Charlie likes physical contact because it helps her focus

"No I understand." Charlie said taking the other's hand with a small smile. "It makes sense with how hard it is to read your mind especially when you're using your powers. Cerebro is meant for touching minds after all." She shrugged hoping that would make sense. While it wasn't alive it was still a machine and different things would affect that. 

"Professor," said Kitty throwing her arms around the slightly taller woman. "Danger Room is on the fritz again.. You really need to let me take a look at the wiring and fix it. I'm good for more than just walking through walls you know!"

"Kitty." Charlie said smiling at the other. "What did it do this time?" As much as it wasn’t fun when this happened it was always interesting to know what happened when it went wrong. "Fine but take someone else with you, don’t need you getting hurt."

"Fine but I don't think I'd be much help with the wiring." Charlie said smiling at the other.  "But I can help with Cerebro. Need the practice anyway. Can't let myself get out of the habit and stuff." To Charlie it was less invasive because in cerebro while her reach was extended and she didn't have to purposely invade someone's mind. She got that people didn't like it.

"That doesn't sound good." Charlie said pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. They probably needed to get completely new wiring but fixing it would have to do till she could order the supplies. "Yes but you could get hurt and if you're alone how are you going to get help?" She asked frowning slightly. Kitty might have not been a student but Charlie tried to look out forever at the school.
