we need to talk about tsukiyachi again

Okay guys I just noticed a tiny crumb !

So I was re-watching some parts of haikyuu cause I was bored and then I saw it

Yachi was writing to her mother about her trip to Tokyo. In it, she talked about the team’s play and progress and the argument between Hinata and Kageyama i.e. how they don’t talk as much, and then their failed new ‘attack formation’

…….AND THEN she talked about Tsukki. omfg. Because Tsukki’s issue on its own was an important thing to her. She was telling her mother about her thoughts and feelings. It wasn’t just about Tsukki’s play, it was about how she was worried about him, his emotions, and then how well he bounced back. She talked about his exhaustion - clearly says how observant she was of him. 

I mean…Kageyama and Hinata’s fight was overt, but Tsukki’s state of mind and emotions were less obvious, yet Yachi picked it up so well.

So to summarise;

1. YACHI DIDN’T MENTION ANYONE ELSE IN HER LETTER BY NAME

2. Those she mentioned by name were hinata and kageyama and it was just about their argument and their play formation (plus, these two are the main characters so it makes sense that she has to at least talk about them)

3. She talked about tsukki on a completely different level. IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! (tsukki isn’t a main character, he is on par with tanaka, nishinoya, daichi, asahi etc as a supporting role, but he gets a mention in her letter !)

MY HEART. She already telling her mama about her future man. I know it. I just know it 💞💞💞

SUGUSHOKO SAME BRAIN THEIR LAST MEETING WAS SO

Omg!! Sorry for answering so late but YES!! Their last meeting is so good bc you have wanted criminal geto and shoko not treating him seriously at all. The contrast in intensity between her meeting with geto and gojo’s is hilarious.

Bc it’s a small but meaningful scene I like to think about what was unsaid like how they both felt/what they were thinking during that time. Was shoko bitter? Did she not care? Did she truly just find it hilarious? Did she see geto’s defection coming? How about geto? Did he go to shoko bc he didn’t want to call gojo himself? Did he go bc he also wanted to see shoko? (I mean he’s carrying a lighter even if he doesn’t seem to be a smoker). So many things. I think they’re so neat. And because they have little to no scenes together in the manga there’s more space to think about their dynamic (I’m looking at the bright side here).

Actually, y'know what, SuguShoko and GojoHime are actually so underrated but they really have some good chemistry and potential to them!

I personally really love banter in relationships, so Gojo and Utahime's constant bickering is a major drawing point. They're funny! I love seeing them interact, but despite the humor, I think there's something deeper about their arguing when you look into it.

Despite Gojo's constant need to tease her, he undeniably trusts her and her abilities. He knows she's capable, and that's why she was the first one he went to about the mole.

I also like that Utahime treats Gojo like Gojo instead of treating him as "The Strongest." She has no illusions about his true strength, but still doesn't put him on a pedestal for it like say, Miwa and Naoya.

As for Suguru and Shoko, they just vibe together so well in a way I wish I could more accurately put into words; they just have an effortless chemistry despite how unfortunately rare scenes of them together are.

They both have this sort of chill, laid-back demeanor. Level headed and practical, even if their outlooks vary wildly. Even after literally butchering an entire village, Shoko doesn't really treat Geto any different. She's not even afraid of him and laughs at how ridiculous his ideals are. It just reads to me how comfortable she still is with him.

Plus both of these ships have that good height difference 👌 and I fucks with that. They're also aesthetic as hell and my Bi ass is in love with all four of them so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Idk why megumi and tsumiki make sense idk why?

Or you are wondering why people like them and don’t see how it makes sense to us?

Hopefully it’s the former:

For me, it’s the idea that they are so familiar with each other because they grew up together. They chose each other as family. 

Since they did not have a parental figure looking after them in the traditional sense of the word, I headcanon they had to make up what it means to be a “sister” and “brother” to each other. 

So the way I see it, they made up their own definition of the word to represent their closeness and/or to define their bond.

Basically, in my brain, Megumi and Tsumiki are platonic and romantic soulmates.

Megumi and Tsumiki are not blood related, so I also headcanon that, on top of having said soulful bond, as they grew up and the hormones started raging (because they are teenagers probably living without adult supervision), they could have realized that they see each other as more than brother and sister.

I even wrote a fic about this headcanon that needs to be heavily edited because #perfectionism 🤓. You can read it on ao3 or somewhere in this blog’s feed if you are up for it.

Anyways, that’s my headcanon of what we don’t see because Gege does not show them interacting together very much at all.

What he does show is that Megumi thinks of her when he is asked about his type of woman. I know the fandom loves to interpret this differently but I don’t understand why anyone would think of a sibling first when asked about his type.

Gege also shows that Megumi is ferociously trying to protect Tsumiki at all costs at the end of the origin of obedience arc and during the culling game arc.

To me it also looks like Megumi pines for Tsumiki like a bro who got broken up with for being a dick... Because he was a dick to Tsumiki and he knows it.

He totally deserved having that strawberry milk thrown at him...

Actually, this whole scene is so... idk. It reminds me of a boyfriend and girlfriend who had an argument off-camera.

The atmosphere seems to be heavy with everything that is not said between them... and that promise he made to her not to fight again? That moment is fuel for headcanon fanfic material 😂.

That + his internal monologues about her seem to be full of regret about having lost the one person who had chosen him in a world that is otherwise cruel in his eyes.

Not to mention the panels where he thinks of her and remembers her look like straight out of a shojo manga.

There’s so much beauty and feminine energy in this panel. It’s very emotional and to me it speaks to how Megumi feels when he thinks of Tsumiki. 

Tsumiki makes Megumi feel beautiful feelings. 

Remember... they’re teenagers. 

I’m not trying to sexualize anyone, I just remember what I was like at their age and whoa! Hormones!

So to me, all of this feels very much like “hmmm what is going on here? what is Gege telling us without actually coming out and saying it?” 🤔🤔🤔

To be honest, I think this is one of those times when Gege is trolling the fandom (the way I feel I am being trolled by this ask). Since he’s already shown us Ui Ui’s unabashed obsession with his sister, Mei Mei, I have the feeling that Gege is into the siscon trope.

Speaking of the siscon trope, Megumi actually reminds me a lot of a couple of other siscon characters: Tanizaki Junichiro (Bungou Stray Dogs) and Fuwa Mahiro (Zetsuou no Tempest).

Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen/read either of these anime/manga:

Mahiro spent so much time denying his feelings and attraction for his step-sister, Aika, that when she dies, he goes looking after her killer to exact vengeance since this is the only way he can come to terms with having lost her and having denied how he felt towards her

Junichiro is up front about how the way he loves his sister, Naomi, is above morality. It is also heavily implied that there is more going on between them than just your usual “sibling” relationship. And don’t you dare mess with Naomi because Junichiro is ferocious, just like Mahiro and Megumi, when it comes to protecting his sister from harm

So... basically that’s why megumiki makes sense to me 😂.

Sometimes I hate when the fandom takes fanon headcanons or ideas and treat them as canon material when it's not and then get mad when not everyone in the fandom vibes with it. Like, it's not an inherently bad thing, and most of them are actually pretty damn cool. But sometimes I just think to myself, he or she are not, in fact, gay or lesbian just because the majority of the fandom, for whatever reason, depicts that character(s) as their gay baby/lesbian girl boss wife. Like, if that's how you feel, good for you! That doesn't make that thought true for everyone though.

Therefore, people AREN'T automatically homophobic/lesphobic just for not viewing a character the way that you do. And to be real, if y'all can project your sexualities and identities onto these characters despite it conflicting with canon depictions/material, you cannot turn around and deny other members of the fandom that same right as well.

Obviously, there's exceptions and stuff, but still. You can't say he's gay or she's a lesbian, even though canonically speaking they're not and are straight, then turn around and get mad when someone else headcanons them as bi, pan, trans, ace, etc. That's not how that works. And low-key, that kinda shit is biphobic, panphobic, transphobic, acephobic, etc. because a lot of the l and g in the lgbtq don't support those particular identities or want us to get any kind of representation or support because they think it takes away from theirs, even though it literally doesn't, but y'all ain't ready for those conversations.

And hating straight people has never been cool or trendy, so maybe stop doing that? Like, you hating someone solely for their identity is hypocritical when you know how it feels to have someone hate you solely b/c of yours. M/F ships aren't boring just because they're m/f, and y'all need to stop doing that shit too. You can't say ship whatever you want (within reason) and then get mad when people do it lmao
