I need some help from the public. I'm a lowly third-year undergrad with plans of going all the way to a PhD. At the seminar last week, one of the PhD candidates invited me to a postgrad club he founded that goes to this very cool medieval-looking bar. I took a look at who is going, and it looks like I'm going to be the youngest person there by a long shot. Now, I have no idea what to wear. I don't want to be too fancy when it's casual or too casual when it's fancy. If anyone has any outfit ideas, that would be super duper amazing. Also, I'm gonna try out this new format for my posts. Saw someone do it, and it looks very cool and organised.

What I'm up to:

Watching 'Alone' on Netflix while editing notes.

Catching up on Medieval Philosophy and Philosophy of Science lectures.

Starting my Medieval Philosophy essay.

Getting my knee chewed on by my demonic cat.

Unlocking the bus station on Stardew Valley.

Make banana chocolate chip muffins.

Apply to full-time jobs for the Summer.

I finally finished my multimedia project! Did the finishing touches last night and submitted it an hour ago! I hope I do well. I worked super hard on it. Now that that is done, I have a seminar in 20 minutes for one of the people I met at the P4C workshop during the mid-semester break. I wasn't initially going to go, but another person I met at the workshop tracked my job down and convinced me to come with her while I was working. I have no idea what the seminar is about, considering that he's a PhD student and I'm just a third-year undergrad. It's still fun to learn new things, though!

The mid-semester break is unfortunately over, so I'm back on campus this rainy, windy, grey, gross day. It's okay, though, because lately, things have been spectacular. During the first week of the holidays, I had the Philosophy for Children workshop and made great friends like Jan! She's a 76-year-old hippie doing a post-grad in Philosophy and makes me laugh so hard. She's so cool. In the workshop, there was also Tristen, a PhD student who had just come back from living with a remote Aboriginal community in Australia, where he had an "epiphany". Jan and I are going to his Seminar on Friday, where he will be unveiling this grand epiphany. I'm pretty curious, honestly. Oh! Also, quite literally yesterday, my dad told me he met my academic crush, Erin Mercer, and she gave him a signed copy of her new book for me!! I'm going to devour it whole. On sad news, I am officially broke-broke cause the stupid "check engine" light came on. I've decided that once I graduate in 6 months-ish, I'm going to take a gap year to work full-time and save some money to get new tires and whatnot. I'm also going to harass the Gothic Association of New Zealand and Australia for an internship. I am going to live in their walls.

After little sleep I awoke to the sound of rain tapping against the open skylights. What a beautiful way to wake up. The dark skies and cool air rejuvenated me and I am ready to finally finish the essay I've been working on for ages now.

After a cheeky little detour to the wool shop, I started knitting my scarf last night. Very pleased with the blues and orange. Not so sure about the pink and the beige yet. Alas, I will figure it out. Other than that I am content with the results of the student journal meeting last night and my sticking to a yoga routine again.

Monday, the 21st of August 2023

A weekend can go by so fast - one of my closest friends came to Prague. We spent our time exploring the museums, walking through the historic city and being lost in discussions. Inspiring, thought-provoking. My heart is full when I think of how my friendships have grown and become closer in the past few months. I myself seem to have changed quite a bit as one of my friends pointed out a couple of days ago, beaming with joy as I seem to have grown more self-assured, resolute and content.

Mid-semester holidays are sooo close. I've got so much to do, though. During the two-week holiday, I've got a two-day workshop learning how to teach Philosophy to Children and my creative writing poetry and multimedia portfolio is due. I've got it all sorted. Just a bit nervous about the fast pacing.
