it means keeping you alive.
☼ Drunk On You
⭒ Bucky has always been nervous around you. When he’s tasked with caring for you after a night of heavy drinking and suddenly you’re kissing him, Bucky doesn’t know what to do. You couldn’t possibly want him sober, right?
☼ Honey and Chamomile
⭒ Four cups of tea, four distinct moments in time, and each pulls you in closer beyond the walls surrounding Bucky’s heart.
☼ Suburbia
⭒ Posing as husband and wife, you and Bucky infiltrate a quaint suburban neighborhood in search of a Hydra hacker. Perhaps if you weren’t so in love with him and he hadn’t broken your heart, the act of pretending wouldn’t hurt so much.
☼ Eclipse
⭒ When a mission leaves you empty and broken, Bucky is determined to heal the wounds that linger deeper than the cuts on the surface.
☼ Back to Bourbon Street
⭒ When you’re badly injured on a mission, Bucky works desperately to keep you alive. Only, it might not be enough.
☾ @espinosaurusrexex
☼ Bad Boys Don't Buy Flowers
⭒ Bucky would have never thought, he’d be chasing after a girl. Not when all of them usually fell at his feet. But when he finds himself entangled in a deal born out of a desperate argument with his assistant, he realizes there is nothing he wouldn't do for you: The independent florist who is adamantly dragging him to the homeless shelter every chance she gets. There is just one problem: Bucky doesn't know how to tell you. And the teasing from his friends is certainly not making things easier for him...
☾ @navybrat817
☼ Reconnect
⭒ Bucky Barnes is your best friend. You're also in love with him. After his recent breakup, the two of you get a chance to reconnect during a weeklong vacation together. Is it long enough to get your happy ending?
☾ @dyspneagrime (wattpad & ao3)
☼ No Privacy
⭒ You're stuck on a mission that never seems to end, in a completely destroyed studio apartment, with absolutely no privacy. And no privacy means- you haven't cum the whole time. Thing is, neither has the ancient, half-cyborg, psychopathic, hobo-lookin' asshole that you've been partnered up with.
☼ Little Wing
⭒ The year is 1973. All Dove Rogers wanted was a relaxing summer. Just one last hoorah before being thrust into the adult life. Yet everything shifts when her new houseguest and long standing enemy- Bucky Barnes, arrives. In the thick of sun-kissed relaxation, the two of them are forced to face the awakening and burning desire growing between them.
☼ Possessed
⭒ Margaret Everlee is a meek little thing. Living her life as a struggling artist in New York, trying to find her place in the world. That is until the formidable CEO with a dark past, James Barnes sets his sights on her. His infatuation is instantaneous, becoming a man obsessed with making her his own little doll.
☾ @stardustdreams-andcaffeine
☼ The Thin Line
⭒ Of one thing you were certain—Bucky Barnes hated you, and you hated him. How could you not, considering the super soldier had made it his personal mission to make your life a living hell after you had been assigned to protect him? But there was someone after Bucky from his past, and now he was forced to work alongside you to stop them. And in the process, you would find out just how thin that line was between love and hate.
☾ @buckybabesonly

⭒ You are afraid to believe that someone like Bucky might actually love you back.
☾ @lovelybucky1
☼ Flirting and Football
☾ @kurogxrix
☼ Drunkenly In Love
⭒ you and Bucky ‘accidentally’ get married after a drunken game of truth or dare with the avengers.
☾ @stxrvel

⭒ you hated Bucky and you were convinced that he hated you back. until one time he was talking to you and it started to sound... lovely? what was happening?
☾ @kikixreverie
☼ Its Called: Freefall
⭒ Things get heated between you and your closest friend Bucky, when you're made to play a married couple on an important mission. Neither of you can help yourselves when you end up stuck in a hotel room together, with sexual tension you could cut with a knife.
