Went through the spheres and the zodiacal correspondences. It then felt appropriate to go through the court cards. Called each and felt their presence. Then simply sat in silence and darkness.

While sitting there was a definite sense of hallucinated light. First a blueish light off to my left then a warmer yellowish light below and to my right. It did not seem the point of the work was to pursue any of these so I just kept focus on sitting.

At another point there was a sense of a deepening darkness, as if a shadow passed over me, but, of course I was already in complete darkness. Again, it didn't seem useful to chase after this sensation so I just let it go.

Went through the spheres and the zodiacal correspondences. It felt resonant and deep. After completing this the mind went completely blank for a duration. Sat in silence until content returned to the mind.

Waxing Crescent Moon (4%) High Priestess

Sigil working and meditation on Zodiac, in cistern, 36 minutes

Used sigil bowl to create a sigil to set the intent of having a revelation.

Opened with astral sphere of o͞ol-bä-ōg-säh then thirty paths of the icosahedron.

The meditation on the zodiac and the spheres aligned well again, the associations are growing stronger with each repetition. The cistern is getting quite cold now, needing to layer up more for longer meditations.

During closing it occurred to me that I was feeling a draft in the cistern. This only makes sense if there is a sizable draft coming into the basement. I need to get up into the crawlspace to investigate. While starting to look a bit I noticed a snakeskin, and then another, and then another. They all look to be milk snake. I believe likely less than a year old. They are more than welcome to stick around and deal with mice.

The realization that there is a draft I need to address coming in through the crawlspace could satisfy the revelation, though I must admit I had hoped for something a bit more flashy.

Back working in the cistern tonight. Went through the wheel of the zodiac with correspondences to the spheres of the icosahedron. After completing this went into simple breath focus meditation.

In addition to these arguments, on our part it is we who think of the One by purifying our speculation in the direction of what is simpler and of greatest compass. But the most venerable thing of all cannot be apprehended by any conception or by any speculation, since even among things here, whatever escapes toward that which is higher with respect to our thoughts is more lofty than whatever is ready to hand, and so that which escapes our conceptions most completely is the most valuable of all. I was really struck by this passage in which Damascius formulates a higher sort of nothingness that is in relation to the platonic first cause, the One. It strikes me as very much the same line of thinking that lead me to my formulation of (0/1) Nesh-Heen which is both a sort of transcendent nothingness and the basis for all being. I part ways with a lot of platonic thinking about causation, but there sure seems to be a heck of a lot in common!

Focus on your sigil during takeoff and landing. Don't neglect in-flight communion if offered.

Next step, burnishing.

This can be accomplished by rubbing the outside and lip of the bowl with the back of a spoon. The clay needs to be stiff, but not yet dry. It should feel solid and cold. It is a surprisingly simple technique.

Any polished object can be used for burnishing, so you may want to use a smooth stone with energetic significance for this step.

Burnishing is primarily for aesthetics, but also has seemed to help prevent cracks when sawdust pit firing.

Once the clay is dry we will be sanding the inside to make it smooth but leave a matte finish.

My pottery wheel is basically a battery powered toy for kids crafts. It's slow and wobbly, but it does the job.

The bowl is formed from a lump of clay a bit smaller than my fist. I reccomend any clay that is fairly resilient. Still learning about options. This is a Standard Clay Company woodfire clay.

The bowl should be shallow. A deeper bowl will be harder to use to draw a sigil in the bottom.

You can also form a bowl by hand, for example using a coil pinch method.

Once formed, let the bowl sit until "leather hard". Should be about 24 hours.

Really happy with these results from the sawdust firing. Everything fired, no breaks or cracks, even black coating, burnished surface looks great!

I think we have reached consistent quality to start selling these. Couple more experiments I want to run with the next batch.

Again working with zodiacal correspondences of the spheres. The premise I'm working with is that it isn't so much that the sphere's themselves directly map to the zodiac so much as the court cards associated surrounding the spheres relate. After this meditation this seems to be a reasonable correspondence.

Worked through each sign of the zodiac and called on each court card adjacent to the corresponding sphere in the icosahedron.

Next pit firing experiment in process!

Lesson learned today, I must have stored the wood shavings in a place with too much humidity. They definitely did not catch fire as easily as they did last time. It took quite a lot of effort, blowing and fanning, to get them up to temperature.

I hope I got the fire hot enough to drive off the moisture. It's smoldering down now and we won't know the result until the morning.

This is the first time I am firing bowls that I have burnished. Really hope I got a successful fire on at least a couple of them.

Back to consideration of how the twelve signs of the zodiac best map to the twelve spheres of void emanation. I believe the four "middle-pillar" spheres are the four fixed signs:

Then the remaining top four spheres are the cardinal signs:

(1/2) ♋︎, (2/3) ♎︎, (3/5) ♑︎, (4/7) ♈︎

And the final four are the mutable signs:

(6/13) ♓︎, (7/17) ♊︎, (9/23) ♍︎, (10/29) ♐︎

I worked through this in meditation and then sat and quieted the mind and counted breaths.
