ーありすー「　well... uh, i suppose it's like knowing              the future perfectly. since you already              know what will happen, then where's the              excitement in living? where's the tension              you feel when someone's going to              announce the winner when in fact, you              already know who it is? that's... pretty              boring, and tragic, if you ask me.　」 she              did not mean to say that her being smart              and receiving good grades is tragic-- it's              the fact that she already knows she'll get              a perfect score. that's the tragic tragedy. 

                       his answer cheers her up even more                    if that's still possible. she grins widely                    at him. it's the first time someone has                    accepted her proposal-- particularly                    because it's also her first time making                    one. jubilee fills and warms her small,                    fragile heart.

「　wanna start now, then? the teacher has        already left. 　」

her second proposal. alice has never addressed the teachers as "mam [name]" or "sir [name]", and simply calls them "the teacher" or "that teacher", whichever one is grammatically correct.

ーありすー「　well... at least there's something              rather than nothing, no? 　」a lovely              yet sad smile approaches her face as              she glances over her paper.              「　always getting 100 is, well, it's              kinda boring. in fact, i'd rather have              your grade that can and actually              does improve rather than this one              that can't get any higher nor lower. 　」              true. even though she was quite              anxious about getting a lower score,              she still prefers it. 

cyar's next statement perturbs her.「　eeh? how come? i'm sure you'd want a higher grade or something. maybe i can, uh, try to teach you or something in case you don't get some topic... 　」her voice halts at the thought of her teaching cyar. a red tint comes colours her face-- because her being able to seat beside him and teach him things far beyond his comprehension, it's really nice and all!

     「　a-ano... are you okay with that, then?　」

ーありすーokay. alright. her grades are alright. her score              is still high. aa, what was she even anxious              about?  hearing her seatmate's voice, she glanced at him (his paper) and saw a number written with red pen and encircled. your score improved by one point rather than mine that stays the same, she hopes to exclaim, but she didn't, knowing he'll get mad. smiling shyly, she responds with, 「　no, but wait, what? cyar, when did i ever boast about my grades?　」 with a sigh, she rests her face against her left arm.       「　at least your score improved by one point.　」      and the second after she says that, she realized  her tongue has slipped-- and yet again, she  embarrassed herself in front of him. surely she'll be  receiving quite a scolding from him again. so, in  hopes that she'll comfort him, she laughed and says,  「　mine always stays the same.　」 yes; always 100.              never 101 nor 99.

      The boy’s green eyes narrowed at the large red number blaring clearly on top of the assignment he’d just gotten back- it seemed to drain his energy as he heaved a dejected sigh. He’d gotten a horrid grade. Again. Though, in all honesty, he’d done so so much that he didn’t really know whether to care or not.

      Hesitantly, he shot a sideways glance to Alice, who sat right next to him. He was able to glimpse her paper well enough to know she aced it, as usual. Shifting uncomfortably, he raised an eyebrow and asked, “What? Ya gonna boast ‘bout your grades or somethin’?”
