“well i don’t think they’re gonna print that review on the menu,” matty said, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. everyone was caught up in how physically inferior earth was to fantasia and truth be told? he couldn’t care less ━━ all he could think about was his mother. but if he dwelled on it for too long, he knew he’d stop functioning. “maybe when the waitress comes back, you can tell him that he’s ugly. y’know, guarantee that they spit in your spanakopita,” he sarcastically advised. to his pleasant surprise, she found something nice to say about the restaurant. in fact, her comment sparked an interesting question: “drinking’s going to be a lot different now, huh?” 

❝ha ha, you are so funny, matty. sometimes i wonder if you were meant to be a comedian instead,❞ she replied with a shrug. hands still holding the menu, her eyes gazed through the platters as her stomach growled. she wasn't entirely embarrassed by the sound though because the more she looked through the food, the more she started to miss home. luckily, he continued to speak, which distracted her for a short amount of time. ❝hey, you know what? maybe i should, except maybe i should say that you told them that.❞ she stick her tongue out playfully for a moment before laughing. ❝and i'm not getting spanakopita. i want galaktoboureko. ---by the way, who's paying for dinner?❞ roxane smiled innocently as she put the menu down. ❝did i ever mention that your the best big brother ever?❞ upon mentioning drinks, she flipped back to the page. ❝unfortunately, yes, but i’m sure it’s something we can handle.❞

 “I would be worried if you did. Were you able to settle in okay?” 

unpacking her things, she let out a sigh before turning to elena for a second then turned back to unboxing her stuff. ❝yeah, of course. why wouldn't i settle in okay?❞ she asked, glancing over her shoulder. ❝i mean, the only terrible thing is mom and dad not being here, but other than that i'm fine. what about you?❞

“really? i think the apartment is the coolest part so far,” aria shrugged, continuing to unpack the box of dishes that had been left for them. she was unable to reach the cabinet shelves on her own, so she had resorted to climbing onto the quartz countertop. “i used to live in a literal tree house, so anything with bricks and concrete is pretty fascinating to me. where did you live?” 

she watched for a moment before leaning against a part of the counter and crossed her arms. if she needed help, she was willing to do that, but for now, she just watched over aria's back. ❝thankfully, i don't know what living in a tree house is like, but i guess it could make entertaining stories. and the apartment isn't as bad as i expected, but it could still be better,❞ she stated with a shrug. ❝as for i lived, my home is my mount olympus.❞
