I'm guessing this song was difficult for Tom to entrust to another musician. I know it's deeply personal, and I know as an artist that I would struggle to trust another artist with a rework of something so close to the heart.

I'm glad he could trust Rotersand with it. They did a phenomenal job.

i love when a song is an acquired taste. you can listen to something once and go huh. there's something here even if im not quite ready for it yet. and you listen a couple more times. and then bam a couple weeks or months or years later you listen, youve finally worn the song in and it's the most beautiful thing you've ever heard

Confession time: for me, November is the worst month.

It's cold but not cold enough to bundle in winter clothes; we change the clocks and the dark is miserable and oppressive; the trees have lost their leaves but aren't blanketed with snow yet.

November is consistently when I feel the worst.

Last year I had an enlightened thought. You see, I form very strong associations between music and seasons - and some of those associations are even more granular, breaking into "early fall" and "late fall", for example. If I listen to an album "out of season", it feels wrong to me.

My enlightened thought was: what if I purposely buy really great albums in November, and form an association between this month and great music?

It worked. It worked wonderfully.

This whole album is gorgeous, but this song in particular gets into my head and won't leave for days. I love it.

Last November was okay. This one's turning out to not be so bad either.
