My heart hurts

So I think I've just been broken up with for the first time ever. Not sure you can call it a break up but ugh why do I have to care so much it's ruining everything. Why can't I just have fun and enjoy something with out getting attached. Why do I have to like him and why does he have to be so nice about it. He is literally the sweetest and I'm sick of everything everyone has said about him. Why couldn't he be a jerk, I can deal with that I can deal with hating someone, but how do I move on when all he's ever been is kind and caring
