odysseus absolutely does present a threat to penelope if he perceives her as at all unfaithful, and i feel the unfairness of this, and i think people tend to undersell how much tension at least potentially exists between odysseus and penelope. but i'm also like. his reaction, all speculation aside, his actual reaction in the odyssey to her flirting with the suitors is delight, because he immediately ascertains that she is running a con. sorry that they're so in-sync in spite of the forces that try to drive a wedge between them, including their own misgiving hearts. sorry that they invented homophrosyne ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

On November 7, 2024, Denmark used a racist, culturally biased "parenting competency" test to remove a 2 hour old baby, Zammi, from her loving indigenous Greenlandic Inuit mother, Keira, because her native language, which uses minute facial expressions to communicate, will not be able to "[prepare] the child for the social expectations and codes that are necessary to navigate in Danish society." This test had been recommended not to be used at the federal level before this happened but certain municipalities, including the one this happened in, chose to continue to use it regardless. Not only is this blatantly racist but also violates multiple declarations and conventions that Denmark has signed that protect the rights of indigenous people.

Got called a weirdo irl for the way I write my fics sooo
I am the “writes in document tabs” if anyone’s wondering
#my writing process is kind of complicated#it begins with me dumping ideas in notes app#then usually on the same note i write the fic. and usually without capitalizing anything.#when it gets long enough to be annoying it goes in a google doc#and then it gets proper capitalization#and then once i finish writing i pester my girlfriend to edit it for me lol#and that's. a whole process. because we are both very. neurodivergent about writing.#but hey if the fic gets written it's whatever#sooo notes app and then google doc all one tab#tabs are too new for me to have made use of them yet#one time i didnt have my phone so i wrote fic on the back of a subway receipt

I'm not even like deaf or hoh but if you're adding subtitles to something I think you should always transcribe foreign languages too. None of that [Speaks Spanish] shit. You don't need to translate it to english. But you need to at least give the option for a deaf person to read it and understand it themselves. I don't care if it's not important to the plot. I don't care if it's just them saying like Okay or Damn or whatever the fuck. Write it down
