#this is true. but man. sometimes it DOES make perfect sense for the character#it's just that people are so married to the FANON version of that character that their canon-informed actions feel like a betrayal#and people get mad at the writers for not writing the fanon version of the character they made up in their heads#I've seen this A LOT#it's frustrating as hell

All his exes, well the exes that show up still want to make out with the dude even when they want to kill him.
Isabel when she showed up still flirt with him like crazy in RHATO reborn, Essence flirted with him and made out with him, Rose who was an ex still flirts and is very much an on and off thing and cares for him. It doesn't help that Jason could be placed in a suspense romance style book as the main male protagonist and he wouldn't feel off.
#people who don't like jason are the only ones who think that he doesn't have rizz#because he's pretty abrasive and anti-social to anyone he doesn't vibe with#but if he's into you? that man is tractor beam laser focused#all that intelligence and charm and humor that he hides behind the surly glare comes out in full force#and so does his sweet and romantic side and he has a HUGE one like surprisingly deep and tender and entirely irresistible#it's a whammy of epic proportions#(also he eats box like a champ so of course his exes are still kicking their feet and twirling their hair)

Oh my goodness! This was such a fun, fluffy read that includes great body and sex positivity! Seriously, more authors need to include plus-size women.
Beatrix/Trixie is such a great character. I loved the idea of the hot football player/best friend falling in love with the girl whose body is not what everyone approves of. I loved watching her be comfortable in her own skin, even if she spent years finding that peace, and then facing down high school bullies before watching their own lives unravel. Ugh. So fun!
Chris is such a horndog for Trixie, but he’s a respectful horndog. You’re gonna love him. Trust me. And don’t even get me started on Chris’s family! They were all such great additions, and I can’t wait to for the next Kingman to fall in love.
