Hey not to ruin anyone’s day but how long do you think Charlie stood by the edge of Todd’s bed, looking down at his peaceful sleeping form and steeling himself for the message he couldn’t delay forever? How long do you think he stood trying to give Todd just a little more time existing in a world that Neil was still in?

todd has regressed after neil's death; he's so quiet a pin dropping is louder than him. the teachers think he's defiant and putting up some sort of act. the students look at him funny in the cafeteria where he sits there, not eating, not talking, just staring straight ahead at nothing. but the dead poets know why. they know what happened. and they know that todd is hurting. but they know they can't fix it. no one will be able to fix it.

Let's talk about Cameron (again) and Charlie.

I know some people hate Cameron, but if you hate Cameron and love Charlie, you just don't understand Cameron's complexity and ignore him just beacause of his dumb attitude.

But, if you hate Cameron beacause of what he did, then why don't you hate Charlie too because of his stupids actions?

I love Charlie's character, but I also like a lot Cameron's character. Charlie and Cameron, they both wanted validation from authority, but in different ways.

When Charlie got the "call from God", he wants to prove that he could do more, be more. When Mr. Keating went to reprimand his attitude, Charlie's reaction was to get upset and say that he thought Mr. Keating would like that.

Cameron on the other hand, wanted validation too, and saw opportunity in the worst possible scenario. Cameron didn't feel like he was part of the group, Charlie made a point of putting him down whenever possible. I dont want hate on Charlie, but just as Charlie doesn't deserve hate for doing stupid things, Cameron doesn't deserve it either.

and actually there are deleted scenes and lines from the book hinting that Nolan singled Cameron out for being a "good kid" and made him feel like he had to be responsible for his friends and Nolan singling Cameron out and making him feel separated/different from the other poets combined with how the other poets mostly never extended a hand towards Cameron making him feel excluded and like he didn't belong created the perfect recipe for the betrayal at the end. AND FURTHERMORE, NOLAN TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CAMERON'S NEED FOR APPROVAL FROM AUTHORITY FIGURES IS TEXTBOOK MANIPULATION AND GROOMING (dramatic court room music starts playing as I open my file of evidence)

I don’t know why but I feel like Todd is the type of person to have AWFUL circulation, like his hands and feet are always freezing and it’s slightly alarming

love to be like 'neil was down bad so fast for todd' but literally all the poets were; like a week in of todd stuttering and avoiding them and they were like yes, our new best friend (whether he likes it or not)
