“I see.” That was for the best. Having grown up in the 79th District West, she wouldn’t wish a place like that on anyone. The mid thirties, in comparison, couldn’t be more different. Quiet, for the most part, with families and businesses that even some Shinigami frequented – including herself. Though they didn’t patrol those districts as often, they still passed through on their way to the more troublesome towns. And she knew a great yakitori place there. But Quinn was right, they probably wouldn’t get anywhere without a name first.

“Oh! Sorry about that. It’s Etsu Ito, but just Etsu’s fine~” As long as her Captain wasn’t around, she didn’t care about a lack of formality. In fact, she usually preferred it. Glancing down to her knuckles, she wiggled her fingers a bit as more of the salve was dabbed across the back of her hand. 

“It feels…cool.” Almost like toothpaste. “Is it mint?”

Etsu.

Yes, that did sound fairly familiar now that she thought about it. It was the woman’s striking golden eyes in particular that made her recognizable. 

“What a lovely name!” The woman finally replied with a smile, though under the surface remained gentle frustration at still not being able to pinpoint when and where she’d met the other. The 4th was at least grateful for the fact that there was a mutual recognition between the two of them-- had there not been, this entire situation would have been painfully awkward.

“Y-yes it is! Aloe vera as well. To soothe the skin!” Once finished, the nurse capped the salve and set it aside. “I hope it’s helped ease some of the pain?” Hands lit up at that, emitting a soft blue glow as they hovered over the other’s hands.
