Hi, I'm Kade. I'm obsessed with Bioshock, Detroit: Become Human, and recently got into roleplaying as some of these characters. I like to talk about video games, tv shows, mental health, and queer things.

Poor Athena
Apollo: Say, what were you guy's childhoods like? Artemis and I grew up on a small island with our mother.
Ares: Here on Olympus. It was cushy but boring. I'm glad to get out when I can.
Hephaestus: I grew up on the island of Lemnos. A blacksmith took me in and taught me the trade. It was hard work, but I'm a better man for it.
Hermes: I lived in a cave in a forest with my mother. It was peaceful. What about you, Athena?
Athena: *traumatic flashbacks of growing up in the depraved and terrifying depths of Zeus's mind*

Post "My Goodbye"
(Athena is going through her 12th box of tissues. Ares is patting her back.)
Ares: Got you some more books.
Athena (sadly looks at them): I used to read those with Odysseus.
Ares (slides them away): How about sparring? That always makes you feel better.
Athena (sinks into pillow): Odysseus was good at sparring.
Ares (to himself): So help me, Odysseus, if my uncle doesn't kill you, I will.
Athena: Ares?
Ares: Yeah?
Athena: There IS something that might make me feel better.
Ares: What?
Athena (meekly): Well, I read that petting puppies can help.
Ares:...
Athena: It can lower stress and elevate mood.
Ares:...
Athena (baby owl eyes)
Ares (sighing): (turns into a puppy)
Athena (smiling as she gets to pet the pup)
Ares: If you tell anyone about this, I will test your immortality.

You can find Aphrodite when you gush over romcoms. You can find Zeus when the rain pours and soaks your hair. You can find Hera when you're loyal to your friends and partners. You can find Ares when you argue with your parents over the causes you believe in. You can find Apollo when the sun caresses your cheek.
The gods are everywhere—you just need to know where to look.

I love the idea of every god that agreed to free Ody helping him out during 600 strike
Because, let's be honest, as cool as the song is, there is no way in hell a mere mortal could ever do that to Poseidon. I mean, he's on the same power level as Zeus ffs.
So, I like the headcanon that he received divine help. Just imagine:
Zeus finds the whole thing hilarious so he provides thunder and lightning to set the mood and complete the aesthetic. Seriously, his brother is getting tortured with his own trident by a puny human who's taunting him with his own philosophy. It doesn't get any more ironic than that.
Apollo and Hades unknowingly have the same idea; Apollo provides a sick beat while Hades releases those 600 souls from the Underworld so they can be the chorus.
Ares is taking over since Athena is busy recovering. After all, she did promise him bloodshed (plus he already hated his uncle prior to this event due to the whole Alcippe incident).
Hera isn't super keen on Poseidon either (since he too is a serial cheater on his wife) so she just watches in amusement. After Ody says "next to my wife" she just sends Zeus a glare.
Aphrodite sparks that flame of love he feels for his family and comrades in Ody's heart, giving him additional strength.
Hermes and Aeolus are watching from the side, eating popcorn and probably filming it so they can show Athena (and so they can later have blackmail to taunt Poseidon with).

Odysseus: Ares!
Ares (appears): Hey, what's...
Drunken singing: 99 bottles of brains on the wall! 99 bottles of braaaains!
Ares (looks towards the noise): Athena?
Athena (struggling to stand and offers a goofy grin)
Ares (to Odysseus): Explain this.
Odysseus: We were celebrating the first week back in Ithaca and she...might have gotten carried away.
Athena (almost falls on some servants)
Odysseus: She nearly stepped on Telemachus by accident, then cried.
Athena (tearfully): I'm sorry, little wolf!
Ares (sighing): I'll take her back home. Come on, Sis.
Athena (shaking her head): I wanna stay. Penelope’s going to show me her new quilt.
Ares: She can show you later.
Athena (pouting): I want to see it tonight.
Ares: I'll make sure you can see it tomorrow morning.
Athena: Promise?
Ares (nodding as he gives her a piggyback ride)
Athena (happily): You’re the best brother ever.
Ares:...in the whole world?
Athena: In the whole world!
Ares (turning to Odysseus): You're a witness to her saying that. Back me up tomorrow when I remind her.
Odysseus: It might be dangerous if I do.
Ares: It might be dangerous if you don't.

Ares, seeing 17 year old Penelope swoon over Odysseus: [sighs] I can't believe you're getting so worked up about some... guy.
Penelope: This one is different. He's smart, and he's kind...
Ares: Please!
Penelope: He would never do anything to hurt me.
Ares: He's a guy!
