YOOO ALVA WIFE MENTION
ok so i actually did some research into this and Aletta Catharina Lorentz-Kaiser (wife of the guy alva was based on) is actually SUPER interesting.
Aletta was a huge women’s rights activist in the Netherlands during the early movements, and was really involved. She was also a major pioneer in the Dutch children’s daycare system which helped care for children whose parents were working mothers or people too ill to care for their child. She became a secretary of the Association for the Care of Small Children which established one of the first child daycares in the Netherlands. NOT ONLY THAT, in 1904 she became a member of the board establishing a playground where children from poorer families were welcomed regardless of faith. Aletta & her husband were also members of the Association for Women’s Suffrage.
Later she also became super active in the well being of single mothers and the father’s responsibility of their children, and even asked for child support reforms! She did a lot of promotional events, including working on the exhibition “The Woman 1813-1918” Apparently Aletta was also on the board of the Association for the Improvement of the Social and the Legal Status of Women in the Netherlands!!!
Another fun fact- one of her close colleagues was the first woman to graduate with a law degree in the Netherlands!!
Aletta was actually a major girlboss, and learning about her was super fun. We almost never learn about women in history so it’s amazing to see how much they accomplished!! Anyhoo, thanks for listening to my little history lesson lol, she’s really interesting!!
YESS ALVA'S WIFE MENTIONED!!!
Good job on the research btw. It's so great that we got Kaiser's name mentioned in Alva's last letter!
(I'm lowkey hoping that she is also somehow involved with the cat cult and Master Herald from Ann's letter.)
Either way it would be so great if they added her to the story. Aletta did so much for the rights of both women and children and her history shouldn't be forgotten.
Thank you for your history lesson! The fact that there are people who remember Alva's wife makes me so happy!
#glad people are learning about her#im gonna be selfish and attribute this all to the wiki page i made for her lol

Video
(Sound in the video is NSFW.)
In 1998, Panasonic Interactive Media released Secret Writer’s Society, an educational game that teaches kids how to write. But because of a horrible problem, under the right circumstances in the Macintosh version, the game’s text-to-speech feature would read a list of obscenities.
Unbelievably, it took a few months for anyone to notice this. There’s some dispute about what caused this: Panasonic says it was a bug involving the game’s swear filter, while anti-corporate activist group RTMark claims it was an act of deliberate, internal sabotage meant to raise awareness about the dangers of outsourcing education to a computer game.
This version of Secret Writer’s Society was pulled, and it has been missing for the past 20 years… but this week, I got a copy. And now you can play it too!
Read the full article on The Obscuritory for the full story about this game, as well as a link to a downloadable copy via the Internet Archive.
