Dialogue tips that actually work:
You are not writing a movie (ignore this if you are). The reader doesn't need to know every word the characters say for the duration of the story. Less is more.
Dialogue can happen within the prose. "And they awkwardky discussed the weather for five minutes" is way better than actually writing five pages of dialogue about the weather.
Balance your dialogues. Surprise yourself with a monosyllabic answe to a dialogue that's ten sentences long. Don't be afraid of letting your character use half a page for a reply or nothing at all!
Don't write accents phonetically, use slang and colloquialisms if needed.
Comma before "said" and no caps after "!?" unless it's an action tag. Study dialogue punctuation.
Learn the difference between action tags and dialogue tags. Then, use them interchangeably (or none at all).
Don't be afraid to use said. Use said if characters are just saying things, use another word if not. Simple. There's no need to use fancy synonyms unless absolutely necessary.
Not everyone talks the same way so it makes sense for your characters to use certain words more often than others. Think of someone who says "like" to start every sentence or someone who talks really slow. Be creative.
Use prose to slow down the pace during a conversation.
Skip prose to speed up the pace during a conversation.

face tearing
I know im probably 30 years too late to silence of the lambs but fuck is it a good book, dr. Lecters' escape is fucking amazingly foreshadowed. When dr. Lecter thinks about police custody being a good thing because they use handcuffs and he has a key. While you're reading the escape you already know how this ends and you are kinda rooting for the face tearing massacreing murdering psychopath instead of the cops, so the whole scene before hand you are thinking "OH SHIT HANDCUFFS" and its just bliss.

:(
I just want to talk for a bit,
after coming out as bisexual and saying I wanted to dress more femininely she said "all is well as long as it stays at home" because going out with femme clothes could be dangerous, which makes sense I guess, people are shit and I dont want to end up in hospital. But then I get a purse and decide to use it, just in general because its useful, I can carry all my stationary, my calculator, my phone, and all my cards. Its just a big wallet with a strap on it, and now my mum is telling me I cant use it for the reason stated above, and yeah maybe shes right idk but it still feels shit, it is useful it makes me feel better about myself and now with but a word, its fucked.
I guess is all I mean to say is fuck people, all the ones who do shit things to minority groups, all the ones who turn a blind eye, all the people who fight but for the wrong reasons, and those who force us into hiding instead of taking a stance.
just needed to rant.

The only way
The only way to win is to consume; To be consumed by consumption; To see your goals and push away; To work for naught day by day. To put anger on the ones who fight; To hate their want for civil rights; To know they know no home. To have never known the road. But in the end. The sunk cost, it pulls you down. In the river of life you start to drown. The only way to win, is to lose.

The burden of thought
The burden of thought The clock strikes twelve. I lie, awake. The thought it hurts, to broad, to wide. The clock strikes five. I sit, awake. The thought obscured, thin, tall? The clock strikes three I walk awake. The thoughts, so loud, To big, To broad! And then I speak, as the clock strikes twelve. And I lie awake… This is the burden of thought
