If you want to be extra SUPER safe, don't bring your phone with you to the mini-vacation. Don't bring ANYTHING with GPS along. That may include some car models.
Maybe look into getting a burner (with cash) if you think you might need it. You can often get a prepaid phone at your local phone provider shop. I am not sure if you have to show ID, but you may. Honestly, I'd just go completely without a cell phone. If you must proceed with it, get a low-tech phone. As low-tech as possible.
POSTING THIS AGAIN!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!

The Polk County Sheriff's Office deliberately misled people into believing that Briana Boston had been released without charges. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

* I think the creator of this pic was transmasc (?) For common transfem names I found "Emma, Lily, Luna" but decide depending on what your heart tells you for lawful neutral and lawful evil 💗
No "not trans" button just ask or queue you abnormal freaks

Ok I want to say something controversial
But you are responsible for your own safe spaces. You can block tags, block words, block people.
“But i thought fandom was supposed to be a safe space” —yeah you have to curate it.
Unfortunately one persons’s safe space may be another persons’ trigger. That’s ok. Simply block them, block the tag, block the word etc. They can do the same for you.
Maybe I’m just out of touch, but I’ve been around since the days of “don’t like, don’t read” and that’s a good philosophy. If it squicks you, scroll past. If it causes you anxiety or upset, block! Plenty of people are responsive if you ask them to tag an upsetting trigger. And if they’re dicks about it, block em.
#genau#please curate your own space#I will not do it for you#(will use trigger warning tags when given a heads up)

I’m seeing a bunch of posts that make me think most USAmericans don’t know about The No Surprises Act.
It was passed in 2021 (thank you Biden) and essentially states that if you don’t have insurance or your insurance doesn’t cover a service you need (or want) you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of care. (If your insurance does cover the service, you should be able to estimate the cost of care based on your deductible and co-pay.)
As a healthcare provider who does not accept any insurance, I am very careful to not violate The No Surprises Act. Why? Because for every penny more than $400 that the Good Faith Estimate was “off” (or if it wasn’t provided), you are entitled to a refund for that amount.
Y’all. Ask for a Good Faith Estimate. Get it in writing. Compare it to what you are paying. If you are not provided an estimate or if it’s wrong by more than $400, demand a refund.

Sometimes you like the fandom favorite and that's annoying because you have to see all the wild takes that do not interpret them the correct way. Other times, you like the fandom's least favorite and that's annoying because you still have to see all the wild takes that do not interpret them the correct way.

Be careful about the report that she was released with no charges!
While she was released, apparently she is still being charged.
I was a bit confused because I had previously been bamboozled by that false report. Always double check your facts, folks! Especially in cases like this. :)

I do think it’s unfortunate that people (europeans) automatically assume that “american” style versions of foods are immediately the most bastardized version done purposefully out of lack of culture, when the reality a lot of times it’s rooted in a response of millions of poor immigrants stepping foot in a foreign land attempting to recreate beloved recipes with what few ingredients were available and affordable
#and now I'm doing that but in reverse#buttermilk biscuits are apparently somewhat exotic here#lmfao#genau
