Let’s get one thing straightened out; rich people love to do rich people shit. Whether it be deep-throating oysters in the coastal towns of France, raiding designer stores, or pretending to relate to the lower class, they do it and they do it often.

Jeon Jungkook is guilty of most of the above. At 25 years of age, he lives in a multi million-dollar house situated in the privacy and luxury of the Hills. His neighbors live just as lavishly; some actors, some dentists, and some wealthy by marriage. Their problems seem bizarre to the average person, but respectfully, problems are problems. If you’re feeling off about something — even if you’re standing in your ten-acre garden and can’t seem to decide where to build your own personal water park — you still have a problem.

Jungkook has a problem of his own, but we’ll get to that in a moment.

How the fuck did he get so rich and where do I sign up? You might be thinking to yourself. He writes about the intimate and explicit details of sex. Each of his novels revolve around a successful individual dealing with life’s obstacles and ultimately leaving their imprint on the world. The sex scenes are a by-product of the power play. There’s a lot of power in sex, there’s a lot of love in his heart for life and its obstacles, and there’s a lot of money in publishing well-written (debatable), fantasy-driven erotica novels. 

To say he was born with a silver spoon sticking out of both of his ears would be a bit of an overstatement, but not too far from the truth. His parents are the masterminds behind a multi billion-dollar tech company that develops security software. From day one, they drove the tech-fantasy into their sons head, and even though they persuaded him to graduate college with a Bachelor of Advanced Computer Science, things took a different turn once he stepped foot into the real world; he grew a little too cocky with his qualifications, social status, and good looks, and so spent his time entertaining a rowdy bunch of people, partying, having insane amounts of sex, drinking whatever was handed to him, snorting blow off bars, and everything else the champagne life entails.

And then, like most young people, he was inspired by a short-lived summer romance. She was an aspiring solicitor, beautiful, confident, and determined, but her determination made her use people like dental floss. She bat her eyelashes a thousand times, said anything to grow her network, and lied like it was a 9-5 job. But, as much as it hurt him, he never grew to hate her. There was something about her — maybe it was the way she could tame every doubt in his mind, or the way she built herself from the ground up — that made it clear that she knew the world was hers. She was the inspiration behind his first novel. Similar to how musicians write an array of emotional lyrics and dedicate music videos to ex-lovers, he too found a way to tell stories. The difference is that he never writes out of spite. No matter how many chapters of heartbreak he could write, he believes it to be wholly unproductive. He sees the good and the fun in others or he doesn’t see at all.

He knew many fine publishers through his parents, so it wasn’t long before he was an official published author with a new network of literate friends. His novel was a quick success thanks to his advertising team. They worked their ass to the bone to gain a cult following for him. Posters were on bus-stops, library walls, retirement home notice boards, and even on the ‘Do Not Feed the Ducks’ signs at parks. If the ducks and the elderly weren’t already into sexy, but also kind of odd novels, they sure as hell are now.

He was crowned the king of erotica just a week after his first publication.

I was gonna leave it, but I’ve gotten a few more asks for a list of my faves since then so I’ve finally updated and finished it. 552 by annafeu 

 –Annafeu and minverse are two of the best fic writers I’ve ever come across, and I’m so proud that amazing writers like minverse and knth gets the recognition they deserve, but I really feel like annafeu doesn’t for how incredible and detailed and thought-out her characters and plotlines are. 552 is one of the first vmin fics I ever read, and even though it has a bit of gore/violence and that’s not normally the kind of stories I look for, what really draws me to her is that you can tell she does her research for every little fact and it just makes the story so incredibly realistic. Even though her fics usually have pretty heavy themes, those small scenes of calm and a pinch of fluff really mean so much more in contrast to the rest of the fic’s angst and I just really love how she develops her stories so much.

Fly Me To The Moon by dulcetlove  

–This was another one of the first vmin fics I ever read. I always saw Jimin as super cute and sweet in real life, and this fic is the first one I came across where he’s written as the softest baby boy. I was kind of confused at first to the whole Big/Little concept, and I completely understand that it’s not everyone’s type of reading, but even though I’d never read a Big/Little fic before, it immediately became one that I kept going back to and still continue to go back and read. I love seeing Jimin and Taehyung’s characters development and the somewhat role reversal from the beginning until the end of the story. dulcetlove writes them pretty much like how I imagine they would in real life, and I love cannon characters. Overall it’s just really fluffy, and like 552, aspects of it might make some feel uncomfortable, but it’s one of my all-time favorite fics.

Jammed by minverse  

–Alright, now Jammed is pretty much a universal crowd favorite. minverse is such a clever, detailed and funny writer who really makes you understand the characteristics of whichever member she writes about. This, along with 552 and Fly Me To The Moon was another one of the first few vmin fics I’ve ever read, and I was genuinely cracking up at certain parts. She just finds a way to make you fall in love with the characters and all their quirks. She’s so creative, hilarious, detailed, and talented. Additionally, for a side note: even though it’s not vmin, her yoonjin fic “Inc.” is also one of my favorite fics because she’s just hysterical in the dialogue she writes between the characters, and there’s side vmin which is a win for everyone.

Europa and the Storm That Never Ended by annafeu  

-Quite possibly, this is might be my favorite fic of all time. I’ve already expressed my love for annafeu and her stories, and since I love fics that have the fluff-smut-angst combo, this fic is a favorite because it perfectly incorporates all three. She manages to make you come to your own conclusions without writing what exactly is happening in each character’s mind, and in this fic you can truly feel how trapped both Taehyung and Jimin feel and yet she does a really good job of making it evident that there’s no specified “bad guy,” as she explains in her endnotes. I really love this fic, and even though it doesn’t have that much smut (which usually is the make or break factor for my thirsty ass), I really love it and read the angsty parts over and over (which is another very rare thing for me).

-This fic…oh boy. It took me a good three readings for it to fully hit me how incredible it is. The first I was kind of just skimming through and waiting for the smut (yes, I’m that impatient, horny bitch), but then when I went back to reread it so I understood the dialogue of the smut scene, I was nearly tearing up during the story. By the third time really analyzing everything, I came to the conclusion that this is certainly one of my all-time favorite fics. This writer manages to make you feel just as torn as Jimin is between the two worlds, and you can feel Jimin going back and forth between acceptance of his new life and trying to find his way back home. You feel yourself wavering back and forth perhaps even more than Jimin, and this fic makes you absolutely adore Taehyung. Most fics make me love him, but this just broke my heart for him.

the truth runs wild by sesquipedalia  

–I’m not huge on multi-chaptered fics usually, but I was kind of curious about this one due to the title being a lyric from a Troye Sivan song that I love, so I went ahead and read the whole thing, and holy shit. This writer is absolutely extraordinary in how beautifully they set this story. The dialogue, the imagery, the attention to every detail, all of the angsty buildup just made it impossible to stop going onto the next chapter until I had finished the whole fic in one sitting. It also has a historical fiction aspect to it, which is my absolute favorite genre. This is also one of the first a/b/o dynamics fics I’d read, and it made me really have an appreciation for that category of writing, whereas before I’d just thought of it as something to make the smut scenes hotter lol. There’s honestly not a whole lot I can say without giving mad spoilers to this one, but the thing that made me love it the most was definitely the suspense leading up to the climax.

Misc:

All the Warm Colors by brittletrinket (I’m not sure if the writer is ever going to finish the rest of the chapters, but I really hope so. It’s a/b/o dynamics, and it’s pretty much all angst with some small fluffy moments from what I can see, but there might be smut later on? It’s really well written and the plot is really different from anything I’ve seen and I’m hoping she continues it)

Was it a smart decision? Maybe not. On more than one occasion you had overheard one of their brainstorm sessions for throuple costumes; from the Three Stooges to the Sanderson Sisters to Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach.
