Rooms filled with dust light

Sweet smell of musk 

Dances across the balconies 

As passing shadows of women

Sing their girls to sleep 

Hush from the neighbours

As the elders try to sleep

Deserted streets

The lone men outside 

Stroll home, or get straight to work

Or as he always does

Simply sit on the pavement 

Reciting in low tones

As his moist fingers turn the page

Of another day of toil and heat

The sea lulls him to sleep

Almost pulling him into daydreams but as 

He catches the next line  

His hull is shed

His core shakes

And all that is left for him

Is to weep. And weep. And weep.
