â§Break a Hex
3đŻđĄ âď¸
â˝ đł/đ 7:34đđŞ â§ â˝ â âď¸ 11:30đđŞ
Color of the Day : Gold
Incense of the Day : Frankincense
âĽ
Mint and pepper team up in this spell to break a hex
Just combine three leaves of chopped fresh mint [⧠or two teaspoons dried mint] and a teaspoon of black pepper in a small bowl.
Before you begin speak over your mixture :
When you feel you've been hexed,
No need to fear or feel vexed.
Without harm none you will injure,
But this spell you must conjure.
After dark, sprinkle the mixture outside your front and back doors while you do this in the dark announce your intent :
Mint heal and pepper sting, no curse shall cross this protective ring.
When you've finished, go inside and shut your door tightly, lock it, and say as a closing :
In these walls I'm protected as can be,
From curse, foe, or any who don't carry my key.
Then you're done

The Wheel of Fortune â During your first or next Saturn Return
Justice â When you least expect it
The Hanged Man â When the circumstances change
Death â Whenever it is ready
Temperance â After the storm
The Devil â It is happening right now
The Tower â Soon, unexpectedly and suddenly
The Star â The more you believe, the sooner it will happen
The Moon â It cannot be determined at the moment

To Help You Remember:
Wands are days, because they are fire, and fire moves fast.
Swords are weeks, because while a sword is quick to cut, it first requires some thinking on the warriorâs part.
Cups are months, because they are water, and water flows with the moon, which completes a cycle in roughly a month.
Pentacles are seasons to years, because they are seeds, and some seeds only require a season to grow while others need a year.
The timings for the Major Arcana and the Pages are related to the cardsâ meanings. Once you know the meanings, you know the timings.
The Kings, Queens and Knights are the Zodiac signsâ birthdays:

The Great Goddess Hecate (Hekate)
Who is Hecate? She is the Goddess of Witchcraft, Necromancy, Ghosts, Magic, and, in some instances, the Night, Darkness, The Mist, and Moon. For some She is also the goddess of motherhood, protection, and the sea. She is a Hellenic deity, born of the Titans Asteria and Perses. Thereâs a few beliefs circling around Her being a crone goddess or a Triple Goddess, but those are modern and neopagan beliefsâwhich She predates. I also consider Her to be a part of the Chthonic deities.
Symbology: Black dogs, Wolves, Keys, Torches, Flames, Torches, Crossroads, Serpents, Daggers, Birds of Prey (crows, ravens, owls), the Moon, witchcraft tools (such as cauldrons, tarot, athames)
Offerings & Devotional Acts for Her:
Figurines of any of Her symbols
keys, skeleton keys, lockets
fire witchcraft and candles, flames, matchsticks
dedicating any lunar or symbolic jewelry to Her
black/dark crystals such as obsidian and onyx
nocturnal animal imagery
black/cool colored glitter
baneful/poisonous herbs and plants
pomegranates/berries (She seems to really like blackberries)
dark blend wines
honey, cinnamon, poppy seeds, chocolates (dark)
mugwort, lavender, roses, jasmine, dragonâs blood
bones and feathers from birds of prey (please check your local laws about obtaining these)
pinpricks of blood (please DO NOT attempt this if you struggle with self harm/etc, blood magic is particularly strong and isnât for everyone. She will understand if you cannot offer that to her).
Taking midnight walks, setting up altars and rituals at crossroads, paying respects to the dead and practicing your craft in a cemeteryÂ
Any playlists, poems, literature, whether it be your own or just a piece you associate with Her, also make wonderful offerings.Â
Lunar Influences & Connections: Reaching out to Hecate tends to work best at night, and really any time the moon is at itâs peak. The Witching Hours, midnight to 3A.M., during strong lunar influences (blue moons, blood moons, eclipses, new moons, etc) all hold strong bonds with Hecate. Also, any time it is particularly foggy or your surroundings are covered in a mist is a good time to try to connect with Her.
Disclaimer: These are correspondences that have been gathered through my personal experiences working through my craft with Her. If you find She responds better to different offerings/during different times, by all means, stick to it! Your bond with Her is your own and should be cultivated in whichever way works best for you and Her. Thank You!

đ Nail Polish Ritual đ
Hereâs a simple, versatile ritual that I do weeklyâŚmy favorite ways to practice witchcraft involve incorporating magic into the mundane, and this is a great example of that!Â
You can charge your polish with any intent â some examples are glamours (such as beauty or confidence), luck, focus/concentration (great for exams or finals week!), protection, energy, or simply for enhancing your own magical power!
đš Start by using nail polish remover, and visualize that as the old polish is wiped away, so is the accumulated negativity and stress from the previous week. (If you donât have any nail polish on a substitute could simple be washing your hands clean!) I like to charge my nail polish remover beforehand with crystals that have cleansing and purifying properties, such as clear quartz, amethyst, selenite, and celestine.
đšNext, choose the color of nail polish you wish, and charge it with your desired intent. There are many ways to do this â usually, my preferred method is simply to charge the bottle with crystals matching my intent. If you have the time and patience, drawing sigils underneath your polish is another great way to channel energy. And of course, you could use color correspondences, just like you would with candles! Use the correspondences that work best for you, but hereâs a basic list of some of my personal color associations!
Pink: Love, Beauty
Red: Confidence, Strength
Orange: Energy, SuccessÂ
Yellow: Focus, Positivity
Green: Luck, Prosperity
Blue: Wisdom, Peace
Purple: Inspiration, Psychic Ability
Black: Protection, Banishing
Gray: Calm, Stability
White: Clarity, Purification
đšWhile waiting for my polish to dry, Iâll take a few minutes to meditate. Iâll put on a calming Spotify playlist, light a candle, and just take a moment to clear my mind and focus on my breathing. (It goes without saying, but of course use common sense and donât let your candle get too close to flammable nail polish/remover!)Â
đšAfter your nail polish has dried, finish with a top coat to âsealâ the intent and help it last longer. Again, you can enhance the polishâs strength and protection properties by charging the bottle with crystals such as tigerâs eye, hematite, or black onyx (yes, I know, I use my crystals for just about everythingâŚ)
*As a side note, I know there are several posts about nail polish magic floating around, so please know that I am not trying to claim that the entire concept is an original idea â this is just my personal ritual! đ

Baking a brioche on a stormy afternoon. A slow living approach.
We had a stormy day last week. The weather was gloomy and it was really windy. I decided to bake a Brioche. Bread making is such a great activity to slow down, and brioche are such a decadent treat.Â
Making brioche was really hard for me the first couple of times, and I wish I watched videos on how to make it.Â
Brioche makes wonderful food for any celebrations of the pagan year! You can adapt the recipe to your need and add the flavours and herbs. They are perfect for you feasts are they are the embodiment of the little luxuries, the little extra we enjoy on a celebration day! At the end, I give you some ideas to adapt the recipe to each of the sabbats!
Prep time: 40 min
Rest time: 1h30
Proving time in the fridge: a whole night
Cooking time: 25 to 30 min
Material needed:
A standing mixer with a hook or a hand mixer with hooks. If you donât have any of those, you can mix by hand but it is going to get really messy and it is much longer.
Ingredients
2tsp dry yeast
4tbsp milk
1tbsp suger
250g plain flour
30g sugar
125g butter at room temperature
3+1 eggs at room temperature
1tbsp Cointreau or Rhum
Recipe
Activate the yeast by mixing 2 tsp of dry yeast with 4tbsp of luke warm milk and a tbsp of sugar. Mix well and let it rest for at least 15min. The yeast is activated when there is a fluffy foam on the top of the milk.
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt and butter together until crumbly.
In a small bowl beat 3 eggs with a tbsp of Cointreau or Rhum.
Add the beaten eggs and the yeast to the crumbly dough.
Start mixing with the robot for at least 5 min. The dough is ready when it is smooth, silky and sticky (donât worry about that)
First proving:
Cover the bowl with cling film and let the dough rest in a warm place. Near a radiator is really good or in the oven at minimal heat (no more than 30°C / 86°F). Let it rise for about 1h30 or when the volume has doubled. If there is a wind draft, the dough will never rise.
Second proving:
Once the first rising is done, punch the dough to remove the gaz accumulated. At this point the dough is really sticky and thatâs normal, donât be tempted to add more flour. Cover the bowl again and let it rest a full night in the fridge. The dough will rise a bit again.
The day after:
Pre heat the oven at 180°C/350°F
Sprinkle flour on your worktop and start rolling the dough in a large cylinder. Cut it in 3 equal parts.
Roll each part in a long sausage, then braid them together.
Beat one egg and spread it on the braided brioche with a brush. It will make the crust gold and shiny
Bake 25 to 30min at 180°C/350°F
A few important tips:
This dough has a lot of butter that make is very sticky. Thatâs why the nigh in the fridge is very important. It makes the dough hard enough to be manipulated. Try to work quickly so the dough stays cold.
If you donât have room temperature butter, shred the butter with a cheese grater it will do just fine.
No alcohol? No problem! Try to perfume the brioche with vanilla or orange zest!
Sabbaths celebrations ideas:
Mabon - 20th-22nd September - Add some sliced apples to the dough before the first proving time
Samhain - 31st October - Add a tsp of pumpkin spices to the flour.
Yule - 20th-22nd December - Add orange zest and orange juice to the mix instead of the Cointreau
Imbolc - 1st February - Donât change the recipe it is perfect for this celebration day!
Ostara - 20th-22nd March - CHOCOLATE! Add chocolate chips to the batter before mixing everything together
Beltane - 1st May - Use 30g of honey instead of sugar
Litha - 20th-22nd June - Again, you can use honey and also add oranges. Maybe brush a bit of orange marmalade when it is straight out of the oven
Lughnasadh - 31st July - Add Strawberries / Raspberries / Blueberries to the mix before the first proving time

Candle reading made easy
Hey loves, I donât want to make this post suuuper long so imagine me blowing a welcome kiss to all of you and letâs get startedâŚ
The generic practice of reading fire is called pyromancy.Â
We can break a candle reading session down to 3 main parts:
Observation (flame watching)
Gathering & understanding (decoding fireâs messages)
Final question & Goodbye (ask if thereâs anything else you should know before leaving, thank and salute fire/salamanders)
During the observation phase, watch for:
Length of the flame 1-2 min to know WHEN-the timing = PAST
Shape of the flame 2-3 min to know WHAT-the actual matter = PRESENT
Direction & behavior of the flame 3-4 min to know HOW-the true nature of it = hints at the FUTURE (see where the fire is pointing to know what type of matter it is; concentrate on the opposite direction telling you how to counteract to solve or banish whatever it might be; it also indicates what elemental energy is strongly supporting/protecting you in taking action as well as in related spellwork)
Presence/Absence of Smoke 2-3 min to understand the SOURCE of your awarenessÂ
*Keep a compass handy!
Salamanders/fire will try to communicate with you as soon as you light the fire/candle so pay attention from the very beginning. Fire energy is impulsive, blunt, active, carefree and wild. This type of divination detects negativity like WOW because it easily speaks the brutally honest truth regardless of how you feel or whatâs happening. It brings up issues that we refuse to deal with. Again, itâs pure blunt energy. Because of its wild nature, fire will also charge us with optimism and explosive determination to overcome problems and bad news: typically after pyromancy we feel motivated and âready to goâ.
Length
Long-extra long: something has been bothering you for a very long time now (trust your intuition, probably for years) which you never actively faced; youâve been quiet for too long; unsolved problems from the past are challenging your patience; relevant stuff that had to be cleared much earlier
Medium: Something that has been lurking in the back of your mind for 1-3 months, a plan or an idea that could change/shake your life but is not currently a priority to you; it might be something you heard from another person or a vague thought
Short: something intense that happened within the last couple days, a very recent thing is bothering you and has almost caught you by surprise; unexpected news from day to day, a new sudden event that physically or emotionally shook you
ShapeÂ
Double: Two things that were generated consequentially or have a common link, two entities/people united by a common theme
Super-thin line: Something you felt or suspected but never had proof of evidence about, a subtle suspicion, a doubt, an insinuation; a sneaky or secretive individual
Regular: Something/someone that you accept and is part of your routine, your own mindset, something very close and not disturbing; a solid milestone in your daily life
Round:Â One thing in particular that constantly âfills you upâ, makes you feel complete, full, exploding or either extremely delighted; a person who represses/suppresses you, someone ghosting you on purpose just to humble you or to make you feel lesser
Behavior
Steady: things are happening in the background, far from the âpublic eyeâ and without you even realizing; you - and people around you- are calm, clueless, peaceful and the surroundings seem safe; good vibes are in the air but definitely keep your eyes open and intuition awake
Shaky, wiggly: things are visibly happening before your eyes, making you confused, uneasy or giving you mood swings; anxiety; you are able to feel bad vibes around you: take control of the situation and protect yourself Weak, petite & almost extinguished: matter/person X is now annihilating you before the eyes of everybody, but still no one defends you; seek help in others, protect yourself and take action to win this ripe, suffered battle
Directions
EAST: AIR - communication, mindset, mental/spoken/written things, logical reasoning, ideas, plans, spring, morning, sunrise, masculine⌠WEST: WATER - emotions, unconscious, gut feelings, passivity, illogical reasoning, intangibility, blue, flow, moisture, fall, sunset, feminine⌠SOUTH: FIRE - action, guidance, strength, activity, blood, warmth, creativity, masculine, red, impulse, summer, noon⌠NORTH: EARTH - stability, firmness, art, finance, grounding, material things, tangibility, stillness, death, birth, winter, midnight, green⌠(+ ALL YOUR PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE about the elements and how they can be interpreted, what meanings they have in our lives and their specific correspondences)Â
Smoke
Absence: you are the source of awareness: your body and soul have sent you signals about matter X and you had an inner awakening which led you to this readingÂ
Presence: someone else enlightened you with their words and made you fully aware of matter X; something popped up as an obvious proof that you werenât expecting to find: this has awakened your inquisitive mind and led it to this reading.Â
Hopefully youâll get inspired by this post and learn something useful to spice up your divination practice:) I thank you so much for reading, xox msmoonfire
