Most liberating thing ever is realizing people are so fickle and you can fall out of their favor so easily so u might as well just do your thing . Literally does not matter

You are not “wasting your potential” because you took a break, or because you’re exhausted, sick or because you are struggling to find purpose. Please, take some time off, take care of yourself, listen to the needs of your body and your mind. Do the things you want to do to make you happy and fulfilled, not what others think you should, not what’s more successful in their minds. You aren’t wasting your life, nor wasting your potential. You are still deciding how to live it, what is the purpose of it, and you will find motivation to fight for what you want when you figure yourself out, but please take your time and don’t listen to the pressure of people around you to comfort to their expectations of success.

As the year is ending soon... this is your friendly reminder that you didn’t waste your year. any moments of happiness or comfort, any small accomplishments, they all matter. this has been a really hard year, and simply surviving is something to be proud of. 🤎

Hypervigilance, depression, anxiety, ptsd and pretty much any other mental illness can cause fatigue.
So if you’re mentally ill and feel tired and low on energy - that is not because you are lazy, it is probably because your brain and your body have been working hard fighting for you.
The struggle you’re having is real, and don’t let anyone (yourself included) invalidate it by calling you lazy.

If you're a writer you're supposed to write a lot of bullshit. It's part of the gig. You have to write a lot of absolute garbage in order to get to the good bits. Every once in a while you'll be like "Oh, I wish I hadn't wasted all that time writing bullshit," but that's dumb. That's exactly the same as an Olympic runner being like "Oh, I wish I hadn't wasted all that time running all those practice laps"

Remember: it is not your job to make everyone merry around you this holiday season. It is not your job to keep your family or friends from being dysfunctional, it is not your responsibility to create perfect occasions no person will forget. Your responsibility is to make sure you have a good time wherever you are, feeling comfortable. The festive season is about compassion, but do remember to extend some of it to yourself.

It is the end of the year, and the pressure to have a good time, to be with your family, to have holidays, to take a break and feel joyful and wholesome can be too much when you cannot bring yourself to experience all of those festive occasions or feel the joy everyone talks about. If you are having a hard time, please don't pressure yourself to feel like others do, please don't invalidate your own feelings. Some people can't be merry all of a sudden just because it is a festive season. It doesn't change the problems they face, the hurt they feel. It adds extra pressure on them when people say "just be happy" when it's not that easy. If you are having a hard time, please know you are not alone. Please take care of yourself the best you can.

“You can run, run, run away from a lot of things in life, but you can’t run away from yourself. And the key to happiness is to understand and accept who you are.”
