Tumblr is unique bc like. It's collaborative shitposting and you can't opt in or out. You can just say something about your day then an evil wizard shows up to turn your post into something humorous
Every other site is just one and done, but here a post is a welcome mat to be funnier than you

really i think the key difference between david tennant and peter capaldi as fans of the show they were in is that david tennant's childhood obsession shows through when he comes face to face with elisabeth sladen in school reunion with all the joy of someone who was in love with the show as a kid in the 70s. you know, like a normal person. (by doctor who standards.) whereas peter capaldi's childhood obsession shows through when he comes face to face with creepy mummy-like cybermen based off a partly-lost william hartnell serial which is deeply deeply disturbing on a psychological level with all the glee of someone who was disturbed on a psychological level by the show as a kid in the 60s

School librarian here, just stopping in to share a story... Someone recently donated a scattered handful of your Young Wizards books to our library. I devoured them as a child and was excited to share them with my students, so I dug up copies of the ones we were missing, up through book 8. I got them out onto the shelf last week. On Friday, one of my middle schoolers came in asking for recs. I suggested the first book. He wasn't sure about it, but he trusted me enough to at least try it. He said it looked weird, though, and grabbed another random book just in case.
Monday morning, he was the first student in at my desk, and he checked out the next two in the series! He's hooked!
It gets no better than that. :)
...I have to wonder about the cover on the one that "looked weird", though. Certainly there are some of the SYWTBAW covers that've struck me as a little weird, over time. In particular, I was never quite sure what was going on in the art director's mind with the ones Harcourt commissioned from David Bowers...
Meanwhile, I've got plenty of copies of book 9, so if you want to DM me, I'll send one your way. :)

The 20 year old accidentally bonsai'd apricot tree that I finally planted in the ground has truly established himself and has chosen a branch with which he will form his main trunk. He's putting all his energy into this one branch and it's making dozens of tiny offshoot branches and it is rapidly growing taller

Okay weird request time
I figure Tumblr is a good place for weird requests since SOMEONE out there must have a special interest in this
I am looking for kid-friendly weather phenomenon videos
My sister's kid is in LOVE with weather at the moment (BIG weather)- tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes, tsunamis, that kind of thing. If you happen to know of videos that are kid friendly (he's 4 so), could you drop me a link here or in ask/DM? I would also take any toy recs that might include this kind of thing (he's got the little bottle connectors that you can make tornado tubes with).
Thank you!

Friendly reminder to all who consume fan made media: if you reblog gifs, gif makers will keep making them. If you reblog fanart, artists will keep drawing. If you leave comments on fanfics, writers will keep writing. As many have pointed out, we’re not Instagram and likes mean nothing :)
