Welcome back to our favorite event! The Zine of Elements continues onto its next stage, Applications! From now until December 14th at 6:00 pm EST, anyone is welcome to apply to participate in the zine.

Artist form || Writer form

You are welcome to apply as both an artist and a writer, but depending on the amount of interest, you may only be accepted as one or the other.

Hello! I hope this isn’t a silly question, but what exactly would be expected of contributors to present during pitches? :)

No, that’s not a stupid question! For both writing and artist pitches, we’re really looking for a clear vision of what you want to create. The pitches don’t need to be lengthy or highly detailed, but the important details should be there.

For artists, a short description of the character(s) and main motion/subject of the piece will work as a pitch. Artists are welcome to provide thumbnails or sketches of their pitches, but are not required to.

For writers, the character(s) and a 3-5 sentence plot synopsis will work as a pitch. Writers are welcome to add genre notes, specific plot beats, or other information to their pitches, but are not required to.

Contributors will be asked to provide 2-3 pitches, and the zine team will then work with them to pick one of those ideas to be the final one.
