FIT Showcase Student Exhibition
These are images from the Fashion Institute of Technology showcasing student work from the associates fashion design program. This was a beautiful showcase, we were able to see the students creative processes, thoughts and designs. Thought the collection we were able to see the various inspirations and moldboards from each individual and what inspired their designs. You were able to follow the creative direction from the mood boards to the end garment.
There were numerous different types of styles on display. I was so cool seeing all the different types of techniques used on the garments. For example, in the images you can see one student using tapered candles throughout the corset of her dress, you also see very detailed bead work throughout another corset top; this goes to show how much effort and creative process goes into each garment.

Seen on the Streets of New York City
This is my take on the famous Bill Cunningham's style shots and image set up.
Recently walking around the city I have been seeing a lot of the transitional trench coats. The trench coat is a simple classic that most have in their wardrobes and can be wore quite often throughout the year. In some cases people have kept with the simple black trench for and everyday look; or switching it up by leaning for a more natural softer color like brown, tans, or creamy whites.
Recently from different runway shows and on the street, I have seen new innovative looks of the classic trench coat in bright bold colors, or various fun prints. In addition to the new twist of color and prints, I have also seen the additional details of thick fur cuff and collars as embellishments. Further giving the coat a new and updated look also allowing people to use it as a way to dress up their outfits.

Designing Women: Fashion Creators and Their Interiors Assignment
The first exhibition of "Designing Women: Fashion Creators and Their Interiors is of the first exhibitions like it at the Museum at FIT's permanent collection. There are around 70 garments showcased in the exhibition. The collection is presented through chronological order, showing a variety of garments and objects from the time period of 1890s to the 1970s. Some featured creators within the exhibition are Jeanne Paquin, Lucile, Jeane Lanvin, Medeleine Vionnet, Pauline Potter and various more. All showcasing the most compelling interiors created for leading fashion designers.
This exhibition showcases the creative fields exemplifying the gracious art of living better than fashion and interior decoration. This is one of the first shows to explore and celebrate the intersection of these profoundly influential disciplines. Each fashion Designer in this exhibition is represented by one garment or accessory, showcased with an interior image. Each one of these images of professionally crafted salons and divine apartments were used as inspiration and allowed these designers the space to express the passion from these fashion creators.
