On April 29, 2017 my parents threw us a wedding shower. The day was filled with love and laughter! My best friend Raiza took over the dessert table, my best friends Angeli and Diana and sister in law Jayanne took over the games. Diana made some amazing sangria. Joey and I were felt so loved that day! My moms body scrub giveaway was a hit. Everyone wanted one 😂 Oh and I can’t forget the taco lady! Her tacos were also a hit especially her fresh tortillas and watermelon juice! The day was overall amazing and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Whitewater Excitement

We had so many wedding festivities prior to the wedding. Our friends decided to throw us a coed bachelor/bachelorette celebration in Auburn, Ca at Whitewater Excitement. A couple of days before the event we found out that a storm was coming. We received precautious warnings from the company and was advised to bring certain gear like an extra pair of wool clothes. As soon as we arrived in Sacramento there was a huge storm and it hailed from the airport to our hotel. I thought it was going to break through the roof of our car rental. It was pretty scary, everyone in the car was pretty hesitant to go rafting the following day. Nonetheless, as soon as we arrived at the hotel we all devoured some courage juice. A very fine selection that is considerate a staple at every party, Crown Royal 😂 We all decided that night that we were still going to rafting despite the storm and despite the temperature which was around the lower 40F. We woke up around 5AM to make to the site. It was so cold, even with the layers of clothing we had on. The staff at Whitewater Excitement were so passionate and so cool. These were some of the most down to earth people I've ever met. They wanted us to have such a positive experience that they let us borrow some of their merchandise to stay warm. They said that this is the highest they’ve ever the water because of all the rain that we had that winter, so it was going to be a really wild adventure. We got instructions on what to do incase the rafts capsize, how to maneuver through the waves and was also told that the route was split in half; we were going to go through the upper trail, stop midway for some lunch and then continue on to the lower trail. We were also told that if the waves got too intense we would stop halfway through for safety precaution. Rafting was so much fun, despite the ice cold water and the intense waves, I had a blast. I was really hesitant at first and was scared that someone would get hurt, but we got through it and it was so much fun. We ended up stopping halfway because the current got too fast and the waves were getting big. The kind staff decided to give us credit for the other half of the trail. They gave us all their snacks because they felt bad about the weather and what had happened. I was so happy we stopped lol my fingers were stuck and it was so hard to stretch out my legs because I was so cold. I remember our guide laughing at me because my hands were stuck the oars 😂 We still all have our credit, no one used up their credit yet....

Shortly after my bachelorette in Cabo, some of my girlfriends who couldn’t make it threw me a surprise mini bachelorette at Newport Beach. This day trip was very much like a weekend in Vegas. There was a lot of alcohol involved, it was like breathing and taking shots lived side by side. These mommas did not hold back. After our little boat adventure some of the others girls met up with us at a restaurant in Sobeca at Costa Mesa. The dinner was a bit blurry and the girls didn’t really eat much lol everyone was too drunk 😂

My bachelorette was unbelievably amazing. The memories made will never be forgotten. I told my girls I didn’t want an itinerary, I simply wanted everyone to have fun. And that is exactly what happened! LOL We stayed at Hotel Rui during spring break, so it was wild all night long. I swear that hotel got no sleep. People were up partying till the break of dawn. Having an intimate trip with my girls was priceless, I thought it was better than having all of my girlfriends go to Vegas or somewhere local where more could have attended.

Waialae Country Club

*Joey and Nikki (as teens) used to fantasize about getting married in Hawaii.

We wanted to have a ceremony by the beach, but as we got older we realized that this was far beyond our expense.

On Thursday, Sept. 1st our lives changed......

Joey was on a mission to make it to Waialae Country Club before sunset. Nikki had a whole day planned out for them to do, but Joey found ways to cancel them. Nikki wanted to go to Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation and then spend the rest of the day in North Shore. To prevent this plan from happening Joey frantically started panicking about a package that needed to be delivered for work. It wasn't for work. It was actually the engagement ring. When they arrived at FedEx, Joey told Nikki that he lost his driver's license and that they had to go back to the hotel to look for it. This was all a plan to lag and not go to North Shore. After about an hour of looking for Joey's driver's license, "he found it underneath the car seat." He told Nikki to pack a pretty dress because he wanted to go to a steak house and that they wouldn't have enough time to go to all the places she wanted to go to that day. To compromise, he said they only had enough time to go to one place. Nikki chose Dole Plantation.

Upon arrival at Waialae Country Club, Joey told Nikki to get dressed. Joey said he was going to the restroom to change, but he really met up with the videographer to hide the microphone inside his clothes. Nikki changed in the car. The edited video below will explain the rest.
