I felt more grounded, deeper connected than I ever had before in the 24 years. And the suit had a lot to do with that, I think.

fictional age differences are so fucking funny
yes, wade is one quarter logans age. however, wade is 50, theyre both immortal, and the amount of his life that logan remembers is close to wades age anyway.
still wouldnt stop wade from calling himself the controversially young gf, tho

Ok ok as you should know I'm a huge fan of origins Wolverine is the worst Wolverine. So please imagine this scene
Logan who can't quite place Wade in his mind as a variant of his Wade even though he realizes there's something he's missing.
One day Logan is cleaning up around the apartment and finds the polaroid of Vanessa and Wade from before. He just freezes can not compute because holy fuck that's who this is. This man who had enamored him so is the same one from all those years ago.
They are not the same person not really but it's still Wade. This is the man who had died who he himself had killed (Who he may have even loved).
The same man who was watching him from across the room with a raised brow bone. "I knew you." Logan whispers and Wade just tilts his head in confusion.
"From before Weapon X." Logan answers. Wade's eyes go wide, "OH SHIT!! THAT WAS YOUR UNIVERSE?! Damn no wonder you're the worst Wolverine you got stuck with the worst version of me."
Logan just blinks in confusion. Worst version? Logan doesn't know if he can agree with that.

It has this innate potential for something emotional. How do relationships evolve, including ones that start with hatred?

For all of you that give Logan children in your fics, i see you and i respect your headcanon. But i also want to remind everyone that Movie-Logan was fucking scared of the idea of having children. There's the scene in DOFP where Hank aks him if he's a parent and he replies "i sure as hell hope not."
He lived 6 years with Kayla and they could have had children during that time. But they didn't. Logan couldn't be sure if his children would inherit his mutation or not. He didn't want to pass on the burden to an innocent kid that comes with his powers. The pain, when the claws emerge for the first time. The realization that everyone around them will die, while they live on. The hatred they would have to face and being forced to fight and kill. And what if they too would be used for gruesome experiments? How could he be so cruel to let any woman know that their child would never be happy? And what if they had their powers at birth? Would they rip their way brutally out of their mother? If he hadn't had his healing factor, he would have had a vasectomy as soon as the procedure was invented.
That's why he was so mad at Laura. Because he was actually mad at himself. He didn't manage to destroy all of Weapon X and they had used his DNA to create a child unbeknownst to him. All of his fears had come true. He had a child and it had been tortured and used because of their powers. Laura could have children of her own someday and spread the family curse. A never ending cycle of pain. Generational trauma.
