Quick as a wink, she’s up and moving every single bottle well out of his reach. “The only thing you will be drinking for the next few hours is water, Guzma,” she chastised, shaking her head. “Why not? You are simply going to make a fool out of yourself if you try to get up.”

“That’s the idea. You need to cool down.” She smiles at her little joke, but it quickly turns into a frown when he starts to move again. “None of that. Do not force my hand, Guzma. I do not wish to be made to restrain you.” Her eyes are blank, not showing a hint of whether or not she’s jesting.

Eirlys said nothing at first, just giving the man a blank stare. She knew that people came up the mountain to sight-see, of course, but he didn’t look like a tourist. He simply looked like someone who had gotten in over his head.

“We have gotten the occasional... celebrity, as you call them, since a man came and declared this to be the perfect place to construct a ‘league.’ I am not sure why he decided that--the weather here is unforgiving.” As if to accentuate her point, a particularly strong gust of wind blew past. Notably, she didn’t even sway in the blast. “Even if your intention is simply to pass through, it might be in your best interest to take shelter in a nearby cave. The storm is set to get worse until sunrise, when it will abate.”

While Eirlys might have been a stranger to this forest, she exuded a certain aura that drew younger Pokemon to her. They felt calmed by her, reassured that everything would be okay now that she was around. It didn’t surprise her when they came to her with a request, although the nature of it was rather intriguing.

They said that the shack was haunted. Apparently, young Pokemon would dare each other to go into it, to touch a bookshelf or a lamp, and then run out. But the last time one had gone in, they’d seen something moving without anything touching it. Now, they were too scared to even go near it--and the tastiest berries were found on the far side.

She climbed the creaking steps, lifting her draping dress so it didn’t catch on the splintered wood, and pushed open the door. It swung inward without any resistance, giving her a view of a dark room, filled with items. “Hello?” she called, moving in and peering about. “Is anyone here?”
