No.  Some would be offended at a wolf presenting as a sheep, but I have learned hard lessons from your kind — so I know the truth.  You’re all wolves.

My sister had to use an image inducer to get to and from protests to be safe from any Rotblut or European League assholes who might be on the same train as her. She said that if you had any buttons or mutant pride symbols visible and some anti-mutant protesters saw them, they would follow that person around and bump into them on purpose just to find an image inducer - and if they caught anyone alone they would just straight up steal or destroy them. That way, many of my sister’s friends were scared to go home. Everyone at home knew my sister was a mutant, but some of her friends really spent their last cents on some black market image inducers to hide their mutations  - even from their parents sometimes - and when these assholes destroyed them, they were scared to go home without them because they were scared someone would see them.

I mean, I don’t have to tell you how fucking expensive a proper image inducer is but my parents always made sure that my sister had a spare or two in case someone couldn’t get home and if they couldn’t afford it that she had enough money for a second train ticket to bring someone home. I know this is kinda...off topic, but. Image inducers are just straight up not designed with anything but cosmetics in mind. I knew a guy once who got outed because his image inducer projected his skin like...two centimeters over from his fur - he looked like some weird pastel coloured balloon and he couldn’t pick anything up because people would see that it would just go straight through his skin.

image inducers? Are one thing, I’m not going to go make a big body positivity speech because I’m not the right person to do that. but mutants should have an actual say in the design and functionality of image inducers and they should be practical and sturdy and easy to disguise. These designers just care about not seeing any muties on the street and not about protecting us.

I’ve been criticised in the past that my harsh Stance against Image Inducers attacks other Mutant’s Right to choose freely how to present themselves. Which implies that such a Liberty would exist. Except it doesn’t.

As long as People with visual Mutations cannot experience the same Quality of Life with and without an Image Inducer - as long as our Brothers and Sisters are attacked and excluded and ostracised for not wearing an Image Inducer - wearing an Image Inducer is not a “free Choice”.

Okay describing my mutation-  basically I adapt to water. If I'm at the surface I get fins, when I go deeper my skin hardens against the pressure and I get gills - but I can never go all the way, so that sucks. I can't go fully fish or at least I haven't so far and when I'm on land I don't fully reverse anymore either so if I start to dry out and stuff and it's pretty uncomfortable tbh

The best thing about it is...having a second home you know? I see stuff no human saw before me. Plus powered water folks are a bit of a community of our own. And it reminds me of my family because they had similar mutations. I guess those were 3 favourite things.

I mean I met shapeshifters and I met people with aquatic traits and I met people who can adapt but I'm like. The crossover event.

Manifestation was more of a process for me. It started with the scales and the hair and the skin and... you get the idea, the visuals. But the actual powers happened when I- when... Let's say when I "was experiencing a state of extraordinary emotional turmoil that triggered the manifestation of my powers." As the textbook puts it.

What I thought about mutants before I manifested - as I said,  I come from a mutant family and they we're all pretty active in the community so there was never anything taboo about mutation among us. Sometimes I hated being like The Mutant Family(TM) in our town but I was also proud of it.
