transformation porn has a slapstick quality to it in its vigor because it relies on the characters behaving in ways that suggest either 1) a total disconnect from the gravity of the situation 2) this is something they've been wanting to happen their entire life and are capitalizing on the opportunity (frequently both) and, like any other comedy, having a Straight Man (figurative) character present makes the other characters' antics magnified
