“So we hear it’s your birthday today Jeonghan?"  The MC asks slyly like he knows something Jeonghan doesn’t know. It takes him a back a little, he wasn’t expecting anything to be brought up during filming. He’d intended to treat it like a normal day and maybe if they had time, have a small cake and quiet celebration with the members after filming and practice. So he hasn’t prepared himself at all. Now he’s nervous.  Birthdays aren’t safe for idols.

What do you think of Sungjong as a person? In a sense of his character and his relationship with his members.

Well shit this is a randomly deep question…

Sungjong, to me, is an awesome person. He seems super confident and classy, well put together, but he also has a fun side to him as well. Idk man Sungjong is our future overlord, and he’s awesome.

Okay no let me answer this seriously.

Sungjong is amazing to be honest, he blows me away in the best way. The thing that caught my eye about him was that he may be one of the few male korean idols that when he’s asked what his ideal type is he doesn’t reply with physical features but with personality traits that he’s interested in. And lemme tell you hearing a male idol talk about their ideal types in a way that has nothing to do with their bodies is a breath of freaking fresh air, that’s when I was like, holy shit, Lee Sungjong is amazing.

When I think of Sungjong I automatically think of the quote “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, because lbr Sungjong looks all sweet and innocent and naive until you actually listen to him in interviews and you realize that holy shit this is the world’s future overlord, because Sungjong is a sweetheart but when you push him he pushes back 10 times harder. Sungjong is one BAMF, okay? Have you not seen how he beat the shit out of that teddy bear on Weekly Idol?

Sungjong’s very mature and independent, he totally rubs off as the type that knows what his duties are and does them without needing anyone to tell him. And honestly sometimes I look at Sungjong and forget he’s the youngest because he doesn’t act it at all. Except for those little moments where he lets his public mask slip, and I really love those moments, because we get to see the type of person Sungjong can be when he wants to.

And obviously Sungjong has fucking patience, and I’m not talking about patience with his idiot hyungs, but patience with the fans and the public, because no matter how much Sungjong may enjoy dancing to girl groups songs I know for a fact he doesn’t like being called a girl, or being asked to pull his pants down to make sure he’s a “man” (yes that really did happen), and you can see how that effected him because in “The Chaser” era he had such a huge facade on so people can see him for who he is and stop calling him a girl. And let me make this clear I don’t think he thinks being called a girl is an insult, I really don’t, because I think if any man were to be aware of how awesome women are, and how not “weak” they are, it’s Sungjong (and Dongwoo tbh) I just think it upsets him because he’s not a girl, it’s that simple, Sungjong seems like the type that doesn’t enjoy being called something that he’s not.

He’s obviously confident, Sungjong doesn’t need anyone to tell him he’s handsome or anything like that, because he knows he is. And that may make him sound cocky but he’s not, there’s nothing wrong with being aware of how awesome you are, and he doesn’t shove it down people’s throats, he knows he’s beautiful and handsome but he doesn’t flaunt it and that’s what I love. He doesn’t try hard to make people see that, he honestly doesn’t try at all, he just is. I really love that about him, I like how confident he is, confident enough to dress up as a girl, confident enough to dance girl group dances and seriously too, not in a way that’s trying to make people laugh, but in a way that would make peoples’ jaws drop, and make men question their sexuality, because Sungjong takes that shit serious, he doesn’t dance to girl group songs to be funny or to degrade them, he dances to them to show that men can be just as sexy, pretty, and beautiful, as women.

As for Sungjong’s relationship with the other members,  I think that when he loves someone (whether it’s romantically or just a brotherly/friendship love) he would protect them fiercely, and put up with things he wouldn’t normally put up with because he loves them, and it’s no different with his Hyungs. My favorite ship in Infinite is HoJong, and it’s for a reason, besides Hoya not being able to hide his obvious boner for Sungjong, when Sungjong is around Hoya his facade slips a bit, and that’s in public, imagine in the confines of their own dorm. I think Hoya and Sungjong are two sides of the same coin, they compliment each other well, when they’re around each other you get to see the best sides of both of them. Sungjong and Sunggyu however, Sunggyu really makes Sungjong’s fierceness shine through, I bet more than half the time Sungjong flips out it’s because of Sunggyu, but I underneath all that I know that Sungjong loves Sunggyu fiercely, like he would an older brother who thinks he runs shit when in fact no Sungjong is the HBIC thank you very much. Sungjong’s relationship with Myungsoo, it really shows how patient Sungjong can get, he lets Myungsoo pet him and pinch his cheeks, because he knows that’s what his Hyung needs, and I find that really sweet tbh. I feel like Sungjong protects Dongwoo a lot tbh, lol idk if there were like a zombie apocalypse or something Sungjong would be one BAMF and keep Dongwoo safe. I can totally see him fucking shit up for whoever made Dongwoo cry. His relationship with Sungyeol is adorable they totally have the big brother little brother thing going on, they like to tease each other and idk when I picture them as not idols and actual brothers I can totally see them teasing each other about their crushes and embarrassing the shit out of each other, it’s adorable. Woohyun and Sungjong idk they just seem like buddies lol, like they’re cool and close and bros I guess??? Idk I honestly don’t see that many Sungjong/Woohyun interactions, I think Sungjong is in a constant state of loving his hyung tons yet wanting to stuff Woohyun’s face in a pillow for being so greasy???

Basically Sungjong is superior to everyone, no one is worthy, and I’m pretty sure any feminist!insprits (or even not, maybe just feminists in general) are fucking in love with him, because I sure as hell am.
