Overall thoughts
Second upload of the week and as it鈥檚 the last post needed for college, I thought I鈥檇 give my overall experience of Glasgow nightlife during COP26 and what could be improved upon going forward. So, after having a couple nights out over the course of COP26 I would say their has been some changes to how the nightlife is in Glasgow, with the added police around the city walking back to the bus stop or train station felt generally safer and because of this in my opinion fights outside of bars and clubs happened a lot less therefore that also made the night out easier. What do I believe should be taken forward from COP26? In an ideal world more police on the streets especially on weekends would be the way going forward as having the presence of them there lowers the need for crime and having the road signs on city streets for pedestrians giving clear directions to all key locations around the city would also be a good thing to keep as it helps navigate through the city to where you need to go. Hopefully you have enjoyed my uploads for my college assessment and have learned or taken something from my thoughts and experiences, until next time.

My time in Glasgow
Another week another upload, after last weeks safety tips I thought I鈥檇 talk about my experience on my last night out during COP26 and how I felt the clubs and security were. I went out Tuesday night for a meal and a couple drinks with the guys from college and was expecting there to be lots of road and street closures however after getting off the train there was no issues getting to the restaurant. After the meal we decided to go out and started off at driftwood where we took place in pub quiz and came 2nd so we had to celebrate that and moved on to The Garage, where they had the bouncy castle out so it was quite busy for a Tuesday night however security was brilliant and kept the same standard throughout the night completing bag and body searches on arrive and regularly walking round the club to make sure all was behaving and nothing suspicious was happening. Overall for being out during COP26 and protests happening I did not feel unsafe at any point of the night and enjoyed my night out and felt if anything security had been improved and hopefully this standard stays after COP26 is done with.聽

out and about
Second upload of the week, how are you all, I鈥檝e been really tired these past couple days think the dark nights are starting to catch up but nothing can be done. So how did you get on with the homemade cocktails, did you have a go at making some, did you go your own way and go off recipe please let me know in the comments below I鈥檓 interested to find out. So what I wanted to speak about today is what you can do to be save while out drinking so here are some tips to being safe.
1.聽聽聽聽聽 Stay with who you went out with. Might seem fun meeting new people but you never really know who they are.
2.聽聽聽聽聽 Watch your drink. Might seem basic knowledge but making sure that nothing gets dropped into your drink is most important when drinking
3.聽聽聽聽聽 Keep valuables hidden. Don鈥檛 go waving your mobile phone about at the end of the night, it makes you an easy target for theft.
4.聽聽聽聽聽 Make sure you have a way to get home at the end of the night and stay to your prearranged plan.
Hopefully some of these tips will come in useful next time your out and keeping safe, and until next time.

popular drinks
Another week another upload, after briefly commenting on drinks last update, I thought I鈥檇 go a little more into popular drinks then give you my very own recipe for my favourite cocktail. Now for all standings shots are without a doubt ordered most throughout the night, the most commonly ordered shot is Tequila, which isn鈥檛 my cup of tea but everyone鈥檚 different, another commonly ordered drink is the classic gin and tonic and with the huge variety of flavors available in gin it鈥檚 not hard to understand why it鈥檚 most ordered. Cocktails are also popular in clubs and in Scotland the favourite has got to be a Venom, in its green colour and sweet but bitter taste its not unusual to see this in the hands of at least half the club. My personal own favourite has got to be a Negroni in the summer with fresh orange peel. The best way I鈥檝e found to make one is; 1oz. London dry gin, 1oz. Campari, 1oz. vermouth rosso. Add all ingredients into a cocktail mixer and stir well with cracked ice and strain over a glass with ice. Then sit back and enjoy with hopefully a little sun. If you decide to try it out please feel free to let me know how you got on and until next time.聽

Post 2
What鈥檚 up guys here鈥檚 another update on the blog, so today I thought I鈥檇 talk a little bit about the most popular clubs around Glasgow and mention a few of my favorite鈥檚 spots to go to both bar and club. One of Glasgow鈥檚 most notable day and night club is The Sanctuary with its outdoor terrace which can sit up to 200 guests with log fires for when the cold sets in, while indoors it鈥檚 a sea of LED lights that are sure to light up the night with top notch security, it is easily one of the best places to party all day and night and feel safe while doing so. A favorite among students has got to be The Garage with its constant flow of bright drinks and deafening music it really is the place to be, they even have the occasional bouncy castle available for some extra fun. I mean who wouldn鈥檛 want to drink and bounce.聽
Tumblr media
However as someone who prefers having a seat while out drinking, I thought I鈥檇 talk about some of my go to spots. Many of my nights start out in The Ark which is a cool local sports bar just 5 minutes away from the college building with cheap drinks and great food it鈥檚 the perfect place to start your night. From there I typically head up to Driftwood which is a lively bar that gives off shipwreck vibes with it鈥檚 wood interior, they often host theme nights which are fun if your into that stuff along with quizzes and your typical bar/club music that is sure to get you in the dancing mood. They also offer a range of unique drinks that are themed to the night for example for Halloween they were offering drinks such as Ursula鈥檚 venom and more, you are sure to have a great night if you head down. Until next time.

New blog - weekly updates
Hi there, I am currently writing this as it is an assessment for college, I am 19 years old just getting back into education after a 2-year sabbatical from school, during which I worked full time in a restaurant before covid 19 hit.聽
After being left with no job I decided to come back to education and study event management. As part of my course, we are required to upload a blog so this is where we are. This blog is going to be talking about nightlife in Glasgow, how safe it really is going out and I will also leave my favourite cocktail recipe in a weeks update when I talk about unique drinks in Glasgow that are fun and exciting.聽
This blog is strictly my own personal opinion although I will be including some true facts and stories from outside sources, all may not be 100% true and may even be unreliable so double check before you go out to make sure anything you read is up to date and correct. However, I will do my best to make sure everything I write is as true to fact as possible. This blog will be updated twice a week for as long as is required from my course.
