Conquering Time.

The kuṇḍalinī or life-giving energy, which lies coiled up at the bottom of the spine, has to be activated into moving up once or twice to the brain. One who succeeds in doing this, conquers time, and thus knows the past, present and future. He triumphs over death and becomes one with eternity. Conquering Kāla (time), Śiva has become Mahākāla (the Lord of time). The Divine Mother dances upon His breast. And what does Mahākāla do? As if swallowing the whole universe, He lies merged in Brahman.
