We as a fandom are not processing the fact that Viktor saved the world COUNTLESS of times. He used his power to explore every facet of the universe and he constantly tried to make humanity the way he believed it should have been. And every time he did that, the result was unsatisfying and he was left empty. The ONLY thing that gave him some sense of accomplishment and joy was finding Jayce. For every time he tried to change the world, he went back to Jayce. Every single possible timeline Viktor explored ended with Viktor meeting Jayce. Not because destiny or fate made it that way, but by Viktor's own choosing.
