21. Asexual Biromantic. Atheist. Love gaming but I'm a bit rubbish. Mental health can be a bit crap. Basically a place for anything I connect with and respond to!

I was 19, closer to 20, when I found out what Asexuality was, and it took another 3 months to meet anyone else who is Ace. Still in the single figures (IRL, loads online)! To find out that I'm not on my own with this and that loads of other people experience it too was so helpful. It helped to know it can vary too between people and is itself a spectrum. some people have different boundaries - e.g. hugs are great, kissing not so much, sex: fuck no (sorry 😂). Romanticism is it's own spectrum too.
I'm glad I was never in a situation like the one in here. If ever there was the slightest chance on a night out (rare I know, but still) I'd usually try and avoid that person and their friends for the rest of the night!
I genuinely thought I was just weird for years when everyone around me was talking about sex and I felt like I had to play along when I was actually super uncomfortable. I am weird, but not for that reason! 😂
Love and sex are 2 entirely different things, and many people don't realise you can easily have the first without the second.
People say "why do you need labels on everything?" Some people don't but it helps many to find out they aren't alone and there is a community out there. It provides security and validation that so many people want and need in their lives.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk 😂
I originally posted this to my facebook as a response/support to this Twitter thread and was basically my way of properly coming out online, even though I've shared asexuality posts before.
I just found out a friend at my golf club (in his 60's) told my mum that it was "a really brave thing" to post this and that they should be proud. He also talked about how it was written and it honestly means so much and I've been fighting the tears for a while. To feel properly accepted in a place where I have witnessed significant homophobia before has really hit me. ❤

Moving in with my (also ace) girlfriend next week as well as 2 other friends and we have our own rooms. I am honestly so excited cos living with her sounds perfect but the thought of sharing a room scares the crap out of me. Things may change but atm it just seems perfect for us.
If I ever end up moving in with someone I’m in a relationship with, I want us to have separate bedrooms. I need us to have our own rooms. This doesn’t mean we won’t sleep together, it means we will get to have our own space when we need/want it. Not just for if we’re fighting, but just because people need space sometimes.

This blog is unapologetically pro sex-workers
No matter whether they stroll or strip, do camwork or full service
Their voices are the ones I listen to on the subject
Anyone who has a problem with that, please find the unfollow button
