Forever obssesed with trap discourse. It makes it so clear that the thing men care about is the opinion of other men. Whether fucking a trap makes you gay or not is ever subject to the opinion of "trap" involved. On forums they never discuss the interior world of "trap". The "trap" is an object. I so desperately want to be able to convince Trump supporters with facts and logic and empathy, but it’s so important to remember that their ignorance is INTENTIONAL. my mom didn’t let us watch Sleeping Beauty growing up. I asked her why recently and she said, “it was evil.” when I pointed out other movies had similar themes and depictions of evil, and asked what the difference was, she couldn’t. I pressed one more time and she just said, “it felt evil to me. I didn’t like it”. same thing with dune 2: she said it was “dark”, and I was, “literally, like the movie’s lighting? Or the themes?” and she said “I don’t know” and didn’t want to talk about it more. many conservatives genuinely cannot tell the difference between “I don’t like it” and “this is evil” and they do not care to learn despite many chances

no. people's openness about what two consenting adults can do in private has no bearing on how likely they are to be child abusers or close ranks about child abusers & thinking there is some correlation is a sign that your stance on sexual abuse is mediated more by disgust reaction and aesthetic associations than by structural analysis. there is a pretty hard and obvious line between not condemming consensual sex acts between adults and being a pedophile and thinking that it's some sort of spectrum or slippery slope there imo speaks poorly to your conceptualization of why SA is a bad thing.

people love to say that X or Y kink Normalizes Abuse, but, like, actually think about communities where sexual abuse is 'normalized' in society. is the problem with the catholic church that it's too pro-kink? is the problem with US professional gymnastics that it's too pro-kink? is the problem with the amish that they're too pro-kink? was the problem with the british entertainment industry in the 1970s that it was too pro-kink? is the problem with the prison system that it's too pro-kink? &c. &c. &c.

sexual abuse doesn't happen because people are degenerate perverts and everyone is too accepting of that, sexual abuse happens because society is full of institutions that give adults structural power over children and men structural power over women. giving credence to the former, even in the form of thinking you have to be "super careful" about perverts, is a straightforwardly reactionary position.

An Update on the Tumblr Android App

For those of you who access Tumblr through our Android app, we wanted to share that starting today you may see some differences for search queries and posts that may contain specific types of sensitive content. In order to comply with Google’s Play Store Guidelines, we have adjusted what you’re able to access as it relates to potentially sensitive content while using the Android app. 

To remain available within Google's Play Store, we have added more measures and limit exposure to potentially sensitive content in order to comply with their guidelines and to provide a safer experience to you. To learn more about Google’s Play Store Guidelines, click here. 

How you may experience these changes

When browsing Tumblr through Dashboard, Search, Communities and other surfaces you might experience less content and some searches might not produce any results unless you enable “show mature content” in Tumblr settings. Please refer to our Help Center article to learn more.

Why these changes are being made

We want to make sure Tumblr is available everywhere you would like to access it. In order for us to remain in Google’s Play Store and for our Tumblr Android app to be available, we needed to make changes that would help us be more compliant with Google’s policies around sensitive content. 

We understand that, for some of you, these changes may be very frustrating – we understand that frustration and we apologize for any disruption that these changes may cause. 

Who this impacts

These changes will only impact those who are accessing Tumblr through the Android app. If you are using our iOS app, accessing Tumblr through mobile web or online through tumblr.com, your experience will remain unchanged.

You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.

I am not exaggerating.

As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.

This is not a drill.

Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.

Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).
