anytime someone asks me why i consider kobe bryant the greatest basketball player ever, i bring up this video in this video, kobe is introduced to a young fan who

idolizes him

is strapped to the t with his gear

looks like he may throw up and burst into tears of joy at the same time.

destroy follow me the rest of this video because the proof is very well hidden but it is there. kobes intentions may seem friendly and fun to the uninformed and oblivious but the fact is this: kobe does not want to lose this game. kobe is not going to let this kid win. kobe is about to annihilate this child. start with me at 2:09. kobe’s first shot is a complete airball, by a significant amount. but too significant, almost as if he’s playing with a handicap. in spite of this, ellen proceeds to yell "KOBE MISSED! KOBE MISSED!" superficially unaware to how much she is baiting a monster right now. kobe is obviously not pleased to see his true intentions overlooked and wets the next shot. he is now in the lead 1-0.

he then holds the ball to see the kid’s next shot, which the kid ends up sinking. kobe then drills another shot like clockwork. he is now up 2-1. there is something you must realize at this moment in the video. take in account here that kobe bryant is not only 6’6 & a professional basketball player, but that he is competing against a mere child that is shooting what seems to be 20 foot jumpers on an nba sized rim, and is lucky to make even 1 shot, especially in front of a live audience, including his mother and his IDOL who he had just minutes prior expressed his adoration for and showed off all the memorabilia he owns of him and kobe is still gonna try and keep it close in an act of solidarity, kobe then shoots an ingenuine “mercy” shot towards the kid’s basket in hopes of giving him points. it bricks, unsurprisingly. the kid responds to this underhanded gesture by making his own shot. it is now tied 2-2. kobe seems decently impressed, even watches the kid take a few more shots. killing time, kobe throws the ball off the front of the rim, feigning as if he’s just going to take the tie with 15 seconds left. the kid then surprises everyone and makes a third shot. the score is now 2-3 with the kid in the lead. now this is where kobe’s demeanor changes. where he previously was all smiles and laughs, after the third shot his posture switches up. he keeps the smile but his look is different. from the way he looks at the kid to the way he turns back and looks at ellen like “who the fuck this nigga think he is" before drilling YET ANOTHER SHOT ON THIS CHILD, tying the game 3-3. absolutely pleased with his actions, kobe slyly smiles and picks up yet another ball. there are 4 seconds left. 4 seconds left on a nationally broadcasted family show that could change this kid’s whole life (or at least how his friends see him at school), and kobe is ready to sink another shot just in case. but out of nowhere and to everyone’s surprise, the kid makes a last second shot. game over. kobe acts as if he is in absolute disbelief. i’m not sure if kobe already had the family pay a blood sacrifice before the shows taping or if he honestly pulled out of ruining this little boy’s dreams on tv at the last second, but you can even tell in his face that he is not thrilled to have lost. yet through it all, kobe gives the kid a fake smile and asks him if he’d want to play for the lakers in november, while giving him that slight “i will break you" stare straight into his eyes.

to reward the kid for beating him, kobe brings out a fucking.. like easter basket of kobe stuff and laker tickets for him, including the shoes the kid already fucking has on. but that just details the twisted mind of kobe bryant gift the kid a pair of shoes matching the ones that he beat you in. make sure he keeps them in remembrance until the time is right. and then, and only then, get your revenge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeKf1HC9zhg
