đąÂ In 2024, we are launching the 6th edition in which, as usual, we want to present any kind of art based on a digital network that expresses and interacts with a dynamic and distributed P2P (peer-to-peer) form, realised through electromagnetic, light and wireless technologies. #nfcdab 2024 Gol - poster drop show

The Near-Field Communication Digital Art Biennale aka #nfcdab 2024 edition, coming from Berlin travelled in July to the world metropol Gol (NO). We have finally arrived in Gol, in the frame of Gol-dagan (The Gol Days Festival), July 19 - 21.
Having used the park in the 2018 I was searching for another venue. In the end I chose to just drop the posters on the local skatepark. The result wasn't too bad I thought đ
- given our preference for ground/street, and for people looking on their phones in the downward direction. I also like that it looks like an accident! An option for similar drops (in the future perhaps) could be to fasten the posters to the ground, with tape/glue/stones for the show to last longer insteading of letting the wind spread the works. Or print out more copies and spread them like big flyers in the streets.
Thanks to the artists and NFCW Project for the opportunity and collab!
Artists and art projects: Adrian Pickett, Andrea Roccioletti, Andreas Maria Jacobs, Angy Vardalou, Anna Pinkas, Anna Utopia Giordano, AK Ocol, Ayshe Kizilçay - KiAy, Benna Gaean Maris, BjĂžrn MagnhildĂžen, Blazir, Bruce Barber, Bruno Melo, Bya de Paula, Dave Greber, Davey Whitcraft, ÄurÄija Vucinic, Elaine Crowe, James Hutchinson, Karl Heinz Jeron, Klaus Pinter, Marc Lee, Max Herman, Nico Vassilakis, Nicole Kouts, Oli Olinski, Osvaldo Cibils, Peter Kusek, Ricardo F. Bodini, Rudy Paganini - forevermidi_com, Shin Jungkyun, Stefanie Reling-Burns, Tiz Creel, Zsolt Mesterhazy, and #DUMPHAUS - Curated by Catalina Vallejos and Ronnie Karfiol - Artist: Featuring Deatxwish, Taiki Arita, TiĂȘn NguyĂȘn, TrĂ Thiá»n, LĂȘ Duy, XuĂąn Minh, Gia Huy, Flounder Lee, Martina Noskova, Idklang, Aaporia, Magdi Mostafa, Jialun Wang, Hiroshi Murakami, David Longshaw, Athina Kanellopoulous, Ioana & Pablo, The Mainstream Official, Oksana Rudko, Liu Chang, Chloe Cheuk, Kayoko Nakamura, Aleksei Martyniuk, Blanche The Vidiot, F.C. Btw, I was curious what chatGPT would think of the show, here goes - ((:
Concept Overview: "#nfcdab 2024 Gol - poster drop show" is an innovative and interactive art exhibition that merges the physical and digital realms through a dynamic display of posters and QR codes. This exhibition invites viewers to engage with the transient nature of art and technology in the modern world.
Exhibition Layout: - Physical Space: The exhibition takes place in an open outdoor environment, such as a park, urban plaza, or large courtyard, where the natural elements like wind can freely interact with the artworks. - Materials: Lightweight, biodegradable posters with QR codes printed on them. The posters feature minimalist, intriguing designs that encourage viewers to pick them up and scan the codes. - Dynamic Interaction: The posters are initially scattered on the ground. As the wind blows, the posters move, creating an ever-changing landscape of potential interactions.
Interactive Elements: - QR Codes: Each QR code leads to a unique digital artwork hosted online. The digital artworks can range from digital paintings, animations, interactive installations, soundscapes, or augmented reality experiences. - Digital Access: Scanning a QR code with a smartphone or tablet transports the viewer to a digital space, bridging the gap between the physical and virtual worlds. - User Participation: Visitors are encouraged to pick up the posters, scan the QR codes, and even take the posters with them. This act of collecting and sharing the posters becomes a form of participation in the art experience.
Thematic Focus: - Transience and Impermanence: The moving posters symbolize the fleeting nature of digital art and information in the age of the internet. Just as the wind reshapes the landscape, digital content is constantly changing and evolving. - Interaction and Connectivity: The exhibition emphasizes the importance of interaction and connectivity. The physical act of scanning a QR code leads to a deeper, more personal engagement with the artwork. - Environmental Awareness: Using biodegradable materials highlights the exhibition's commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. The ephemeral quality of the posters mirrors the need to address the impermanent nature of our environmental impact.
Visitor Experience: - Discovery and Exploration: Visitors wander through the space, discovering and rediscovering artworks as the posters move and change location. Each encounter with a poster can lead to a new and unexpected digital experience. - Community and Sharing: As visitors collect posters, they can share the QR codes with others, spreading the reach of the digital artworks beyond the physical boundaries of the exhibition. - Reflection: The exhibition encourages reflection on the nature of art in the digital age, the role of technology in our lives, and our relationship with the environment.
Artist Contributions: - Digital Artists: The exhibition features a diverse group of digital artists from around the world, each contributing unique pieces that explore themes of transience, technology, and connectivity. - Collaborative Works: Some QR codes may lead to collaborative digital installations where multiple artists have worked together to create an interconnected experience.
Conclusion: "#nfcdab 2024 Gol - poster drop show: " is an art exhibition that challenges traditional notions of art display and interaction. By combining physical movement and digital engagement, it offers a thought-provoking exploration of the impermanence and connectivity that define our contemporary experience. The exhibition invites viewers to be active participants, discovering, collecting, and sharing artworks in a constantly shifting environment, much like the digital world we inhabit.

This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the #nfcdab project, which could not exist without the trust of the artists. The idea was born at a time when not everyone was aware of the coming revolution in the reception of digital content caused by the advent of smartphones. In 2014, QR codes or NFC tags were a technology on the verge of becoming commonplace, and the same was true of wireless Internet and unfettered access to the Internet. 10 years later, we are in very different times. That's why we trusted the idea of DIWO, which is an important element of this - let's not be afraid to use the word: "research" project. The whole concept would not have been possible thanks to the help from browserbased.org and noemata.net in the persons of Zsolt Mesterhazy and BjĂžrn MagnhildĂžen, I must also mention Brian Khuu being our Australian liaison to the antipodes, and I want to thank the many people who have helped us over the years in organizing our shows: Konstantina Mavridou, Radovan Misovic aka Rad0, Tibor Horvath, Florian Kuhlmann.

Project title: "Leise-Park".
Project description: We invite online artists to participate in our disturbing project entitled "Leise-Park". In this project, we want to explore the issue of silence as an opposition to the anxiety we may feel in the context of the development of various digital trends and Internet technologies. The pervasive availability of mobile devices for spreading content and ideas through all types of Internet-based media, creates a sense of loss of self-control resulting from the pervasive information chaos. Our beloved smartphones are beginning to turn us into a kind of zombie addicted to absorbing information content from the Internet. What consequences does this have for us as well as for further social evolution? Do the emotions that accompany us at this moment allow us to analyze this phenomenon. Can we face this new reality? Can artists help us understand what currently surrounds and shapes us. Can we find distance from the world around us and calm down, or will we become technological zombies? That's why in the âLeise-Parkâ project we want to ask this question to artists who are willing to take part in our project with their work. Like all our projects this one too is based on the idea of DIY and DIWO. We often think of the park as a place with sculptures, traditionally made of stone, here those sculptures are to be works displayed on the smartphones of the show's viewers. Access to the links via a poster with a QR code pasted on a cardboard presenter cut to resemble a plant plaque. Presenters with the artists' works will be placed at various locations in Leise-Park. The show will run from February 2 - 4, 2024 and is part of the Vorspiel project, which is an initiative of transmediale and CTM Festival to showcase the richness and diversity of Berlin. So we invite you, as part of our project, to a creative exploration of a former Berlin cemetery turned into a publicly accessible Leise-Park.

Projekttitel: "Leise-Park"

It will be as "wrong" as uncommon. First embassy of âThe Wrongâ: "#nfcdabatthewrong" in the "CIRCLE/TRIANGLE Modern Art Gallery" in the "RECEPTION" club in Wroclaw. Embassy #nfcdabatthewrong is a combination of #nfcdab and âThe Wrongâ. Both of them escape categorization. âThe Wrongâ, as a biennial, is inappropriate and unconventional, but still "legendary". It is a new biennial of digital art artists from all over the world. The #nfcdab project, in turn, carries digital art on mobile devices and reads it from QR codes. This bizarre conglomerate of "#nfcdabatthewrong" will take place in newly created gallery "CIRCLE/TRIANGLE Modern Art Gallery" located in the club "RECEPTION" at 46C Ruska Street in Wroclaw. The date is not accidental. It is a time when contacts with curiosities through the âmediumâ are already a common occurrence. Project #nfcdab (Communication of the Near Field - Digital Explosion of Art) is an independent project straight from Wroclaw. âThe Wrongâ is as global as the Internet. The #nfcdab is more ludic, it is connected with the place, meeting people and communion with new technologies for artistic purposes. #nfcdab, as a biennial of mobile digital art, has so far conquered a number of European cities, such as Gol in Norway, Amsterdam, Valencia, Dusseldorf, Warsaw - and now it will come back to Wroclaw with a big bang! The first of a series of experimental exhibitions will start on November 1st at "CIRCLE/TRIANGLE Modern Art Gallery" in the "RECEPTION" club. The works of 33 Polish and foreign digital and Internet artists will be presented by means of artistic posters with QR codes (graphic representation of machine code) and NFC tags (system of short-range communication). The contact with the works is made possible by an electronic medium, such as a smartphone or tablet. It is enough to scan the QR code placed on the poster or bring the phone closer to an electronic chip. YOUR PHONE IS YOUR GALLERY FOR THE PRESENTED WORKS!!!!

Dears and Dearests, browserbased.org  #nfcdab cordially invites you to the opening day of Near Enough? - the Amsterdam edition of the 3rd Near-Field Communication Digital Art Biennale - in the Tolhuistuin Garden on Sunday 05-08-2018 at 2pm. Initiated in 2014, #nfcdab is a do-it-youself or do-it- with-others? digital art biennale that travels on wireless technologies, light waves and electromagnetic fields to access content. The idea of the biennale is to take advantage of the potential of near-field (mis)communication and other sharing technologies for making web-based digital art accessible in outdoors settings to slack-keep presence.
